It’s really cute in a platonic way (even though Moxie deserves better) but I think the romantic subtext was entirely unnecessary and yet another example of unneeded straight romance in YA fiction, a trope I thought Daniel Handler was above, especially with the implied Moxie/Lemony/Ellington love triangle.
