Stain On The Sink - Mingyu
stain on the sink - mingyu

summary - mingyu is sitting on the edge of the tub, staring at his phone. for some reason, he had thought that you, who has never even dyed your own hair, let alone someone else’s, would be the perfect person to bleach his whole head. you agreed after mingyu said he’d buy you dinner if you did it.
-> established relationship, kissing, fluff, sexual joke implication
the smell of bleach stuck to every surface in the apartment, no matter how many windows you opened. you knew it was inevitable but fuck, did it have to be so bad?
you walk back into the bathroom, the smell only worsening.
“your scalp burning yet?”
“i can feel it, but it's not hurting." you sigh in relief at that, you didn't want to have to drive mingyu to the hospital because of your combined stupidity.
you clean the supplies up off the sink, the box of leftover bleach finding a home in the back of the cabinet, shoves the plastic bag you'd received at the convenience store into the corner. after you're finished, you move away from the sink, nudge mingyu's leg with your own to get him to scoot over enough for you to sit. he complies, but even with the added space, you're thigh to thigh, the ledge uncomfortable as all hell.
mingyu looks up from his phone, meets your eyes before slipping a hand into your hair. he combs it back in the way he’d learned you like, done it so much it'd become muscle memory, repeats the action. mingyu thinks this is the most content he’d ever seen you, eyes shut and a soft smile laying across your lips.
you sit like that for a while, it could have been five minutes or fifteen. neither of you know, your only measure of time being that mingyu's phone had faded to black while he was preoccupied with you.
mingyu offhandedly comments, “your hair is so soft, i don’t think mine has been like that ever since i first dyed it,”
you remember that, the shock you felt when mingyu walked into your apartment with dark brown hair. the difference between his previously black hair and the dyed brown wasn’t much, not in reality, but to you it was like his whole world shifted. you can still recount how pleased mingyu looked with it, his laugh when you couldn’t find the words to convey his support. and you could definitely recall the newfound confidence mingyu had after, low hanging shirts and burning grins.
“i liked your dark brown hair, it suited you.”
mingyu hums, then asks, “is it your favorite?”
you don’t think much about his reply, mostly because you'd already spent hours debating this topic on your own, “no, i like that dark black you did a little more,”
“makes sense why you bought that then,” mingyu says, pointing at the unopened box of black dye that's peeking through the wrinkles of the convenience store bag. you may have attempted to persuade him into doing that instead, unfortunately without any luck.
glancing at your phone, you see that the timer you set has a minute left. you shove the screen in mingyu's face, disorienting the other for a moment. when his eyes focus on the numbers, he pats your thigh with his hand, stands up, and stretches his back.
“shampoo?” he asks, elbow stretched behind his head.
you hum in confirmation, get off the tub ledge and grab your gloves again, the tight nitrile meeting your skin once more. you pull the shower curtain to cover the outside, twist the knob to turn the showerhead on.
while turned away, you feel arms circle around your waist, chin digging into the flesh of your shoulder. though you don’t want to, you tug one of mingyu's arms away from you and bring him towards the shower.
“put your head in, dummy.”
mingyu surrenders, leaning forward into the water, allowing you to shampoo the bleach out. you can’t make a final decision yet, but in your unprofessional opinion, it doesn’t look half bad. sure, it isn’t an a-grade job, but you never claimed to be a miracle worker, only someone with two hands and box bleach.
when you're certain you've gotten it all out, you turn the shower off and grab a towel from the rack beside mingyu.
you begin to ruffle the towel against mingyu's hair, intentionally shaking mingyu's head side to side. he looks like a wet dog at this point, head drooped and yielding to the attack.
you think you're as far as you'll get with a towel and tap mingyu's chin to get him to look up.
though you were surprised when mingyu first dyed his hair, and you'd thought that was long enough ago for you to not be affected by any change to his hair color, you felt that breathless feeling from before all over again.
mingyu looked good, even with his shabbily bleached hair and old pajama shirt, because of course he did.
you have been staring for far too long, you know that. mingyu breaks the silence with, “so, you gonna give me a blow job?”
the moment is gone just like that, you slap mingyu on the side with the towel.
“do you have no decorum, mingyu?”
“i meant the hair dryer,” mingyu quips, but the smirk on his lips says otherwise.
“sure,” you reply, words coated thickly with sarcasm.
when mingyu turns away to look in the mirror, leaning over the sink, hands running through his hair, he simply says, “thanks, babe,” before taking the towel out of your hands and beginning to hang it on the rack, in its previous spot.
“you’re so unfair,” you whine, and mingyu has the audacity to look confused, eyebrows scrunching as he looks over at you, extremely lost. you continue, “i bleach your hair, shampoo it out, and towel dry it, and all i get is a thanks? what happened to romance?”
mingyu laughs, head titling to the floor. you hold back a smile, knowing you've got him in the palm of your hand.
“romance? okay,” mingyu's hands meet your waist like they were built to be there, pulls you closer, breath hitting your lips. you like this more than anything else, even if the smell of bleach hasn’t stopped biting your lungs at every inhale you take. “thank you so much, y/n. how could i ever repay you?”
you find you don't need to answer that because your lips have already met, and words that didn’t need to be spoken are shared between your mouths, a secret for only you and the walls of the bathroom.
bleaching hair isn’t so bad. not when you get the reward of your still-gloved hands in mingyu's newly bleached hair and your bodies pressed against each other. you also get your free dinner, so it's a win for you in the end.

Oh, Baby!

Pairings: seungkwan x reader
Genre: slight angst (if you'd squint), fluff
Hi! Similar to my previous works, this is not yet proofread and was written poorly (I know). I was planning to post this on SK's birthday but I got distracted. Anyway, I hope you'll like this and please let me know how I can improve my writings. Thank you! :)
Ps. I was listening to this song and got inspired to write this fic hehe. You might want to give it a listen ^^
Pps. Belated happy birthday to our bootamin! Let's give them more love this year <3

Seungkwan is adamant. He knows what he wants and will dilligently work to earn his goals. He's never hasty with decisions and often check on the pros and cons repeatedly before acting on it. True to his friends' words, he is indeed one resolute man.
But even the strongest have weaknesses. Batman has a kryptonite— and so is he, who's now unsure whether he did the right thing for his heart's sake, for his sake.
For a moment he wished that there is a time machine to undo his hasty decisions brought by the emotions he tries so hard to keep in. But no such thing could erase his messages and a promise of song he would lovingly sing, wishing you'd hold onto the words like how you got him wrapped around your fingers.
"You're out of it again, Seungkwan. Are you drunk?" the sound of your voice brought him back to reality, following your chuckles as you tell him how long he was staring blankly at you.
"Shut up. I wasn't even able to drink with the members tonight" he retorted as he passed you a can of beer. "I pity them, though. I'm having one right now"
"I don't think one can of beer can get you drunk. If that was your plan for inviting me tonight, you failed Boo Seungkwan" you rolled your eyes at him and munched on the snacks you bought on the way to the hill.
"I wasn't planning on getting drunk. I told you we'll be stargazing" with dismissive hand gesture, the apple of his eyes replied, "It's the first time you weren't thinking thoroughly. There are no stars. Can't you see?" For the nth time, you rolled your eyes at him and quickly changed your position. He gave you a glance as you sat beside him and rested your head on his shoulders, continuing to munch on your snacks.
For a second, he looked at the sky and saw nothing but dark clouds. But was it really the first time he didn't think through things? There are more times than that, if he would remember corre tly. Like how he skipped practice to make sure you'll get home safe or how he bailed on his trip, planned months before, with Seokmin the last minute so he can accompany you to your family dinner — but he will never tell you that. At least, not now.
He huffed. "I guess we'll be SKYgazing then." He took a sip of his own beer and let his eyes wander around. The surroundings felt like home and kind of gave him light albeit dark. This is how he pictured his future, long ago. Peace. Silence. With you.
It doesn't matter if you'll end up with someone else. He promised himself that he'd be the best friend you can always count on. He'd stay with you through thick and thin, be the best uncle your future children could ever ask for, and give you all the support you need even if he's just on the sidelines.
But, as long as no dude has the guts to take you away from him, he'd wait for a miracle— for you to magically see him from a different light and realize how your best friend is smitten and is actually head over heels in love with you. If only... if only you could see.
To fulfill his promise earlier, he started singing lines from their song imperfect love, knowing how much you loved it because it gives you feelings you can't explain.
Seungkwan didn't realize that you linked your arms with his the entire time, not until your grip tightened as the song came to an end. He wouldn't dare look at you for he knows he might kiss you right then and there because of how giddy he feels inside. "used to this.."
"What did you say?" you let go of his arms only to turn and face him. "I said, I can get used to this." You started. "You know... it's just me and you, us. Amidst the chaotic world we live in, I can only ever find peace if I'm with you. I don't mind living my life if every single day would be spent with you, Seungkwan."
The man was loss for words. His brain went haywired. Was he dreaming? Was that a confession of sort? He wished somebody would pinch him.
"I... wow. I don't know what to say" he wished he just kept his mouth closed after seeing a look of disappointment crossed over your face. If he felt bad after saying those words, he now feels worse after you gave a weak smile in return followed by you, telling him to ignore what happened. "Just forget I said a single thing" you added.
"Wait. What? No, no!" He panicked, not knowing what to do with his hands but ended up reaching over to grab yours. "Was that a confession? Do you like me more than a best friend should?" He questioned.
You gave him a confused look but anwered his questions nonetheless. "Well, yes... and yes" before you could utter another word, you were enveloped in a tight, warm hug. Him whispering how much he prayed to be in the same exact moment you are now and eventually confessing the feelings he tried to surpress.
He checked the time, 11:58, without letting you go, he muttered "I'm too shy to see your face while I tell you this... but since it is still my birthday, would you do the honor to fulfill one of my wishes, and be mine?"
On the same spot at midnight, his wish came true, sealed with a tighter hug and a sweet kiss not in haste.
how the heck does he look so good in the banner

“Her,” he said and your eyes followed the direction of his gaze, your eyes landing on a woman, around fifty or sixty you guessed, and dressed in all purple.
“Ah yes, a purple lady, a fine specimen too…” you began, imitating David Attenborough and letting your brain spin a story of assumptions about the lady you had just laid your eyes on.
“Here with two of her old friends that she only sees three times per year for their birthdays because they have no common interests anymore. Definitely works with fiber arts because there is no way anyone would give away a poncho gorgeous as that one. This is, of course, not to mention the fact that she’s on a strict pescetarian diet, but not the regular shmegular one, but one where she consumes almost exclusively everything that comes from the sea.”
“She tried weed back in the day, and brings it up whenever someone insinuates that she never does anything fun,” Seungkwan declared confidently, nodding as he continued observing the lady who had now taken her seat along with her two companions at the fancy table set for them by the other end of the restaurant.
“The man next to her is getting the stinky eye from her - he has for sure been flirting with the third one for years, but our purple lady can’t say anything about it because of the fact that he keeps a huge secret of hers.”
Seungkwans eyes lit up, “He caught the purple lady seeing the other ladies’ ex-husband!” he exclaimed, just a tad too loud, making the people closest to your little table in the corner of the restaurant turn to glance at you both. You both stared at each other with huge eyes, trying to hold back your laughs as you waited for them to go back to ignoring you. Once they did you both began giggling like crazy, “Okay, okay, what about those two teens?” you said, throwing the freestyle ball over to Seungkwan.
“Mmh, yeah so, they’re cousins, and they were close as kids right, but now they have absolutely nothing in common, and they’re probably so annoyed at each other,” he said, picking up his glass to take another sip of his wine.
“Naah, I can’t agree with that. Okay that they’re cousins, but they’re definitely close, just look at the way they’re literally fighting with their eyes!”
Seungkwan put his glass down and squinted towards the two sitting on opposite sides of their table, both seemingly trying to fight the urge to kick each other in the shin.
“Nevermind, I see it now,” he admitted, “They’re waiting for the dinner to end so they can go to a party one of their friends is throwing, and that one,” he pointed rather blatantly at one of the teens, “that one is hiding a bottle they stole in their bag,” he said with a tone of irrefutability that made you grin.
“The other one is mad because they stole it from their house before they left and they know that they’re the only one that will get in trouble for the whole thing if anyone catches on to what they’re doing since they’re supposed to be the responsible and sensible one,” you added with a chuckle, watching how the teens were now sticking their tongues out at each other and loving how childish they were acting.
“Kids, always at each others’ throats doing illegal shit,” Seungkwan said, shaking his head in disapproval making you burst out in laughter and subsequently putting a huge smile on Seungkwan’s lips.
“What about those two then?” he said still looking at you, you looked around, confused as to who exactly he meant.
“Which ones, the old lady and the young guy with the hipster beard?”
“No, the young couple off in the corner, snickering and giggling like a couple of idiots,” he said with a smirk playing at his lips as he picked up his glass and waited for you to catch on.
“Ooh,” you said as you got what he was trying at, “those two. Yeah, they’re definitely idiots alright. Look at them sitting there, having finished their desert forever ago, just getting tipsier with every glass they order,” you said and rolled your eyes as if you were just so embarrassed for the poor suckers.
“And they keep staring at people and whispering to each other, do you think they’re criminals seeing who they can scam for a free meal?” he gasped with sarcastic shock.
“Or are they those types of people, who are so caught up in their own bubble that they don’t even realize that everyone can hear when they whisper incredibly loudly to each other as they make up stories about people’s lives for fun,” you said and put your hand over your mouth, being as melodramatic as you could without breaking character.
Seungkwan nodded, “They’re definitely disgustingly in love with one another, absolute suckers for each other, and I would bet money on the fact that the boyfriend over there is so stupidly in love with them that he has been wanting to lean over the table and kiss them the entire night. I bet he’s already impatient and ready to leave so he can be all over them as soon as they get out of here,” he said with a warm smile as he spoke.
“I bet they have been wanting to leave so they can kiss him properly too,” you said, your smile matching his and you both chuckled, indeed so caught up in your little bubble in the corner to even care about how anyone that overheard you would have shaken their head and muttered: “fucking people in love that have no sense of when and where you can be all lovey-dovey,” and rolling their eyes at you while they thought back to when they were the ones sitting at that table fawning over the one they were so madly in love with.
“I’ll get the check if you get our coats,” he said and you agreed and went to fetch your coats where you had checked them in a couple of hours ago.
When you had gotten them you waited by the exit when you saw Seungkwan walking towards you. His hair was half dragged back to reveal a bit of his forehead and as he walked up to you he casually put his wallet back into his pants as he walked up to you with a huge grin plastered to his face. His expression, combined with the hue of pink his cheeks had turned, revealed just how tipsy he had gotten during the few hours you had eaten at the restaurant and you couldn’t help but think about how adorable yet handsome he looked.
You pushed the door open and walked out into the night air of the city still alive and shining with life, the cold feeling surprisingly pleasant against your skin. You had barely gotten out on the sidewalk when you felt your entire world become a sudden blur, the hand on your waist and the lips that attached themselves to yours being the only thing keeping you grounded and simultaneously sending you soaring through the night sky.
When you opened your eyes as Seungkwan pulled back you both smiled widely at each other and you stole a quick peck from his warm lips that tasted of the wine you had just been sipping on before you stabilized yourself and laughed at how he had fulfilled exactly what he had said he wanted just a moment ago inside the restaurant.
“Wanna go somewhere else?” he asked, his eyes glimmering in the light of the streetlights shining down upon you.
“What if… we went to a karaoke bar?” you suggested, wiggling your eyebrows as you walked hand in hand with him and turned so you were facing him, walking almost backward as you tried to wiggle your way to a yes from him.
He chuckled, his eyes sparkling again in the warm light, “Yes yes, let’s go sing but please, get back here so you don’t fall and die today.”
You got a smug expression on your face, very satisfied with your persuasion skills this evening, mentally pinning ‘eyebrow wiggling’ as a thing that works on tipsy Seungkwan before you obliged and turned yourself back around so you wouldn’t risk falling over or walking into anything.
The giddy excitement from the idea of getting to scream your lungs out at the nearest karaoke place made you speed up your steps, dragging Seungkwan until you got too far ahead of him and you let go of his hand.
“Come on Boo, let’s gooooooo!” you shouted out into the calm street as you skipped down the sidewalk with your boyfriend jogging up to catch up with you.
.・゜✭・..・。.・゜✭・. .・。.・゜✭・..・。.・゜✭・..・。.・゜✭・..・。.・゜✭・.
When you reached the bar closest to where you had eaten your dinner, you immediately got into a room and began singing all the songs in your repertoire; of course, messing up about 79% of every note yourself while Seungkwan was hitting at least 62% more notes than you yourself managed to.
You were putting on your absolute best performance, shouting “A WHOLE NEW WORLD” into the mic as you spun around and pretended to be flying through the night air on a carpet with Seungkwan and your imaginary monkey.
“Wooooo BOO!!” you shouted when it was time for Seungkwan’s solo part of the song, and when he began singing you cheered, throwing fake roses as his feet as you pretended to cry to his performance as Jasmine. You got up and finished your performance shouting whenever you saw a camel or a cool river in the desert you flew over on the screen in front of you.
You were both absolutely exhausted from your extravagant performance when the song came to an end, both of you falling together like two sacks of potatoes right next to each other on the sofa placed toward the wall of the room. When you heard the first notes of “I’ve had the time of my life” you couldn’t help but smile and look over at Seungkwan who was just as wiped out as you, mainly putting the track on as a calming and nostalgic background instrumental.
Neither of you could help it though, the impulse to sing overtook you. You both tried your best to follow along for a while, but in the end you both gave up in favor of just breathing as you looked up at the ceiling and the lights that shifted from green to purple to some sort of reddish-orange hue.
Chuckling at your exhaustion, you turned your heads to look at one another. “Your Jasmine is incredible,” you breathed out, smiling when Seungkwan smirked at you and kissed you hastily before saying “Thank you, you weren’t too shabby yourself.”
You scoffed at his compliment, but continued to stare at him where he was sitting; admiring his side profile and being entranced by the way his chest was still heaving a bit from having been active for so long.
“Damn, now I need to kiss you,” you said, sighing in a resigning manner, making Seungkwan look at you with a small smile on his lips, and his eyes glimmering in the lights coming from all around.
“Is that so? I mean, you’re gonna have to be the one to move if you wanna kiss me that bad,” he explained with a smug look on his face, making you pout for just a second before you heaved yourself off the couch only to sit down across his lap a foot away, placing your arms around his neck and playing with the hair on the back of his head.
“Happy?” you smiled, knowing he was from the way he was grinning.
“Very happy,” he said and you kissed him, slow and sweet.
“Me too,” you whispered when you pulled your lips off of his for a second before you kissed him again, both of you smiling like the lovesick fools you were. But now the last chorus of the song was about to play and as the beat dropped you both pulled apart and began belting the “I’ve had, the time of my life~” before you looked back at each other.
Now you were both laughing messes, this wasn’t the first ‘belting a song makeout intermission’ you had experienced together, and it probably wasn’t the last, but it didn’t matter. Nothing matters because you’re his, and he’s yours, and you’re in love, and absolutely nothing else could matter more.

Favorite Dinner
POV: You had a hard day and Vernon is there to comfort you.
Characters: Vernon, Y/N
Genre: fluff
Warning: none
Word count: 269
You turn the key to your house and enter exhausted. This day has been the longest you have had in a while and one of the hardest. Nothing seemed to be going your way and your brain just wouldn’t cooperate with you. You were frustrated with your mood and the day you had and you were really just looking forward to laying down and starting over the next day.
You walk in and see your boyfriend, Vernon, holding a plate of food in the kitchen with a big smile on his face. As you walk further into the space you also hear the songs to the playlist you and Vernon created together. You sigh smiling.
“Hi,” he says setting down the plate and walking toward you.
“Hi,” you say perking up a little bit at the sight of him. You glance at the plate of food, as you were quite hungry, and saw he had made you your favorite food.
“Is that what I think it is?” you ask watching him walk towards you.
“Maybe,” he says, his smile growing wider.
Once he reaches you, he wraps his arms around your shoulders and pulls you into a hug.
“I know you had a bad day today and I wanted to make it better,” he says into your hair.
“Thank you,” you say squeezing him a bit tighter before pulling away.
“Of course, now let’s eat,” he says letting go and grabbing your hand to set you down at the table where you both enjoy your favorite meal and spend the rest of the evening in each other’s comforting presence.
