saw @skippersthecat's post about teruhashi (i even wrote a frantic comment under it too !!!!) and now im remembering why teruhashi is one of my favorite characters and why i will defend her 4ever .......

okok i remember one part of an ep where its teruhashi walking down a street and then it pans to some of her admirers, one of them being a LITERAL 60 year old man. and im pretty sure WAY older men have gawked at her like that multiple times in the show, and she doesnt even mention it.

that episode where shes literally BEING FOLLOWED ? and apparently its happened to her so often that she can DEDUCE how many people/their genders from their FOOTSTEPS ??? and all she was concerned about was staying perfect, as if she isnt being STALKED ? 🙁

in s2, when they came back from being stranded on the island, and the newspaper club spread rumors about saiki taking sexual/inappropriate pictures of her (IN THE ARTICLE ITS SAID WITHOUT HER CONSENT TOO) and a BUNCH of guys went to saiki ASKING FOR THE PICTURES ? "to destroy them" YEAH TOTALLY 😒

and she doesn't say anything about these things because (its a comedy series) shes been dealing with it SINCE BIRTH. LITERALLY.

its SHOWN that when she was FUCJING BORN there were men watching her. HEY GUYS !! BABIES ARE CUTE BUT FATHERS SHOULDNT BE HUDDLED AROUND A CUTE BABY GIRL LOOKING AT HER.

and it's not like shes ever had a break from this harassment, her own brother views her as an object. multiple times where makoto has invaded her privacy and harassed her, so shes not even safe in her own home.

AND ALL OF THIS TREATMENT AND SHE STILL KEEPS UP HER PERFECT PRETTY GIRL PERSONA. ☹️ her whole self worth, her IDENTITY is being a perfect pretty girl. even if she hadn't been facing this her whole life, she wouldn't say anything because she is a people pleaser who sacrifices herself. she needs someone who doesn't view her as a god, or an object. thats why she likes saiki ☹️☹️☹️

let me rant about alastor and how i like his character a lot !!!

when i watched the pilot (a few days after it released {even though i should NOT have been watching that}) i remembered alastor as this all powerful horrifying intimidating totally cool mysterious guy. yeah he was all fun and transatlantic, but his impression was mysterious and powerful.

and he's still horrifying and intimidating, but hes so much more HUMAN in the show. which is good because he WAS a human !! hes not all powerful, but he IS a total attention hog and he IS a little prick !!!

i like how he still fucked with lucifer even though he could be obliterated in a second, and i LOVE how he reacts when people dont give him attention. it just makes him so much more than just the kinda cool, powerful, intimidating character.

during the overlord meeting when caramel doesnt really give a shit where he was, he gets annoyed. this little attention hog cant stand that she doesnt care !!! and earlier in that episode, with zesty, he was all like "pls matpat theorize about me 🙏" WHICH IS SO REAL PLEASE TELL ME WHAT YOU THINK ABOUT ME 🙏🙏 but hes just DYING to know that people were all thinking of him n keeping him in their prayers n shit

and i like how silly he is. him kicking his feet is prime example of this. other examples are him interacting with basically anyone outside of the hotel and niffty, how he treats mimzy, rosie, and niffty are prime examples of his silliness.

him and rosie are SO good together. i could talk about this fucking show FOREVER guys agshshds

and it doesnt clash with him still being a badass, (even if he got his shit got fucked up by adam) hes still menacing and youre still on your toes about what he could do to the hotel and everyone in it.

he just thinks hes all that (all that enough to fuck with THE big boss of hell himself) and he IS really fucking powerful, but compared to the lineup that hotel has, hes just some guy. and i like how thats more apparent in the show. ok thats it bye bye i hope i articulated myself well !!!!

her crush on saiki is incredibly reasonable. it started as her seeking validation, because her entire self worth since birth has been male validation, but over the series its shown how she really comes to care about him.

if you say something like "oh but he obviously doesnt like her back" ?? to US it's obvious that he doesnt outwardly reciprocate her feelings, but to her whenever saiki ignores her, thats just how he is to everyone.

to her, theyve gone on multiple dates, and theyre in the same friend group, so its totally reasonable for her to have some hope still.

(this is very not well written i was EMOTIONAL and SOBBING when i was typing this i will revise it later)

he is NOT stupid. (despite what @euphoric-ghoul says.......) his brother is a genius, 12 phds, got a huge grant, made a perpetual motion machine which is impossible- but despite that, stan is still not stupid.

you cant compare him to his brother, since theyre both very intelligent in their own ways. it takes smarts to fend for yourself after getting kicked out fresh out of highschool, hes a con man, and its shown throughout the series and books that hes acutely aware of what hes doing and what is happening around him.

its a classic street-smart and book-smart situation. although ford is definitely street smart after surviving 30 years in the multiverse.

theyre made to parallel eachother, fords weaknesses are stans strengths- take their social skills. although its played for laughs, stan knows how to talk.

but i hate it when people consider their highschool selves to be the same person now that theyre in their fifties. not only would that be crazy even if they were normal, did you not watch the episode where their entire lives change??? highschool stan was irresponsible, and highschool ford couldnt talk to a girl. those people are completely different from the men who dealt with the supernatural and were left to fend for themselves alone.

especially with tbob coming out and us finding out that dipper and mabels parents dont have a great relationship ->

- this explains why mabel lied in that scene when she overheard stan and fords conversation. she was protecting dipper

- this also explains why dipper possibly staying with ford would bring up so many conflicting emotions for her, she wants the best for him- and she knows their home life isnt the best, and she knows that their parents arguing really affects dipper, but she obviously doesnt want to be alone.

^^ and THIS is why she gave away the rift. not only did she NOT know the ramifications (this was ford and dippers faults for not trusting and telling her such important information {she wouldve understood, she had also faced bill before}) but she believed that MORE SUMMER = more time with the people she loved, more time with dipper without having to face reality alone.

pre-weirdmageddon pines family just needed some group therapy and communication 😞 some people act like the apocalypse was mabels fault when she didnt even know ?? and she didnt know because FORD (and dipper but ford was makinf him) purposefully kept the rift from mabel and stan. dipper KNOWS that mabel and stan would understand, since they both have dealt with bill ALONGSIDE dipper. cmon guys.
