Music History Is Absolutely Fascinating To Me, And I Love Looking At Both What Was Remembered And What

Music history is absolutely fascinating to me, and I love looking at both what was remembered and what was forgotten, as well as why. Things like Mozart, as generic as it sounds by our standards today, were drastically different to what was around at the time, and so it was remembered because it stood out. Things like the evolution of rock as a genre and how it shifted between generations fascinates me.

Which is why elitism pisses me off so, so much. Not just because it's stuck up gatekeeping, but because it's so, so ignorant of what music really is.

"Art Music" isn't a real thing, and you can't just decide what is and isn't music based on completely subjective values. You like classical, orchestral music? Okay, that's fine. Doesn't make your music better than the rest.

Music is the people, and people are the music. It always reflects something, so trying to tell people that what reflects them isn't real music is just so... Cruel.

Telling people that their enjoyment is wrong will always be a bad thing, but attacking something so human as *music* will ALWAYS make me despise you.

Keep music free, enjoy what you feel, and don't listen to the ignorant elitists telling you that their favourite is the only right thing to enjoy

I really wish I could show non-metal fans what they're missing out on, because it's such a wild genre that can barely contain its own creativity.

seriously though, please go check out smaller metal bands. there are so many that are just spectacular, and if I find any of you lot trying to say someone's enjoyment is "wrong", I will personally cave your head in with a desk lamp

Something interesting that I've never seen anyone explore before is the idea of other sentient lifeforms having motion based vision.

Like, I've seen plenty of writing projects using echolocation as a character's vision, I've seen lots of normal human vision with various types of colour blindness, but never a species that sees movement as their primary perception method.

I think it would be fascinating to fully flesh out that idea, so if you see a string of sci-fi posts on my blog talking about this idea, that's why
