There was some wild drama in the fan-fiction community that happened in the 2000s and is the reason why every single person on the internet who was around at the time hate Cassie with a passion. I only know bits and pieces of it but let's just say it doesn't make her look favourable. I've actually been meaning to inform myself properly because there's also been accusations of plagiarism and online harassment, but I don't wanna start any drama by making definitive statements as long as I don't have the full picture. I'm relatively knew to the tsc fandom so idk if this has ever been discussed. I feel like most of us are probably too young to know and would have had no reason to actively seek out this information. I'd be curious if anyone has thoughts though.

I wonder if Cassandra Clare goes through the ao3 tags while writing malec. She’s given us:

1. Drank (sassy) Alec

2. Domestic malec

3. malec sickfic (quaad)

4. shower sex (almost)

5. Professor Magnus Bane

6. BAMF Alec Lightwood and BAMF Magnus Bane

(I can’t think of more but i swear there are many. Feel free to add on)

I hope I didn't just summon all the Cassie apologists/haters I don't wanna spread unnecessary negativity but also I feel that as someone who is so invested in the books CC has written I should probably have some opinion on her as a person to at least know if I need to consciously separate the art from the author and I have a sneaking suspicion that there's a can of worms waiting for me idk it's weird to me that no one in the fandom talks about it or even seems to know when she's apparently so notorious outside the fandom and I'm sorry if I broke some unspoken taboo again not me trying to get at anything I'm genuinely just kinda confused and uninformed
