It’s the way the sun has shifted, rays falling differently onto Yoongi’s face to kiss the pale skin beneath his sleepy eyes before scattering out across his cheeks. How the light dapples across the nose that occasionally scrunches in irritation at the countless dust particles floating around, haloing him in a golden glow that you wish you could capture in your memory for safekeeping (and later revisiting, when you inevitably feel the twinge of yearning).

Whew! I’m so glad that I took out several minutes for myself and read this drabble. I loved how you showed Yoongi’s softer side for this part because it definitely shows a near-complete contrast to how he is in more current drabbles. He feels so light and calm...like the quote I picked out🙂.And I also just really love how some of the drabbles tie in with others, for example, this one and the previous drabble and the garden🥺. I can tell you’ve done a lot of planning and research with this entire series and it shows. The flow of events and your words are a true beauty and I can’t wait to read more!

It was by sheer serendipity that he even saw you; a fluke in all honesty. Jeongguk’s eyes never wandered beyond the rows of records bordering the shelves in Yoongi’s store. He usually came in with a purpose, the records he intended to purchase listed methodically in his head. His feet only paused to linger in the backroom where Yoongi stashed the ‘good stuff’ — a myriad of rare vinyls, cherished cassettes and CDs that cost more than his entire life, as Yoongi liked to tell him —  but never for long. Just to see, experience being in the same room as them.  His older friend didn’t appreciate his hands grazing the collection. So Jeongguk kept his curious fingers stowed away in the pockets of his baggy jeans as Yoongi raved about his new find, brown eyes bright with delight. Eventually, Jeongguk meandered over to the counter, the records he’d selected tucked in his grasp as he haggled Yoongi for a discount.

(He never got one. Not even on his birthday).

“Hello?” You call out into the dimly lit depths of your bedroom. For a moment you think you see the candles flicker, a shadow ghost along the wall, but it must have been a moth, because you receive not so much as an echo in return.

“Did it work?” You mutter, now mostly to yourself, and while you look around contemplating this you bring your thumb to your lips, gingerly wiping the blood from your self-inflicted pinprick.

Then, a little embarrassed that you expected company in the first place, you return to your grandmother’s crumbling spell book on the bed, running a chalk dusted finger along the page to make sure you said the right words, holding the old grimoire up and comparing the illustration on the parchment to your own sigil scratched across the worn floorboards in white chalk.

Hi Kay hiii!!!

I honestly think that this piece was serendipitous for two reasons:

I actually went out to do some last-minute school shopping with a friend today, and we were going to go to Barnes & Nobel, but decided not to because it was going to close two minutes later

And two, I was actually getting ready to go to bed, but decided not to because this seemed really interesting and I wanted to read something light and fun before my first day of school. I’m really glad that I did read this btw

Putting this story in bullet points really made the flow of this story enjoyable. It’s quick and soothing and comforting, basically everything that this story holds, and I really think that this was a good move for it. I also really loved the characters: The reader’s wittiness and charms, Namjoon and his cheekiness, and Jimin being a playful and cute little devil. Everything just flowed so well and the fact that there’s so much personality in here and the whole breaking of the forth wall at the beginning really made this piece more intimate and soft and warm. Basically the epitome of how you described the coffee shop. And I really loved the back and forth in the dialogue while they were arguing, and the asides that basically showed how hot Namjoon was😂. It was charming and I found myself smiling alot.
