hehehe okay so we have: the "what i want to do" vs "the what i (think i) should do", betrayal and lies, and, of course, actual villains:

I mean just look at them
Serge at the beginning is a reckless kid who would do everything for his sisters, and he does. He's immature, a little silly, and, in his idiotic way, actually very cute and sweet, but extremely alone and living in constant trauma. When he meets Akthi he learns what being understood means. After a couple of very bad traumas one after the other, he finds himself feeling even more alone, but now he is also unable to trust anyone, and he buries himself into work. At the end he will learn to let go and will change his priorities from someone who doesn't actually know him and doesn't need him to someone who knows him and loves him anyway, and also very much needs him
The stakes here are on the roof. i guess i like it when stakes are high
Day 11
What/Who is the main conflict or antagonist of your story? Why did you choose this?
How does your protagonist grow / develop over the course of the story?
How high do you like the stakes to be in a story? Is this different between things you like to read and things you like to write?

To read, I think what i crave most in books is comfort, judging my favorite books of all time: The Eye Of The Wolf -L'œil du loup- by D. Pennac (fav childhood book, still holds, still comfort me like no other), Lord Of The Rings by J.R.R. Tolkien (do i even have to say anything?) and Death on Credit -Mort à crédit- by L.F. Celine (just. majestic. incredible. don't expect comfort tho, its the messiest angstiest thing i've ever read, but still full of the most gentle love for life ever that almost made me cry at the end). And yes, i think it's my favorite to write too. Even in the angstiest situations, i need to put all the comfort possible <3
Everything i look at inspires me. For my current wip, the main inspirations were Resevoir Dogs by Tarantino, i think Hannibal (the show) and also probably my obsession: Gotham (the show (the one that kind of sucks)). Yes i know i just wrote a paragraph about comfort and then i mention these three very not comfortable media shut up
Oh no okay. From my current wip, definetly Akthi:

He is my baby, i love him. I don't know why i love him so much, but i do. He's layered, complicated, and i find him very interesting. At first glance he is a walking contraddicion: he's not loyal at all, but he also is; he's not trustworthy, but he's also the only one you can really trust; he's not a loving guy at all, but he will shower you with love; he's outgoing and silly and always around people, but he actually hates everyone (literally); he's chilled out and cool, but he has never lets himself take a moment to breathe. And in some magic way i think it actually makes sense for him to be that way (but no spoilers eheh)
Day 2
What’s your favorite genre to read and why? Is it your favorite to write, too? Why or why not?
What media, if any, has inspired you? How?
Do you have a favorite character of yours? Who is it and why?
Lmao idk i guess every holiday that exists in the real world, since it's like set in France, in a random made up city in a un-specified period of the past
I write on my computer, usually with music blasting in my ears. Most of the time i need to be alone bc if not i can't concentrate. But if i'm writing notes on my phone, then everywhere is good. You gotta lock that idea before it disappears!
Both and it's a nightmare. I used to just dive in with just a vague idea of what i wanted to write (aka, just characters), and that didn't work very well. I've never finished a story. Now i try to plan it better, i still dive in, but then i keep thinking and planning and the story evolves and usually the first things i wrote doesn't end up in the story at all. I still haven't finished a story to this day, but i'm way closer than i've ever been :D
Day 4
What holidays, if any, exist in your story? Tell us about them! If you don’t have any, why not?
How do you like to write and why? What’s your setup? Do you need a specific environment to write in?
Are you a planner or a dive right in and hope for the best kind of writer? What do you like about your style / why?

The moment seemed to stretch before Edward reached out for him and hugged him to his chest. Oswald felt himself breathe as Edward’s breathing hit the side of his head.
“ Dum,” Edward said quietly, “ It means hug. It also means to hide. Domni makes a request, hug me… hide me. ”
“ Domni…” Oswald echoed, and was pleasantly surprised when Edward held him tighter.
Skin-to skin, heart-to-heart, they eventually fell asleep.
( the penguin and the peacock, chapter 7 )
no because i don't set goals because they make me anxious. but maybe i should set goals so i'd actually do stuff lmfao
I HAVE THE ENDING PLANNED!
idk write
Day 13
Did you have any writing goals for this year? Why or why not? And if so, did you meet them?
What’s one achievement you’re proud of this year?
What’s one goal you hope to achieve in 2024?
Settings! I usually have my dialogues planned out before
lol i don't really draw scenary but i probably should. sometimes i have a clear idea in my head, but it doesn't make any sense if you think about more than 5 minutes
i thrive when i write emotions, because i can use a million metaphores!!! so idk i don't think so.
Day 9
Which is harder for you to write: Settings or dialog?
When writing a description of a room or an outdoor scene, do you need to draw a picture of the area? Or do you have a clear picture of the area in your head?
Do you find that writing a certain emotion (fear, lust, happiness, jealousy) is harder to write than others for you? Why is that?
