Mint! (I hope that it’s okay that I call you this) This was so wonderful. And so incredibly hot I was wondering where I could find a Yoongi like that. 

Your stories always bring me so much comfort, I feel like I’m coming home whenever I read one of your stories. Though still the same feeling, this brought something more. I really enjoyed the entire premise of this. Volume isn’t everything, and most of the time, it’s the things that you don’t hear that make the experience more enjoyable (or so I’ve heard). The buzz of text notifications rouses you from a deep sleep. You stare so long and so hard at the messages that the words blur in and out of focus.

God, where is he right now?

Thailand? No.  

The Philippines? You honestly can’t remember.  

It takes a minute for the fog of sleep to lift and now you’re alert. Wide awake and heart pounding at this unexpected exchange. You send back the first question that pops into your mind.

Starting Line

a/n- uh this was going to be really short but then i couldn’t stop writing. i’m a lil rusty, since it’s been so long :’))) so please enjoy!

It was supposed to be a simple dinner date.

All you wanted was one amazing night with the one you loved, full of smiles and good food and pure happiness. With Jungkook’s less-than-ordinary job, it was hard to find the time to go out. He often came home late, or too exhausted to do anything other than go to bed. You weren’t complaining, but you still wished to have some time with your boyfriend that consisted of something other than sleeping. So, as soon as he mentioned going to the grand opening of a new restaurant in town, you were ecstatic.

“You look so wonderful, love,” Jungkook said as he sipped on his champagne. You were wearing his favorite dress, a red one he had bought you on one of his oversea travels. When he had given it to you, he explained that it was one of a kind and that once he saw it, he knew that it couldn’t belong to anyone other than you. Every time you wore it, you remembered those words and felt incredibly special.

You smiled. “You don’t look too bad yourself.” You loved when he got dressed up, especially when he wore a suit. Tonight, he had chosen a navy two-piece- sans the tie- with brown oxfords. Dashing didn’t even begin to explain how good he looked. 

You twirled your fork around your fingers. “You know, you’ve been gone a lot lately. I’m beginning to forget what you look like,” you teased. A look of guilt quickly flashed across his face.

“I know, and I’m really sorry. Things have been a bit tense lately with one of our rival groups and I’m just trying to figure it all out.” He rarely told you the details of his job, insisting that the less you knew, the better in terms of your safety. You knew he was right, but you still loved when he confided in you about it.

“It’s okay, babe. I just miss you is all.” You took another bite of your meal. “What if you-”

Chaos suddenly interrupted you. Gunshots loudly rang out through the dining area and high-pitched screams invaded you ears. Before you had a chance to react, Jungkook had a grip on your arm, pulling you up and shielding you with his body as he ran to the kitchen.

“What the hell is going on?” you gasped as he hid you in a nearby supply closet.

Jungkook roughly ran his hand through his hair and looked around to make sure nobody saw him- or you. “We knew they would attack soon. I just didn’t think it would be like this.”

Your brain pieced together what was going on. This wasn’t just a random attack- one of the another mafia was coming after your boyfriend tonight. You wished you weren’t as scared as you were. You wanted to be fearless like Jungkook, but the screams of pain and loud gunshots terrified you to your bone. “W-What are you going to do?”

“I have to go, just stay here, okay?” He felt around his waistband. “Fuck.” He breathed harshly through his nose but pulled out his gun and pushed it into your hands anyway. “I only brought one, so take mine. If anyone other than me opens the door, you shoot. Do you understand me?”

You looked at the small black pistol in your shaking hands. “Kook, I can’t-”

“You can and you will.” His tone left no room for discussion. Loud shouts came from outside the kitchen, causing Jungkook to hurriedly kiss your forehead and shut the door.

“Please be safe,” you whispered. You had never held a gun before. The feeling was insanely foreign across your fingertips. Jungkook made sure to keep you at arm’s length from his mafia life, so it was safe to say that you have never been stuck in a situation like this before.  

You positioned yourself against the wall, facing the door head on. You held the gun tightly and aimed it directly in front of you. Your finger hovered over the trigger, prepared to pull it whenever it became necessary.

You stayed in that position until your arms began to ache, but the screams paralyzed you and made it impossible to move. Shortly, everything grew silent, making your heart get caught in your throat. You instantly were scared that something happened to Jungkook. He didn’t have a gun, and as far as you knew, he was on his own. Your fear intensified once you heard the doorknob begin to turn.

“Y/N, it’s Jungkook.” Once you saw his face, tears began to leak from your eyes, both from relief and terror. You still couldn’t move, so he had to take the gun from your hands and tuck it into his waistband. He wrapped you in his arms and hugged you tightly.

You pulled away from him and looked him over. “Are you okay?” you asked, sniffling. He had a small cut on his cheek, and blood splattered on his white button-up, but that’s all you could see.

“I’m fine. My other members were close and they helped me out.” He tucked your hair behind your ear. “Are you okay?”

You sighed. “Physically, I’m fine. But mentally, I feel like I was just shoved through a paper shredder.”

Jungkook chuckled. “A paper shredder? You sure have the best analogies.”

You managed to smile a little. “Give me a break, I’m traumatized.”

Jungkook helped you to your feet, keeping an arm around your waist. “It’s rough out there. Keep your eyes closed and I’ll lead you outside.” You didn’t argue. Seeing a bunch of dead bodies wasn’t exactly on your bucket list.

The cool night air soon invaded your senses. “It’s all clear now,” Jungkook said.

You opened your eyes, happy to see his car parked a few yards away. You felt drained, and all you wanted was to curl up in bed next to Kook. “Can we go home?”

“Anything you want, love.”

An hour later, you were relaxed and lounging in your and Jungkook’s ginormous bed, eyes focused on the Queer Eye episode playing in front of you. Your focus quickly shifted once Jungkook walked out of the shower with only a towel around his hips.

“Put some clothes on!” you called out teasingly. He stuck his tongue out at you and ruffled his wet hair.

“You know you love it.” He quickly changed into a pair of sweats and flopped down on the bed beside you. He rested his head on your lap, smiling up at you. “So, I’ve been thinking…”

“Well that can’t be good,” you teased.

“Hush.” He grabbed your hand. “So answer me honestly. Do you still want to be together?”

You heart stopped for the second time that night. “A-Are you breaking up with me?”

“No, no, no.” He sat up and held your face in his hands. “I love you. So much that I would let you go completely if it meant you were safe.”

You shook your head firmly. “I would feel a lot less safe without you by my side. You give me comfort, a place to find solace. If I didn’t have you, I’d be…” The thought of not being with Jungkook brought tears to your eyes.

He hurriedly used his thumbs to wipe away any tear that fell. “Shh, don’t cry. I just wanted to give you the option.” He paused and sighed. “After tonight, I couldn’t stop thinking of what I would’ve done if you had gotten hurt. Just thinking about it made it hard to breathe. I don’t want you to ever be in that situation again, but I wanted to leave this up to you. If you want to leave, at any point, just tell me and I’ll make sure you get away from this life with no strings attached.”

You wrapped your arms around Jungkook’s neck and pulled him against you tightly. “There’s no way I could live without you. I know it’s dangerous to stay, but…it’s a risk I’m willing to take.” You felt a tear on your neck, but you didn’t mention it. Jungkook hid his feelings better than anyone you knew, but you never questioned his love for you, even now.

“Good. I didn’t really plan on how to act if you said yes.” He pulled away and kissed you softly. He must’ve busted his lip slightly, because you could taste the metallic. “I’m the luckiest man in the world to have you,” he whispered against your lips.

“I’m even luckier,” you replied softly.

Later that night, as you began to doze off in Jungkook’s arms, you heard him speak up. “So, uh, tell the truth. You’ve never had a more exciting date, right?” You lifted your head to see him smirking. “Too soon?”

You reached up and flicked his forehead. “Go to sleep, or I’ll never go on another date with you.”

He scoffed. “You don’t mean that.” You gave him a serious look, making the smirk fall from his face. “Uhh, nevermind. Goodnight.”

You giggled, resting your head back onto his chest. “Goodnight, Kook.”

And that it was.

AHHH! I'm so so happy with the way things turned out, especially with the whole Rose situation. Now there is one less person to scream at 😂. And I'm so happy that they've finally admitted their feelings and said the 'L' word. Honestly the entire smut scene was so soft and loving and just true to them. You could tell how much they cared about each other then and I'm just so happy. I hope that they have a bit a peace now that they're together and that somehow things work out with Jinhae and the mc's job.
