I think that the anime writers are preparing to set up the backstory between Hamayu and Wakamiya bc presenting it like in the manga or the novel is a bit hurried. They will probably return to the graveyard scene wherein Wakamiya was able to make a dry branch of cherry blossom bloom again to offer to Hamayu’s parents. I wonder if Nadeshiko will appear. If she would, I wonder which part. Or she’s now going to be forgotten or relegated to the past.

Besides, after the scandal with Atsufusa, the Southern House has lost its face proving that there is an intent to kill the Crown Prince.
