Nooo, this is why you should absolutely add to posts! I love hearing people's thoughts and memories from early years of fandoms I've been in. It's also interesting to see the ways different fandoms crossover with trends but also how they stay remote from each other. Thankfully, I find it pretty rare to come across fics with really clunky epithets these days. So much so that it's super jarring when I do. And maybe those writers use them because they do like them, which, you know, more power to them. I'll always encourage people to write what makes them happy. I don't think hobby writing always has to be an exercise in striving to be the most polished, professionally-edited-looking you can be. As long as they're enjoying their process and understand, like you said, that it might not always appeal to a broader audience, hey, more power to them! ✌️
