Part 02. Part 03 + Drabbles

If you were being completely honest, your issue with Jeon Jungkook began years before university.

You’d grown up close to each other, his house was right across from yours but you’d hated him from the moment you met in primary school. He’d joined you and your friends in a game of truth or dare during recess, and his dare for you had been to race him from one end of the playground to the other. You had tripped, cutting your knees open but he’d continued running, winning before realizing you weren’t behind him anymore. Only by that time, the teacher had gotten to you and you’d spent the rest of primary school glaring at Jungkook whenever he was in your sights, childishly blaming him for your scars.

Of course, you didn’t hold that grudge still. Your first year of university had just started, and it would be petty and pathetic of you to still hate him for that reason. But Jungkook had given you several more reasons to hate him throughout your years of schooling.

You’d watched throughout middle and high school as Jungkook grew from a cheeky, cocky kid, into an even cockier young man. He’d never cared much for his grades, choosing instead to throw parties with his friends, to ditch class occasionally, and rile up any girls he chose. You stayed away from him, attending different parties and sticking with your small group of friends, and by the second year of high school Jungkook became one of the most well known players of the town.

“Maybe I am a simple creature, but I am rather fond of the way my name sounds on your lips,” he admits with none of your earlier humor. “When I am inside of you, I imagine I will enjoy it even more.”

So...I may or may not have burned my bacon just a tad upon reading this, but it's okay because today seems brighter than usual and I feel good, especially after finishing this first part, and it is most definitely a beautiful burden to bear as you say.

The entirety of the opening until we see the first instance of Jungkook is so engaging. It’s filled with poetic prose and alluring alliteration that keeps you wanting more and more, and it’s there throughout the entire story. Shakespear would bend to your vocabulary if he were to read your works.

“Your blood is as blue as the ocean is deep but you are a human all the same.” I’m not sure why I constantly found myself thinking back to this line, but it was the one that stuck the longest while I was reading. It’s so simple, but it holds so much depth. And maybe it’s because this is when we see a parallel of the two and the diving line is simply their natures, but it’s powerful oh so beautiful.

Once it comes to when Jungkook is standing at the door and you say “his fist lands heavy against the door, beckoning to enter. It thuds just as your heart does. You have been waiting for years to let him inside.” I had to take a pause because wow! That struck deep and hard, it’s filled with so much emotion it leaves you stunned with the amount of passion that is held behind those words. And when you continue describing him, how “your soul sings” and how “He is mesmerizing from the scar on his cheek, to the mole beneath his lip all the way down to the pureness of his heart. You could not deny him even if you tried.” It felt like my heart was cheering with the imagery.

I also really loved the juxtapositions that are within. From the fieriness lingers in her gut when she is undressing to the “calculated coolness that rivals the fire in his onyx eyes” when Jungkook is doing the same, to a heady combination of both when you write “He is far too beautiful like this, far too dangerous with his hungry eyes and ruffled locks.” All of it is enticing and leaves you wanting more and more.

“There are no words, no beautiful turn of phrase you can call to mind that can fully describe the feeling that sweeps through you. It is one of absolute joy, of wholehearted enamorment and true fulfillment. You have never experienced such a feeling until now. You have never known such contentment and all from the utterance of a simple sentence. It further solidifies what you have known for most of your life. You will never love another the way that you love him. It is as frightening as it is soothing.” I just really love this section, so I won’t speak much upon it.

The phrase that made my heart pulse to my ears however is: “He is to be King.” It’s simple, but this one is powerful for its own reasoning. The first several instances of it appearing is followed by words of insecurity and vulnerability. Uneasiness in the fact that she is different from Jungkook and his kind. But then you bring it to a climax, turning the tables in the moment of their most desperate desires and say, “He is to be King, but you are the one who seems to yield all the power.” It is like a mic drop moment. When she recognizes that she is worthy of all his affections and adoration. But just as intense as that singular moment, you bring it to a just as equal close at the end: “He is to become King, after all. What would a king want with a heart as delicate as your own?”

This story is so sensual and passionate, but there’s a heaviness and angst that weighs in toward the situation all the while and I can’t say that I wouldn’t have felt the same given those circumstances. I found myself finishing this story far sooner than I would have wanted to, but you keep us on our toes during the entire duration of it. Thank you for this fantastic story and I cant wait to see what part two holds!

I decided to split this into two parts because it was taking me so long and I needed a break but didn’t want to keep you waiting any longer. I should have the next part up this weekend! also I was really anxious to post so I’m sorry if it’s not super edited. I will do a read through when I wake up tomorrow.

The anticipation for what awaits you is agonizing. There is a heaviness in your heart. It is a painful pounding that beats furiously against your breast. It reminds you of everything you have to lose tonight. It reminds you that too much has been left unsaid between you for far too long.

But there is no guarantee that any of it would matter anyway. He is to become a king, after all. What would a king want with a heart as delicate as your own? What use does a king have for a woman like you? A human woman at that. One whose presence could very well mar the crown he will soon wear and everything it stands for.

It does not matter to many that you are no ordinary woman. Your blood is as blue as the ocean is deep but you are a human all the same. How could a werewolf as powerful and revered as Jungkook ever hold his head high with an interloper for a bride? Surely there would be outrage amongst the members of the pack. Surely you would be the cause of far more stress than your tender heart is worth. No, a king needs domain over his kingdom, not the love of a human.

But loving him is not something you can so easily abandon. It expands well beyond what you can fit in that silly heart of yours. It has been growing steadily inside of you since the innocence of your youth. It started way back when Jungkook was still a ruddy cheeked runt who used to chase you through his family’s orchard. It has matured since then, just as you have after all these years. It is deeper now, desperate even. It begs to be unleashed and reciprocated with an equal vigour.

Elv!!! Hi Elv!!

This is the first piece of yours that I've read and I can honestly say that I enjoyed it so much! I'm a big fan of the Marvel Universe and Spiderman!JK as well, so this was a treat from the beginning.

It was interesting to see your take on what having kids would be like within this universe, and I absolutely loved the ode to uncle Ben and Tony as well for their names. I also really loved the banter in the midst of the drama and angst. It came out in small bursts, and it did well for not taking away from everything surrounding it. Something that reminded me of Marvel Universe as well.

One aspect that I really loved however is the main character's confidence. She's so smart and knows that she's smart and she's very sure about herself and what's she's doing. Especially how she's doing it while beside other heroes so I'm giving her applause.

“Hello,” he coos, and the boy’s eyes light up with curiosity at the sound of Namjoon’s voice.  “It’s nice to meet you, little one.” 

I was first introduced to this fic a few years ago in passing, likely when it first started, and then again this past Christmas by a friend of mine who told me that she binged the entire thing in one night. I’m not quite sure how she did it, but she did, and if I remember correctly, she didn’t fall asleep until 4 or 5 am the next morning.

A part of me wishes she would’ve told me how engrossing this story was beforehand so I could’ve prepared my heart for the emotional rollercoaster this brought me, but the me right now is quite thankful that she didn’t. I wouldn’t have experienced or felt the same emotions that I did while I read the amazing and gripping story within. The moments where I was smiling so hard that my cheeks hurt. The moments where my heart felt like it was shattering in my chest. Or right now when all that remains is a softness in my heart for all of the characters that you have introduced since the beginning and the conclusion that feels so full and warm.

I didn’t know that I could come to love all of the characters that are a part of this so much, but I do and I think I will for a long time. This past week of me binging the entirety of this story has made me learn and feel so much, and for that, I am incredibly thankful for you and your words. Thank you for making me feel something. I’ll never forget this story💕

It’s been a good few years, now, since Namjoon has thought of the manor as home.  

‘Home’ these days is a one-bedroom apartment over on the rougher side of town that he shares with not just one, but two feline companions; a safe space filled with books, bonsai trees, and a sizeable collection of plushie toys that he’s never quite been able to make himself throw away.  

His excuse is that Nova would never allow it - the lady of the house is far too fond of tearing off their poor, unsuspecting heads to bid them leave - but secretly, Namjoon rather likes to see their sweetly smiling faces and soft bodies sat atop the bed you once called yours. 

Not that you would know the place was anything other than his if you looked at it now.  It’d taken a long time for him to even consider redecorating after having moved in - still not quite believing your generosity could possibly be real - but slowly, as the months had gone by, he’d allowed himself to start adding little touches of Namjoon here and there.  He’d painted over your god awful gaudy wallpaper in the living room and ripped out the kitchen for which he has no use, fashioning it into a study instead; a quiet, secluded space to grade his student’s papers.  

These days, he might even dare to say he feels happy, and whilst a lot of the progress he’s made has been down to his own personal perseverance, Namjoon still knows how deeply indebted to you he remains for setting the wheels of change in motion.  It’s why he’s here at the threshold of the manor now, having answered your summoning call - it’s why he always will, regardless of what your reason or need may be. 

You changed his life, showed him how to live again, and for that and so many things, he will always, always adore you.
