One Of The Freys Stepped Forward, A Knight Long And Lean Of Limb, Clean-shaved But For A Grey Mustache

One of the Freys stepped forward, a knight long and lean of limb, clean-shaved but for a grey mustache as thin as a Myrish stiletto. “The Red Wedding was the Young Wolf’s work. He changed into a beast before our eyes and tore out the throat of my cousin Jinglebell, a harmless simpleton. He would have slain my lord father too, if Ser Wendel had not put himself in the way.”

[…]

“And many more. Mine own son Tytos was amongst them, and my daughter’s husband. When Stark changed into a wolf, his northmen did the same. The mark of the beast was on them all. Wargs birth other wargs with a bite, it is well-known. It was all my brothers and I could do to put them down before they slew us all.”

— A Dance with Dragons, Davos III

Should the Red Wedding 2.0 happen, it will likely be Lady Stoneheart and the Brotherhood that orchestrate the events. But what if all that carnage and blood draws actual wolves to the Twins?

Nymeria’s wolf pack is growing in numbers and they’ve become quite prolific throughout the Riverlands. I can’t see any reason why Lady Stoneheart or any of the Brotherhood members would want to clean up the aftermath of the slaughter/bury the dead. The strong scent of blood would surely be sensed by the wild wolves roaming around. Winter is here now and prey is growing scarce. The wolves will want to feast.

The original Red Wedding may have had the Freys spreading false rumours about wolves attacking them. But come the second Red Wedding, the Freys will be eating their own words when real wolves do descend upon them.

The people of Westeros may or may not find out about the humans who orchestrated the Red Wedding 2.0. But they will certainly be aware of the wolf pack that has overrun the Twins, and considering how superstitious they can be, they will believe that the Old Gods have come down from the North to seek vengeance.

giving myself heart palpitations by thinking about how arya thought her mother wouldn't love her after what she did to survive. questioning whether she would actually want her back when catelyn would have moved mountains to have her back.

(in any au where catelyn lives sansa and bran would ask these questions too. would you love even if i forced my mind on friends mind? if i commited a skinchanger' sin? would you still love me if i was the mastermind behind the death of your childhood friend? if i was a part of reason why father died?

and catelyn would say that she would love them still.

catelyn would love them so much.)

tw child death, violence, rancid sex, the usual locked tomb shit

I think a LOT about Pelleamena and Priamhark because imo them fucking during a child genocide is the most horrifying thing that happened in this whole series and thank Jod it was offscreen. I have intrusive thoughts about it.

I’m also in awe of how their arc is a little Greek tragedy on its own. They make a terrible choice that a) gives Harrow incredible skill at necromancy and b) removes every companion except the one person whose blood could move that stone. If that wasn’t enough, they then proceed to create the exact conditions (abusing each girl in a way that turns them against the other) that cause Harrow to get Gideon’s blood on her very powerful hands, on a day where she’s suicidal enough to end the whole damn world.

If they’d allowed the girls to be friendly instead of role modeling how to bully Gideon, they wouldn’t have fought; if they’d treated Harrow like a person instead of a tool burdened with the survival of the whole damn House, she wouldn’t have wanted to die; if they’d left a single other child alive Harrow wouldn’t have given Griddle the time of day. Hell, they could've waited five minutes to see whether opening the Tomb actually ended the world. But nope, at every single turn they made the Exact Wrong decision while trying to puppet fate and fashion death into a tool they could wield, and look who's the puppet tool now
