atticus stood at the kitchen counter beside her, hands holding onto the side of the marbled island, staring at the worrisome-looking cupcakes.

❝ i’ve...i’ve eaten wors’...bu’ yeah, i’d try it...can i, cher?

well, she did say he could, so....peering at them and leaning forward on his tippy-toes, atticus took one of the cupcakes from the pan, sniffing it once before ta- king a small bite.

❝ .....! it’s good!

Does the kitty cry often?

he seriously tries NOT to, but sometimes he just can’t help it. he has a problem with emotional flare-ups, and whether he’s sad, angry, or scared, he might shed a tear or twenty if he can’t will himself to be stronger. though, it’s usually FEAR that gets the most tears out him, mainly because of his tendency to have panic attacks.

{/She chirps happily at him as a reply. So he was from Louisiana! Just like her best friend was! Already, she felt some sort of friendship with the shorter boy. Even if it was one sided. As shy and as withdrawn as his replies are, she keeps pressing the matter to continue the conversation.}

“I’ve never been there! So like, wha’s i’ like?”

he is very surprised that she’s even still here, still talking with him. usually no one ever bothered with him this long ; or at ALL for that matter.

                              atticus shifts on the soles of his feet, fiddling                                 with the ends of his shirt.

How does Atticus feel about petting? Not only on his cat form, but perhaps in human as well? Just someone caressing his hair as he probably drooled on them. Maybe.

well, i don’t know about DROOLING, dear nonnie, but atticus will only let you pet him (in EITHER form) if he trusts you unconditionally, or feels like you won’t harm or scare him. his scalp just so happens to be ultra sensitive, so whoever’s doing the hair caressing is getting a melted and relaxed atticus out of it. petting is also a good calming mechanic if he’s scared.

there’s no doubt about it that he’s more than a little shocked. the loud voice, the sudden close- ness......those are all triggers which usually cause atticus to panic, but he’s kind of trapped between a rock and a hard place....the ROCK being HER.
