Annual Post Telling People To Stop Slandering Kill Shelters As If They Want To Euthanize Healthy Animals.

ALSO ALSO stop shaming people who surrender animals to “kill” shelters for “sending their pet to be put down for no good reason” because yes there are careless people who get pets irresponsibly then give them up but 1. surrendering to a kill shelter isn't inherently a death sentence even though it is a possibility and 2. its way fucking better than them dumping the animal on the street or keeping it and abusing/neglecting it because they dont want it and less shame around surrender/rehoming pets leads to better outcomes for everybody even if it feels icky and sad people having pets they are not equipped to care for or dont want is not a good thing!!!! that pet is not living a good life!!!!! i will die on this hill tw euthanasia tw animal neglect tw animal abuse
