Don’t Steal

Hey there!

So it’s come to my attention that there are some people stealing art from others so they can post and be part of the #septicart event to try get some attention. I do not condone this type of behaviour and if you’re doing that then you’re taking away from extremely hard working people. This is an event for people to join together and work towards a common goal and have fun but stealing art takes all of that fun out of something like this, ruins it. Artists already have a hard enough time getting their content out there and being noticed which becomes even harder if you’re just taking their content and claiming it as your own or, just posting it vaguely hoping you don’t get caught.

If you steal art or repost someone elses art to try get my attention or to be featured in a video, you are not the type of person I want to be associated with or want in the community. I know some of you can’t draw or participate the way you’d like to and just want to be part of the event but there are many ways you can be a part of things. Even if you can’t be a part of THIS event specifically, you are still a part of the community in general. So please contribute fairly and be considerate of others. Build each other up, don’t tear each other apart.

These took forever and a half, lmao. The combination of three separate drawings at once, all with a much higher level of detail and attention given than normal, made the process take hellishly long, but I’m really happy with the results (and am super glad I didn’t drop the project halfway through, like I do a lot!) 

These are three of my favorite ToS skins/roles, each paired with a flower because I wanted to add some level of interest to the picture. Spy has a rose, since roses are commonly used as a symbol of the mafia; jester has a lily, as lilies are often associated with death and innocence; and arsonist has a sunflower, because it was literally the only flower I could find that had anything to with fire haha.

I decided to finish a sketch I made a couple months ago redrawing a screencap - this is one of my favorite shots from Castle in the Sky, as the colors, composition, and Pazu's expression work really well together to create a really beautiful work. I wanted to see what I could do with it, and screencap redraws are a good exercise to analyze and get a better understanding of a shot (plus they're really fun and always turn out really cool). I think in the original scene they were heading east, not west, but uhhhh whatever Redraw of this shot from the film Castle in the Sky. I really wanted to get one more thing done before the end of the year (since I haven't done much this December, oops) and since I love the Off-Colors and have been hyped for the upcoming SU arc I decided to draw Rhodonite! I've really been on a "drawing-from-reference" kick of late, but those have mostly been sketches and this is the first real finished piece I've drawn using a fair amount of reference in quite a while. I love how it turned out, though - I should draw from reference much more often than I do. I also experimented with some new posing techniques (although it's pretty difficult to position all 4 arms super well lmao). I actually had to completely redraw the lineart in the process of this, since the original lineart I drew was not super expressive and I really disliked it. Not fun lol. I'm really glad I did, though, because I love how the new lineart looks <3 Have a happy new year, everyone C:
