Oh man, I love seeing more world building in this chapter! Seokjin is, as always with Shanna’s writing, a goddamn delight and I want to be his friend. He has zero filter and zero tolerance for BS and lying. I also love that we got to see Jungkook thrive in his element at the fundraiser. So far we’ve only seen him as the sexy fuckboy but here we see his skills with people as a whole. Charming in conversation, attentive, knows what to say to get even the stingiest of rich folks to loosen their purse a little bit for a good cause. It’s like you get to see him embrace the role he was born into, as a “well if I don’t have a choice, might as well be good at it.” It’s like the opposite approach OC has - she has the skills from how she was raised but wants to do well DESPITE her upbringing, Jungkook has the same skills and same upbringing but acknowledges he does well BECAUSE of it. And Liam….oh boy. I’m getting major “Hans from Frozen” vibes from him, so that’s what I see him as in my head. I might be reading too much into the line about “oh your company is great, but I was also searching out YOU” (majorly paraphrasing here LOL)….but the tension between him and Jungkook, and throwing Yoongi a backhanded compliment? I can’t wait to see what that was all about. It’s gonna destroy me I KNOW IT.

(Speaking of Yoongi bless his heart for making something I would actually eat at a fancy function…don’t mind me, just stealing an entire platter of Buffalo chicken wontons and spinach puffs shhhhhh)

So The Season takes place in a fictional country, in modern times, because I couldn’t get the tone right for a period piece…then I changed a side character because it made more sense for him to be someone else, and NOW I have rewritten parts of it for a 3rd time because in the original context of the story Jin would have to be Seokjin Kim (since I have named original characters as the western based First Name Family Name style) and I hated it. It just sounds so wrong in my brain. So now there are TWO fictional counties and the one Jin is from in the story is in the Family Name First Name style so his name is the proper looking (and properly said) Kim Seokjin…..my brain hurts and I’m tired 🤣🤣

Oh this was really cute and soft! I loved that they bonded over reading when she was younger, and she gave him her name as a kid out of pure childhood innocence and politeness, not him tricking her or anything. Then finding each other again when she came back, even though he felt so guilty about the reasons why….ugh. I just felt the connection they have, you know? Even the smut scene was passionate and soft. I loved that it wasn’t like a 180 flip to something rough or harsh just because it’s a smutty scene. He’s such a good man faerie.
