Wave Crashes
Wave crashes
Against the halcyon shore
Sweeping the silvery beach
A lover coming home
Only to leave again
It never stays
Like the moon that fades
To give way to the day
I watch your face beam
As the sun kisses it
Feel my heart aches
For I can only stare at it
Such a tragedy that I
I fell in love with the moon
That no matter how I yearn
I won't hold it like my own
For just like the sun,
I can only hope to rise soon
Maybe sooner than I used to
So I can catch your light at dawn
But I would run extra miles
You and I won't still collide
So I whisper to the stars
Baby I'm halfway home
-halfway home (I fell in love with the 🌙 )

You came to me in the most unexpected time. Now I can't read a book without hearing you; can't write a poem without feeling you. I breathe you between the lines; ink you like a treasured memory. And as I close my eyes I see you behind my lids: alive and vivid. You used to be a dream I hold in my sleep. Now you're a reality that makes me excited to wake up for you make me fall in love.
You make me fall in love,
Katie, 21:30
It's okay to fall. Heroes do that most of the time. You're not forbidden to crawl. Soldiers do that too, in the battleground. This is your life, this is your story. You can live and write it in your own version. But while it's okay to fall and to crawl. Remember to rise through it all.
-remember to rise,
katie, a time to heal

Thank you for setting me free. For choosing to let go. For giving up on me. You know how I broke the moment your footsteps died in the hall. Tore my heart out when the truth that we’re finally over dawned. I was desperate, crying for hours over a love I thought would last. For weeks I kept imploring the gods. In grief, I was begging you to come back.
Then suddenly, I was no longer grieving. Suddenly, I was no longer pained. Suddenly, I was no longer mumbling your name.
For in the darkness, he found me. Brave as Lochinvar, he took my hand. Suddenly, I am looking at the sunset. Suddenly, I notice his eyes are golden. Suddenly he becomes my one and only. Suddenly, he means the world to me.
-He means the world to me,
Katie, 20:00
Someday I'll stop hurting
The wounds I wear today
Will finally close
As I turn the pages
Of my book
I am the hero
That you took
Advantage of
I will rise
And stop hurting
You will watch me
A child outgrowing
All your insecurities
And the bottle
Where you store
All sweet nothings
That used to lure
Me into believing
In empty phrases
I will not fit in there
Anymore
So I need
To revolutionize
My thoughts
Free myself
From your tentacles
That bind me to a story
Which plot
No longer appeal
To my
Metamorphosing
Soul
a time to heal,
katie, a time to heal
