Rindou Gives The Best Cuddles
Rindou gives the best cuddles🫂
Nothing is better than being in the strong comforting arms of your lover. Especially if you’ve had a bad day and want to shut the world out.
Being with Rindou feels like a breath of fresh air and all the loudness in your mind becomes quiet as if there’s a bubble surrounding the both of you, blocking out everything else on the outside. The only thing that matters is the divine man in your vision. The only thing that matters, is this moment right now.
Feeling his fingers brush through your hair, the comfortable warmth from his body, hearing his soothing heartbeat matching the rhythm your own as if you’re one. It feels like you’re two puzzle pieces completing one another. 🧩
You’re not the type of person who wants to talk about their feelings right away when you’re upset. You just wanna cool down and process your emotions first. So, you pretty much end up in a non verbal state. At the moment, all you want is a quiet place and a comforting presence with you. And Rindou understands that because he’s the same way. It works for the both of you.
Cuddles first, then talk 💬🩷
Rindou makes you feel safe in a way you’ll cherish for the rest of your life. You don’t feel pressured to keep up a front like you used to be. Now you can just melt in the arms of the man who loves you and will do anything to take away whatevers bothering you.
“Bad day huh?”

A/N: Updates are slowing down a lot, I know, I'm so so sorry. Unfortunately, my course and univ are kind of competitive, and as someone who hates studying, I've been forced to actually study. Gross, I know. This is for my 300 follower event, for @anonymousplant. I hope you like it.
Masterlist

You’re a pretty normal person, at least, you’d like to think so.
But starting from when you were 5 years old, you’ve had a permanent, recurring dream. You tell your parents of a rowdy merman that tends to linger in your subconscious: his sharp-toothed grin, his sparkly tail longer than his torso, his pretty fins that fluttered when you tried to touch them. They didn’t believe you when you said he really liked trying to squeeze you to death, though they comfort you when you break into their room in the middle of the night sobbing your little heart out.
Yeah, Floyd is an asshole.
That’s his name, or at least, what he told you. You’re not too inclined to debate him on that considering his fondness of wrapping his ridiculously long (and freakishly strong) tail around you, squeezing you at a moment’s notice.
You thank whatever deity is listening that you can breathe underwater in your dreams. He does not seem like the kind of guy who wouldn’t drown you. You know, for fun. Every night when you fall asleep, you ready yourself to meet with your imaginary friend (that’s what your parents called him, though you prefer the term imaginary acquaintance, at best).
“Shrimpy! You’re here, hehe~”
You look at him harshly with your arms crossed in front of your chest, “You’re never this happy to see me. What do you want, fishy?”
“Neh, shrimpy~” the sparkles in his two-colored irises bring about a sense of fear in you, “do you know what dreaming like this means?”
“That I made up a weird eel merman in my mind?”
“I’m not made up. Don’t be silly, shrimpy!” Floyd’s tail slithers in the water, coiling around your legs, “Jade and I learned about it yesterday. You’re my soulmate!”
Ten-year-old you woke up in a nervous start.
Ew!
Why would you ever, ever, be caught dead being with someone like Floyd?! He’s annoying, and a fish, and so if you got together you’d be a fish too! But you don’t want to be a fish!
Your parents are surprised to find you in a very snappy mood the following morning.
“You left so quick, shrimpy! You don’t wanna be my soulmate?”
You snatch an iridescent fish swimming by, turning it into a big plushie with your dream powers. “But you’re annoying,” you stick out your tongue, “so I don’t want to be your soulmate.”
“Eh…?”
You glance at Floyd. He doesn’t seem too happy with your words—in fact, his eyes are narrowed and he’s swimming slowly, closer and closer to you. “But I like you so much, shrimpy~” he says, but there’s no expression on his face. He’s so, so uncomfortably close that you need to lean back to avoid touching him, “you don’t get to choose your soulmate, y’know? So it’s not like you have a choice, hehe~ But if you really wanna be rid of me, I can always squeeze you ‘til your eyes pop! If you’re dead, you wouldn’t have a soulmate anymore. Shrimpy, aren’t I so nice?”
“You suck.”
You kick at the dream water and swim away from the giggling eel.
“Wanna play chase, shrimpy? Okay~”
He’s not too bad. At worst he’ll get cuteness aggression and suddenly wrap himself around you, but most times you’re just chatting endlessly with him about what he calls “weird human things”, and you pester him for details about “normal fish things”. He talks about his octopus friend that he refuses to call a friend, and how takoyaki is his favorite food in the same sentence. You talk about having to dissect a frog in science class which he found really funny somehow. He tells you about his twin brother and their shenanigans together. You tell him about how your parents, your friends—no one believes you when you say that Floyd’s real.
He says they’re lame.
You’ve learned to keep him a well-guarded secret lest your parents recommend a mental hospital again, but he must’ve stuck himself real close to your heart when he starts becoming inseparable from your mind.
He’s become a really good friend.
With Floyd, no moment is ever dull, even when you’re just sitting together on some dream-conjured rock, leaning on each other silently.
There is no second in a day in which you’re not thinking of him. Your favorite part of the day is going to sleep to see him each night, spending hours with his eccentric tendencies. The fish has become a very important part of your life.
(Your friends in school ask you who you like in a discussion about crushes. You ignore the fact that his name is on the tip of your tongue.)
He’s your best friend. There is no secret you can keep from him, because despite Floyd’s usual laissez-faire attitude, one change in your expression and he’s onto you. You’d thought you would go through your entire life with him as your constant, you really did.
On your sixteenth birthday, he’s gone.
Not that he disappeared, but rather, you can’t dream anymore. You wake up the next day with no memory of any dream, and it fills you with panic. Your stomach is churning like a void is forming inside—an integral part of yourself is missing and everything feels so, so wrong. You make your bed and head downstairs to eat breakfast. Your parents question your demeanor in concern for your well-being, and you force out a smile. You tell them you’re fine? There’s no need to worry them about the loss of your imaginary friend, right? You’re okay. Maybe this is the change you needed. You’ll be an adult soon, and you can’t dream of a weird eel merman forever.

Why has he left you...?
Your vacation to your grandmother’s house does nothing to ease your worries (but if she ever heard you sobbing your heart out alone in your room, she never said anything about it).
There’s an old mirror in your bedroom in your grandmother’s house, owned by your late great grandparents. The floor length mirror is encased in an intricate gold frame, and it’s not too obvious until one night when you’d found yourself staring at it in a daze, but the reflection is off. It’s tinged with a layer of purple light, translucent and barely visible unless you pay attention. You try to sleep (it’s been evading you for three days, since the night of your birthday), cozy in your fluffy blankets and a blue unicorn onesie that your grandma had bought to try to cheer you up.
You’re woken by a bright light.
Careful, tiptoed steps lead you in front of the mirror. Your fingertips graze over its surface when a sudden force pulls you in—right in front of a crowd of a few hundred students.
So that was your first day in NRC.
You’d say it was nothing particularly remarkable considering everyone in this place has some sort of superpower, but to be honest, they think you’re so intriguing because you’re magicless. In their eyes that made you weak.
Helpless.
NRC is just filled to the brim with budding sadists.
Your first night in NRC goes a lot different.
It’s uncomfortable. The blankets and sheets are old and scratchy. The entire place is in disarray. It’s filthy and dusty and you’re sure you’re one step away from falling right through the floorboards because of how creaky they are. But tiredness makes for the best sleeping aid, and you’re prepared for another night of nothing.
You miss Floyd.
It’s a big shock when you’re met with your most beloved dreamscape instead of the void. Cold water that chills you to the bone, schools of colorful fish just passing by. There’s a long tail wrapped around a boulder, connected to a swaying half-human who’s blankly staring at the jellyfish. It’s all so familiar that your feet have acted before your brain has; you’re right next to him again.
(It’s where you should be.)
“Shrimpy!”
His voice is a welcome sound. His squeezing though, not so much.
“Floyd—ack! Ow ow ow!”
You almost swear you hear your ribs crack at some point with the way his tail and arms are putting pressure on it, but he only loosens his hold. He doesn’t let go.
You don’t mind that he doesn’t want to.
“Shrimpy’s so mean, why’d you gotta go no contact like that? It’s been so boring! I was super bummed, didn’t even wanna leave my room for that lame ceremony. Did you sleep when I was awake or somethin’?” he whines mournfully into your hair, “I thought… tsk, I told you soulmates aren’t changeable. Were you tryin’ to stop dreaming again?”
“No, the dreams just stopped,” you reply softly. It’s so oddly comforting to be in his arms, it makes you sleepy even in your sleep.
“Really?”
“Really.”
“You weren’t tryin’ to stop seeing me again?”
“I wasn’t. I promise.”
He hums, almost in relief.
(You don’t feel his lips gently, so gently, leaving a kiss on your neck where he’d buried his head. It’s so unlike him, but you make him act so weird.)
Grim wakes you up to look for breakfast in the cafeteria, and your time with your (platonic 💜) soulmate is over all too quickly. But something is stuck in your mind as you’re trudging through dimly lit halls with cat in tow. You knew the name Night Raven College rang a bell, but for it to be the very same school that Floyd had been ranting about for a year is just so unexpected.
(You’re finally in the same world.)
Then, is he here?
You didn’t manage to tell him about your most recent adventures last night. Maybe you should ask around and see if anyone can point you in the correct direction. At least, that was your original plan. Before an almost-burnt statue, a broken chandelier, two idiots who are actually really fun to hang out with, an abandoned mine with hostile ghosts…yeah. It takes you at least three more days before you remember to ask about Floyd in the school. You wanted it to be a surprise, so you kept it a secret from him. Though you probably should have expected that with all the mischief you’d gotten up to, your name was bound to reach his ears sooner or later.
“What the—?!”
“Ack!”
“Woah!”
Your first real meeting with Floyd starts with your cat and your friends being pushed to the ground in a pile.
“Shrimpy! You’re in my school! And you’re the funny student that’s been causing trouble? Now I’m annoyed I missed orientation for the freshies,” he does not hug any looser in his human form, “coulda’ seen you earlier. I coulda’ squeezed you earlier too~”
“Too tight, loosen up a bit please.”
“Okay~”
Ace and Deuce are looking up at you in shock with how casual you seem to be with him, but you pay their reactions no mind, only walking towards them with Floyd still wrapped around you, reaching out a hand to help them up.
(You don’t notice Floyd glower at the trio, or the way his hold tightens ever so slightly.)
They don’t take your hand, but you smile and introduce your best friend anyway. “Guys, this is Floyd. He and I have been in each other’s dreams since forever,” you pat Floyd’s arm that’s slung over your shoulder, “he says we’re soulmates but just ignore him, he’s kinda crazy. It’s probably some freak coincidence.”
“There you go again shrimpy, I thought we were over this? You still don’t believe me even now?”
“Soulmates don’t exist Floyd, don’t think about it too much. You know you’re still my best friend.”
(Ace and Deuce look at each other. Neither of them want to be the one to tell you—)
Soulmates are absolutely a thing.
And with the way that the big bad school bully, known for terrorizing at least half of the student population, is basically hanging off you, there was just no way that Floyd wasn’t completely and absolutely enamored by his cute, magicless little soulmate.
They should probably warn Grim that the eel merman wouldn’t be letting you sleep at Ramshackle tonight.
Or ever.

Rindou is your best friend👫
That gets on your fuckin nerves. Sometimes you wonder how you became friends with him. It’s like he spawned from mid air and you two just became friends🤷♀️
You always had the same classes together in school and he was always in trouble. Always. You’re surprised he was never expelled. He’s just suspended majority of the time and would come back as if he never got in trouble for beating some kid up in the hallway for looking at him wrong. Rindou also likes getting people in trouble by riling them up to yell insane profanities when the principal would walk by. He’s such a shitbag. A dreamy one. ✨
Clearly his most favorite person to bother is you with how much he distracts you in class when he’s bored out of his mind. You’d feel a tiny poke of a pencil behind your shoulder and he’d whisper:
“Move your big ass head I can’t see”
“How about you sit up instead of slouching, hump back”
This would always start the quiet bickering in the back of the classroom which always lead you both to getting in trouble for not paying attention to the lesson. Rindou laughs seeing how you glare at him, especially when he does that childish “ooooo” when you’re called to the main office. Or the times during gym class when he scares the shit out of you by randomly slam dunking a basketball right by you. Or the times he disturbs your beauty sleep by blasting a new track he made outside your window all because you weren’t answering his texts that were asking about what notes he missed when he was suspended. Rindou gives you a headache sometimes but he’s actually really sweet and smart. He has your back when someone bothers you and handles whoever decided to piss you off. He really does study the notes you give him, you can tell by how well he does on tests. And throughout all the years you’ve known him, he’s never crossed you. He just likes annoying your ass. 😭
Sometimes your girlfriends tease you about him, singing that stupid song from elementary school about kissing in a tree. You always said he’s just a friend. And he is. You and Rindou have never done anything more than what friends do at all. You two just come off closer to an outsider point of view but really, you’re normal friends that have looked out for each other. Even after you pinch the shit out of his ear for shaking your soda when you’re not looking so it can splash all over your face. You’re so comfortable with Rindou, you never saw him as more than a friend.
That is until he started talking about a girl he was interested in. You didn’t know why you felt bothered when he told you he started talkin with a girl. It made your heart sink as you realized what you were feeling. Jealousy. But you couldn’t show that. As a best friend, you supported him and feigned excitement for him. It’s not like he couldn’t pull girls. Rindou had hella girls swooning over him left and right and could have any of them if he wanted to. But he never did. You don’t know why.
Rindou’s reason: he’s always wanted you. Well not always. His feelings for you were confusing. He found himself in love with you some days then get scared and gaslight himself into thinking he’s only interested in you because you’re the only girl he really knows. It’d only work for a few hours though and soon enough he was right back to accepting he’s in love with you. But he never sensed that you felt the same way. He’s spoken to Ran about it and of course his big brother’s advice was to move on and not lose sleep over it. So, that’s what he did. Rindou just decided to click on a random girl’s name in his dms and respond to her, starting something new. It felt nice. The only downside to moving on from his crush on you was how he kept having dreams about dating you. It was like the universe was toying with him and it pissed him off.🙂↕️
She doesn’t like me like that. Why are these dreams coming now? He doesn’t understand.
Your nights have become quiet and it’s odd not having Rindou bother you at late hours. Now it was a blessing for you to not be jumpscared out of your sleep but you missed the way he would randomly appear at your place. As you rest in your bed, you start remembering the features you love about him. How beautiful his violet eyes are and his perfect his smile with those gorgeous white teeth. The way he leans back, rolling to his side when he’s having a really good laugh. The way he is so sweet to you when you need a good friend to listen to your words. You find that his intelligence (street wise and academically) is the most attractive to you and you love the way he’d look so focused during your study sessions. Sure Rindou has his many moments of getting on your damn nerves but he’s never actually made you upset. You giggle to yourself thinking about the recent events of your bickering. I’m screwed. You think to yourself. Screwed.🤦♀️
*Ding*
You pick up your phone and smile seeing Rindou’s name but the look on your face quickly drops reading his text.
I think I’m gonna ask this girl out
You’re convinced the universe is fuckin with you.
Well-dressed for the occasion

It was a pretty nice day. Pleasant weather, peaceful surroundings, lessened traffic. The perfect day to have a date on.
The bell hanging at the door of the quaint cafe chimes, signaling the arrival of new customers. My eyes flitted over, only to be disappointed when I did not recognize the face that passed through.
I sigh, taking a look at my reflection on my phone— feeling proud of the hair and makeup I did on myself. I double tapped the screen as it lit up and showcased the current time.
‘I better not have been stood up again-’
I paused as my eyes caught a couple strolling past the glass window pane overseeing the sidewalk. I blinked in disbelief at my supposed date that had his arm slung on another girl's shoulders.
‘I’m never trusting online dating apps ever now’
I massaged my temples to keep the incoming headache from forming. Someone walks up to me and I see that it was the waitress who's been waiting for me to order the whole time I was here.
I smiled at her.
“Can I have one of your specialty lattes and a slice of your artisan cake?”
She scribbled down my order on her notepad before dropping it due to an unexpected and violent ground tremor. I pulled her under the table with me in case the debris from the ceiling came crashing down.
As the tremors stopped, she brought her head up to look at me before pausing, having her eyes locked into the glass pane behind me. I followed her gaze and paused as well when I made direct eye contact with a grotesque kaiju that was looking into the cafe.
The sound notification of the emergency ping on our phones echoed throughout the cafe at the same time as the loud blaring of the kaiju alarm resonated across the whole district.
The waitress let out a shriek as I immediately had to pull her abruptly from our spot. Glass shattered as the monster tried to force its way into the establishment— the whole place filling with panicked and horrified screams. I quickly snagged my bag with all my things inside.
The other customers quickly exited the cafe, some unable to due to the kaiju blocking the way. The monster was preoccupied with the people fleeing through the front door. I turned to the waitress.
“The back door, where is it?”
She gulped down nervously before pointing at the door beyond the counter. I stood up a bit more properly.
“Everyone go to the back door now!” I directed to the remaining customers as I pointed where to go. The people quickly followed, not wanting to be killed by the kaiju while I went last since I was observing the monster’s movements. My shout and the remaining evacuating customers seemed to have alerted it.
I ran behind the crowd as a tentacle darted to where I last stood.
Everyone was able to successfully exit the building as we went back to the main street where we'd have to book it to the nearest shelter. So we ran, my heels— although they were only around an inch or two and block type— were utterly killing me. My eyes scanned the surroundings.
That seemed to be the only kaiju— but the wreck it left behind was pretty bad.
I can only deduce that the monster came from the huge hole on the ground of the road. That must've also been the cause of the tremors earlier.
More people emerged from the area, shouting. The kaiju managed to wiggle itself out of the cafe we successfully evacuated from. It stood at its full height.
“You've gotta be kidding me.” I muttered.
The monster turned out to be bigger than it seemed from the cafe.
Then a small unit of anti-kaiju officers rounded the corner, immediately shooting at the viney and octopus looking kaiju but even their bullets didn't seem to do significant damage to it. A few officers then came up to our crowd, leading the way.
Everyone else seemed more relaxed now that the anti-kaiju force arrived. However, that small moment of peace with the evacuating citizens was quickly thwarted as the body of an officer landed on a nearby car. The said officer coughed out for everyone to leave before he unceremoniously fell off the vehicle onto the floor, unconscious.
The officers who were with us immediately pointed their guns at the kaiju that was approaching quickly. They commanded us to run— and so we did.
The officers also accompanied us while trying to hold back the medium sized kaiju (according to their words as they complained how their bullets weren't able to pierce its body). I look behind and see a child left behind on the cracked road, nobody else having noticed.
I glanced at the evacuating group, noticing a woman calling out a name but unsuccessful in pushing through the panicking horde of people— only being whisked back. Not even the officers saw the kid.
I took a quick breath before sprinting to the fallen kid, knowing very well that it put me into the kaiju’s attack range. I scooped the little boy up before immediately darting to the car where the unconscious officer landed earlier. A bunch of debris went up into the air as the octopus attacked the spot where the kid last was.
The kid was still crying.
“Hey, buddy… You good? Listen to me okay? We have to be extra quiet or else the monster would notice us…” I tried to convince the kid, successful in doing so as he bit back a hiccup.
I patted the boy’s head, “What a brave kiddo.” I whispered to him.
Assessing the surroundings for anything that can help us, my eyes landed on the unconscious officer— more specifically the tactical pack attached to his suit. I rummaged through the small bag, acquiring one stun grenade and one explosive grenade.
We were out of sight from the monster but we would be crushed soon if we didn't do something and killed if we suddenly dashed away with a kid. I then checked the officer’s body, eyes lighting up at acquiring a special anti-kaiju pistol— it weighed more than the average handgun though. The man groaned, seeming to have woken up but in no condition to fight at all.
He noticed that I basically raided his supplies, about to tell me off before I interrupted him.
“We have no time, can you take this boy to safety the moment I throw this stun grenade?” The man in the specialized suit was confused as to why a civilian was ordering him, but when his suit seemed to be out of commission from an overheat— he only had to nod his head. I handed the boy over to him.
“Great. Now when I say go, immediately get away.” I instructed, tucking away the explosive grenade and pistol into my bag.
The pin of the stun grenade fell to the ground with a clink as its main body was thrown into the air.
“Go!”
A flash and ringing reverberated around the area.
‘I might've underestimated the JAKDF stun grenade… ‘ My ears slightly hurt, despite finding safety behind another car.
I took out the gun and inspected it, whistling.
“I didn't know they had the latest model in the force, maybe I should join…”
Well, no time to waste. I stood up and aimed the pistol at the octopus— its lone eye specifically since the officers were unable to pierce its body with their rifles— before shooting a few consecutive shots. The shots pierced through, as the kaiju shrieked.
‘Bingo!’
Another pin clinked to the ground, this time an explosive grenade being thrown into its open mouth. A few seconds ticked by before the octopus imploded on itself.
Thankfully, I was behind the car— untouched by the splatters of guts and blood. Peeking out from my spot, I noticed the monster wasn't quite dead yet. However, its core was exposed and slightly damaged.
Yet again, I aimed the gun and shot at the core continuously. I had to make sure it was dead for good after all. The gun clicked as I pulled the trigger again, having run out of rounds already.
I walked out from my spot still holding the gun before approaching the corpse. I stared at it while reflecting on today's events.
‘First I got stood up, wasn't able to even eat due to waiting, and it just so happened a kaiju came in and ruined everything else. At the very least shooting it helped in cooling off my anger.’
I sighed.
‘What a pretty nice day it was indeed.’
༚˳•°. ☆゚˖*・。ᴥ
When the other units arrived at the scene of the kaiju attack, the place was unsurprisingly wrecked. They expected the said target as they turned the corner, and their eyes were greeted with the kaiju alright.
Except, it was a corpse of the medium sized monster that laid there on the main street of Yokohama. As the platoons approached with guns still at the ready, the figure in a dress standing by the corpse became more clear.
Platoon Leader Nakanoshima signaled everyone else to stop as she approached the unknown person. Getting closer, she recognized the woman.
“(Y/n)?” she questioned, tucking away her gun as she signaled her platoon to do the same.
You jumped a bit from being deep in thought, hearing a familiar voice calling you. You turned around as Nakanoshima removed her respirator.
“Tae!” Your eyes lit up in recognition of the pinkette.
The Platoon Leader was in disbelief at how her friend was just casually standing beside a big corpse in her dress and heels.
‘Is that makeup I see?’ she thought to herself.
The pink haired woman scanned you, immediately realizing you were holding the anti-kaiju pistol issued specifically to officers of the JAKDF.
Her eyes then drift off to the corpse, assessing that it exploded judging by the mess. Nakanoshima snapped her attention back to you.
“Was this your work, (Y/n)?” she pensively asked.
You only shrugged, turning your body around to face the platoon.
“I guess you can say that,” you held out the pistol for the other woman to get, “I did borrow some of the force’s stuff— “ you paused, noticing the look your friend was giving you.
“Did I do something illegal, Tae?” You blinked rapidly, a bit of panic seeping into your voice. Nakanoshima shook her head, taking the pistol back.
“About that… I think you need to come with us… back at base.” The Platoon Leader had to inform you.
༚˳•°. ☆゚˖*・。ᴥ
The ride back to the Tachikawa base was awkward. Imagine an armored car full of soldiers in battle suits and wielding heavy weapons… with a woman fully decked out in hair, makeup, attire, and accessories… for a date.
The walk to… wherever they were taking me was even more awkward— especially due to the stares from the people we passed by on the base. It was nerve-wracking.
They're definitely staring because of how disheveled I looked.
‘Today’s horoscope was total trash.’ I cursed to no one, internally crying at today's misfortunes.
They brought me to a normal looking office, which I'm thankful for. God knows how more nervous I'd be if I was put in an interrogation room. Nonetheless, the solemn and silent atmosphere was something I couldn't bring myself to break— only being able to nod in response to their instruction to wait as I sat on the cushioned chair in front of the large mahogany desk.
Thankfully, I didn't have to wait long as the door opened with a click. I turned my body towards it, quite surprised myself when I wasn't only greeted by the Vice Captain, but also the Captain of the Third Division herself.
༚˳•°. ☆゚˖*・。ᴥ
You sat there awestruck before pulling yourself together and standing up to pay your respects with a bow. You then stood up straight once more.
Captain Ashiro waved her hand for the other officers aside from Vice Captain Hoshina to leave the room. The two highest ranked in the Third Division situated themselves behind the desk.
“Take a seat.” The red eyed female spoke— you had to stop yourself from gaping at her. You obediently did so. The ravenette then pulled out a device that projected a staticky video of someone in a dress—you— using the Defence Force’s weapons.
You can only wince at how the kaiju imploded— it was quite different from seeing it all as a whole picture. After all, you were hiding behind a car. The video ended there.
It was silent.
“Uhm…” you broke it, “Am I in trouble for… that?” You pointed at the projection perfectly paused as you were standing close to the corpse.
“Ignoring evacuation protocols… Raiding a defense officer’s supplies and weapons… As well as using said supplies and weapons to dangerously engage with a medium sized kaiju…” The purple haired male spoke up in a serious tone as he held up a finger for each thing he listed off. You only got nervous the more the Vice Captain added.
“Hoshina, stop making the woman restless.” Captain Ashiro interrupted, you looked at her in confusion. Before you knew it, the male’s chuckling filled the silence.
You stared at him incredulously as he threw a fanged grin at you. Hoshina couldn't help teasing you a bit since you peaked his interest. Who wouldn't be interested?
A civilian casually neutralizes a medium sized kaiju only with a stun grenade, an explosive grenade, and a defense force handgun. You weren't even wearing the specialized combat suit— heck you did it in a dress with heels. And here you were, sitting in Captain Ashiro's office, admittedly still pretty despite the minimal amount of dust and dirt that got onto you.
‘Did they even allow her to freshen up a bit?’ He mused to himself.
“Apologies, “ Hoshina started, “to answer your question, no you're not in trouble.”
༚˳•°. ☆゚˖*・。ᴥ
A sigh of relief escaped my lips, thank the above that I didn't do anything illegal.
“Although your offenses were grave,” I froze up— okay maybe I did something illegal, “it's been pardoned since you've eliminated a threat all by yourself.”
Captain Ashiro stood up. “For that, I apologize for showcasing such an embarrassingly disorganized display by the officers under my command.”
I waved my hands around, not wanting to undermine the hard work of the defense officers.
“No need to apologize, Captain! The officers helped a lot of people in evacuating…” I justified.
She made eye contact with her vice captain before locking eyes with me.
“For that, we also thank you.” She bowed her head, I panicked even more. I stood up, not wanting for someone as cool and respected as the Captain to lower her head because of me.
The ravenette stood up again before she spoke, “Your actions greatly impressed us… the force needs more people like you.”
“I'd like to recruit you to join us.”
Captain Ashiro looked directly into my eyes, her own lit up by a fire— a fire that compelled me to agree. She offered out her hand.
I thought about it since my life was basically just on a standstill— heck it was slightly miserable because of multiple failed romantic ventures.
‘Maybe I should step away from the dating scene for a while. Oh my, I guess my so-called uncharacteristic hobby can come in handy!'
A smile broke out into my face as I felt my fingertips tingle— I was looking forward to it. My own dominant hand lifted itself to grab into the Captain’s awaiting one. She reciprocated my smile with her subtle one.
“Where do I sign up?”

note/s: should I stick with the Japanese format of names (last name, first name) or no?
I'm thinking of using honorifics since Reno calls Kafka senpai— even the english sub in netflix shows “senpai” on the screen. (probably will call titles as stand-alones like Captain Ashiro instead of Ashiro Taicho)
do give feedback if y'all want a specific POV more or if the POV switching is fine
also I just realize how many plot holes there are but I'll be f i n e
how I imagined the reader looked like, you're free to decide how you look tho!

Just imagining a cat-kaiju fem reader in the Defense Force, like a catgirl, I wonder what would the interaction with the others would look like? Some might be romantic and some might be platonic, and the reader and Bakko is like super close since they’re literally cats lol
Yeah, I went so overboard with this. Been desperate for someone to request something like this! Thank you!
Warnings; blood, death and cats :3
Contains; F!reader, fluff
Word count; 3637 (im so sorry)

At first you weren’t taken seriously. Yeah, you were a Kaiju, but you had the semi-appearance of a cat, permanently; tail and ears included. You went from a respected defence force officer to a cat-girl, it was like some sort of joke.
Captain Hoshina found it hilarious. He nearly passed out from laughing. “Hey, L/N, do you think you meow too?” he had asked you through hysterical sobs. His reaction was echoed by a lot of people in the force. Not only that, but many whispers also started, rumours and speculation rose from the force and eventually word got out the public that they had a cat-girl on the force.
You became a celebrity for all the wrong reasons. The force had tried to contain the hysteria of the public – they were not aware you were a kaiju. If they were to find that you were, both you and Kafka would be forced to retire and be weaponised.
This caused you to sink into a depression. You had been training so hard, your suit output power had reached 27% and now you were viewed as a joke. Cat-girls were seen as cute and small. They meant to look sweet and pretty. In many ways, they’re weak.
Kafka thought it was awesome that there was someone like him in the field. He adored that he could finally confide in someone about what he was feeling, and they would actually understand him. Secretly, he thought your partially transformed appearance was cute. He couldn’t help but admire the way your tail swayed when you were annoyed, or the movements of your ears when you overheard something. The same goes for Kikoru. She knew how strong you were even before becoming a Kaiju, she had nothing but respect for you. Even so, she teased you, amused at you new mannerisms.
Still, the same precautions were taken with you as were with Kaiju no.8. You were taken to a facility and assessed by none other than Gen Narumi. He wasn’t pleased you’d interrupted his gaming; he’d already made his mid up you weren’t worth his time. Once again, you’d fallen victim to the cat-girl prejudice.
“Let’s get this over with,” was the first and only thing he’d said to you before he began his assault. He couldn’t land a single hit. Your reflexes matched his own, even with his kaiju foresight. His original estimations of your power were now overshadowed. “Uh huh,” he had said, looking you up and down in disbelief. Your fortitude? 9.1.
You stood defensively, your arms in the shape of an ‘x’ in front of your face, clawlike nails ready to parry Narumi’s weapon. You were only able to transform your eyes, ears, forearms and calves; you were on the defensive. You panted slightly, his attacks had been fast and heavy. Your human body wouldn’t have been able to keep up with him, but your Kaiju form took it with ease. Granted, Narumi wasn’t going all out, if he had he probably would have destroyed the testing room, you included.
A newfound respect formed in that moment. You were deemed Kaiju no. 16. Though it would only last if you showed him results. Gen allowed a trial run for you on the field. Given that Kafka was already in the First Division, Gen had you transferred back to the Third Division, under Mina Ashiro’s command.
Mina was secretly thrilled to have you in her division. You weren’t aware of it at the time, but many of her officers looked up to you, since you held your own against Narumi, so she was pleased you would be there to inspire. Hoshina also had some more respect for you, he was amused that you had humiliated Narumi.
Iharu, along the others, thought you were awesome. You were sung with praises when you arrived, they even through you a party. Swarmed by your friends, you were overwhelmed with emotion. Perhaps the first few days of isolation had caused you to form a narrative in your head that people didn’t like you. You yourself, had prejudices against cat-girls. But here, now, surrounded by such love and admiration, you saw that there was no room for such biases in the defence force.
During the party, many questions were thrown your way:
“What are your abilities?”
“Do always you land on your feet like a cat?”
“Can you see in the dark?”
“Do you eat mice?” – Hoshina
“What can you use your tail for?”
“Do you have paws?”
“Do you have fur?”
“Can you jump really high?”
The simple answer to all those questions was: “I don’t know”.
You hadn’t really had time to test out your abilities, nor had you ever fully transformed. Fear caused this, denial of it being real and resentment for yourself. Yeah, being a cat-girl is cool on paper, but you were a Kaiju. It wasn’t sunshine and rainbows as many people had been thinking.
***
Before being deployed in the field, you were to be trained but Hoshina himself. He needed to know your abilities in detail, so he could personally dispose of you if necessary.
Much to your surprise, Reno and Ihrau, offered to help with your training too. They wanted to help since you were their friend, but also wanted to see how well you could all worked together. Since they had experience fighting alongside Kaiju no. 8, it was approved that they would help with your training.
You first day was one-on-one with Hoshina. Today’s training was all about fully transforming. You had outputted a fortitude of 9.1. partially transformed. Now was your time to show off what you could do without being afraid.
Hoshina had told you “I’m not going to hold back. If I hurt you, that on you. Do everything you can to stop me. I want to see what you have to offer. Show me who you are, L/N.”
Once again, you could only partially transform. Hoshina slashed and slashed at you, but you parried him every time, your claws as sharp as his blades. Your internal monologue was doing overtime. Please was the only word you repeated, over and over again. Desperately reaching into the depths of your core to find the strength to fully transform. All the while, Hoshina’s blades rained hell on you relentlessly. He was in the zone, completely set on forcing you to transform, giving you no other option but to harden the skin on your chest as he triple-attacked.
Your chest now covered in white fur. You’re joking, you thought. Staring down at your chest you ran your hand over the fur. So soft. But how does fur stop Hoshina’s blades? Fingering deeper into the fur, you felt the skin beneath. Rock solid.
“So, you do have fur,” Hoshina mused. He took note of the sour look on your face, he figured out quickly there was a part of yourself that resented being a kaiju. “Stop.” His voice pulled you out of the trance you had been in. Confused you tilled your head to the side, cocking a brow at him. “You’re thinking too much about it. Stop. If you start thinking like that on the field, you’re dead.”
He was right, you had to pull it together and swallow your pride. At the end of the day, you were more powerful in this form, whether you liked it or not.
Now more focused than before, you got low, mirroring the captain, and mimicking a cat on the hunt. Good, he thought, she’s locked in.
You circled each other, prowling low to the ground. Your field of vision grew, making it easier to take in your surroundings. Your catlike ears amplified Hoshina’s breathing, you could hear his heart pounding in his chest. Your nose changed also; your nostrils took in Hoshina’s scent. It was almost like you could smell excitement coming off him. A low growl came from your chest, you felt your mouth twist and morph, a shining set of canines sit snug in your mouth.
Baring your new fangs at the captain, you snarl, daring him to come closer. The captain took your warning as an invitation. Faster than before, he dashes over to you, his swords shaving off bits of your fur. In response, you harden more of your skin, the fur now covering your thighs and neck. Your claws parry him ceaselessly, desperately trying to keep him at bay. Your enhances senses helped you predict his movements. He was fast, but you were faster. Using the strength of you legs you run across the wall, getting behind him. Raising your leg high in the air, you bring it down on Hoshina, but he is nowhere to be found.
You were certain you’d manage to switch the narrative. “Going from defensive to offensive so quickly?” Hoshina stands next to you, his blade to your throat, a glimmer of pleasure in his eyes. He sizes you up, a smirk growing on his face. “For a cat, you look pretty good,” he chuckles. Taken aback, you look down at your arms, they’re covered in fur. You gasp at the sight, clawing at your face to feel the same soft texture. Heat rises in your cheeks, your ears standing on end and tail wagging rapidly.
“I’ve never seen a cat blush before,” Hoshina teases, you promptly tell him to shut up, not before he begins laughing again.
You did it. You fully transformed. Fortitude? 9.8.
Still standing on two legs, your feet looked like paws. They were big but well rounded, the pads on the bottom were cushioned making it easy to travers rough terrain. Your calves and thighs were well defined, this added to your strength and agility; you felt like you could jump higher than the clouds. Your tail was dense and strong, it could easily hold up your weight if needed. You still had hair on your head, the same long hair you had before only now, it was a smokey grey. Your eyes were a beautiful ice blue and your fur a snow white, patches of dark grey spotted your coat. Looking up at Hoshina cautiously, you started “I’m…Am I…”
“A snow leopard” he finished. How amusing, he thought to himself.
Before the two of you could continue, Bakko burst through the door. The tiger kaiju mewled and pounced around, clearly happy to see another feline Kaiju. Bounding up to you, he rubbed his head against your side, licking at your hands. Blushing more, your tail came to cover your face, unsure of how to handle the tiger. Mina followed into the room soon after, worried at what he pet might do. Pleasantly surprised at the sight that greeted her, a soft smile grew. “Congratulations, Y/N.”
Pride swelled inside you. After everything, you could still fight along side the captain. Excited for what the future holds, you let out a sweet chuff before reverting back to your ‘normal’ form, your ears and tail still visible.
***
The following day you were set to train with Reno and Iharu. Captain Hoshina kept watch from atop the wall, while the three of you were to clear the training course.
“Alright! I hope you’re as pumped as I am, Y/N!” Iharu, lightly punched your shoulder, a cocky look on his face. “You too, Reno. Just know, I’m coming for you too,” Iharu chuckled.
You gave reno a confused look, one of your ears falling down. Reno only sighs, shrugging his shoulders.
“Okay gang, all you have to do today is clear the remaining Kaiju.” Hoshana’s voice rang in your ears, “Those being 5 yoju and 1 Honju, pretty easy stuff. You’re being assessed on your ability to work together and your efficiency at transforming. Ichikawa and Furuhashi, you are to assist L/N, you are not to take down the Kaiju unless absolutely necessary. This is a training exercise for L/N, don’t go getting too greedy now.”
Iharu let out a disappointed groan, “I was so ready to kill those kaiju!”
You understood, you’d never faced a kaiju in action, and as of now you’ve only transformed once, in the face of danger you might not be able to transform again. Reno and Iharu were here as a precaution, to bail you out if necessary.
“Oh, and also, this is a timed exam. Good luck!” With that a small cannon went of to commence the start of the training exercise.
“Exam?!” all three of you stared up at Hoshina’s shit-eating grin atop the wall. God damn him, you thought setting off in the direction of the scent. You’d picked up on all six of the Kaiju the second they’d opened the doors. They were scattered throughout the facility, with the Honju over in the far-right corner.
Following close behind you, Reno and Iharu kept a close eye on you, being sure to take in any signs of struggle the transform. But for you, transforming now felt as easy as jumping into a pool. Leaping into the air, the fur spread from you head down to your paws, landing on top of a Yoju, squishing it and its core. Taking a moment to sniff the air for the scent of the other Yoju, you looked back at the boys, using your head to point in the direction of the next Yoju.
Reno looked on in awe at you, crouching on the corpse of the Yoju. Your fur soaked in its blood, you looked majestic. A small tug was felt in his heart, what a strange sight to give him butterflies.
Iharu felt the same. You were so badass. It was plain to see that you could easily stand beside Captain Ashiro. Your fur whipped around in the wind, your tail moved to shield your eyes, he watched on, secretly wishing to touch your fur.
You cleared the other Yoju with ease and swiftly destroyed the Honju in one blow, Reno and Iharu didn’t have to fire a single shot. The training exercise was over and you’d managed cleared it in only 3 minutes and 36 seconds.
“Yeah, Alright!” Iharu wailed. Jumping down from the Honju’s carcass, you reverted to your normal form. He held his hands up to high five you, felling a stir in his stomach from your appearance. You gave him a big smile, your ears falling back in excitement, tail once again wagging around. He blushed ever so slightly, coughing to cover it up.
You turned to Reno, as you did, your tail brushed under Iharu’s chin. The fur of your tail was too dense for you to have noticed. His face lit up like a tomato, he had to turn away from you to hide his expression. So freaking soft, he thought.
“Thank you, thank you both for having my back out there. Now I know I can control my transformation, I hope I can be a bigger help on the field!” You gave Reno a candied smile, your head falling to the side. He kept his composure, but underneath he feels the same as Iharu. You were so cute, but you were badass, and you were determined to improve, something Reno could respect deeply.
This mutual crush sparked a new rivalry between the two. This time, it wasn’t not one sided.
***
The day of a mission comes. The regular pre-mission checks are complete. Hoshina assigns you and Reno to his platoon. You are tasked with taking down a Daikaiju with a fortitude of 8.2, a walk in the park for Hoshina, but this was another one of his tests, and it’s a big one.
Slightly peeved the captain assigned you with such a large Kaiju on your first mission, you whisper curses towards Hoshina under your breath as you ran across the roofs to the Diakaiju’s location.
“I’m sorry? What was that, L/N? I couldn’t quite here you,” Hoshina teased. You’d left the channel open deliberately so he could hear your disapproval.
Before you had the chance to tell him to shut up, the Diakaiju came into view. With one leap you closed the distance, ready to slash its body. You could sense its core was right in the centre of its mass along with…something else. All you had to do was tear away its thick, grotesque skin.
The original plan was to have Captain Ashiro take it down, but she had been held up by another Diakaiju. A simultaneous attack hadn’t been heard of until recently.
The damaged caused by the Diakaiju in front of you was too much to leave until Mina arrived. That’s why Hoshina had assigned you to dispose of it. Dickhead.
Using your claws you dug deeper into the side of its body, making your way to its core. Soon, Yoju swarmed around you, an attempt to keep the Daikaiju safe. Reno provided cover, shouting at you to keep on going.
Deeper into the side of its thick skin you dug, to find its shining core staring at you. Theres gotta be a more effective way for me to do this, you thought. Creating as much space as possible so you had a clear chance to slash its core, you tore away more of its vile flesh. The putrid smell stung your nose. Finally with enough space to slash its core, you raised your clawed hand ready to destroy the beast once and for all, only to be met with a twisted face.
“I’m not ready to die yet,” its croaky voice creaked. “You are though,” before you had time to react, you were ejected from the Kaiju. You were sent spinning through the air at such a high speed, you passed out from the g-force. Your Kaiju form deactivated when you passed out, so when you slammed into and through a building, your suit was the only protection from the blast. It wasn’t enough. Your core had been destroyed.
Your friends mourned you that day. Hoshina felt so guilty, he could have just taken that Kaiju on himself, then maybe he would have died in your stead. You had so much potential, and to be honest, he liked you more than he should have.
Reno and Iharu were in bits, you were their friend. You’d become a trio in the time of your training, they would treasure those memories forever.
Even the public mourned you. You’d died a hero.
The Diakaiju had managed to escape after revealing itself to be an unidentified Kaiju.
***
Your wake was eerily silent. No one talked, no one dared too. For the first time, Captain Ashrio looked genuinely sad. She never showed that side to the public before. She comforted Bakko, who in turn, comforted her. Hoshina couldn’t talk, he was a shell of himself; forced to carry this burden for the rest of this life. Iharu and Reno stifled sobs, staring painfully at their food, unable to eat. Word got out to the First Division, Kafka and Kikoru cried, unable to attend the wake due to another attack. Even Gen felt the less, pausing his game to take a moment to remember you when a cat came on screen.
But, you see, there’s an old myth that says cats have nine lives.
Sliding open the door to the wake, you stood, a white sheet wrapped around you, skin as pale as a ghost.
Reno and Iharu grabbed each other and shrieked. This was echoed by many others, screams and wails bounced around the room. You winced at the noise; your ears still sensitive from waking up. You yawned slightly, walking over to where the two boys were sat, stealing a piece of meat from Reno’s plate. You hummed at the flavour, taking a swig of Iharu’s drink.
You blinked up at him, confused at to why Reno was cradling him. “What?” you voice slightly croaky, “Why are you looking at me like that? And why are you all wearing black?”
You had no idea you’d been dead for a week. Hoshina broke to silence, letting out the loudest and most genuine belly laugh ever, tears formed at the corner of his eyes. Soon the room erupted into happy tears. Mina filled you in that you had seemingly passed away.
Shocked, you apologies for scaring everyone. Hugging Reno and Iharu, reassuring them that you were real. You were brought some clothes and after you had changed you joined in your own wake.
“Don’t let me stop you, you teased. Please, share your stories of how great I am,” you joked, staring up at all the smiling faces of your friends. Who would have thought you’d have to die to feel so loved?
Bonus information:
Hoshina hugged you after the wake. He’d definitely had too much to drink. It took a lot for him not to drunkenly confess to you.
You curl up when you sleep and use your tail as a pillow.
Often you find yourself laying your head people lap’s. Your core body temperature is lower than normal, so you seek heat often.
Instead of snoring in your sleep you purr.
Iharu and Reno figured out Hoshina also has a crush on you and so added him, unknowingly, into the rivalry.
Hoshina leaves you cat toys because he thinks it’s funny.
Bakko and you often cuddle together. Snow leopards are closely related to tigers, so you get along really well.
Mina trusts you wholeheartedly but needs you to train more before she feels confident sending you out into the field again. She doesn’t want you burning through your nine lives too fast.
Iharu and Hoshina, when stood beside or behind you, stroke your tail. You often don’t notice.
Hoshina also puts your tail up to his face, like a mustache, to make people laugh.
Reno does extensive research on snow leopards to try and accommodate you better.

𝄞༉‧₊˚. ISAGI YOICHI
the heart. quickly becomes popular for his freshness to the arena. isagi is a good friend of kira, so there’s one more person you can trust. while in his care as kira meets up with his team, he gives you a tour of blue lock to keep you entertained. sweet and kind, he fetches you water and asks if you feel alright because the racers have been ogling at you since you arrived. interrupted by an uproar caused by a racer who is standing on his car with paint all over his body, isagi is beyond irritated.
𝄞༉‧₊˚. BACHIRA MEGURU
the monster. obsessed with spray paint and loves decorating his car with it. bachira is terrible at being an artist. playful and cheerful outside, he holds amateur art performances for the crowd before races to get them pumped up. his gaze makes isagi flinch when he is told by the latter to quiet down. you can still hear the warning of staying close to someone you trust. he emits a dangerous aura, a strong first impression. bachira feels the same when he’s up at your face, studying you intensely.
𝄞༉‧₊˚. CHIGIRI HYOMA
the surge. the fastest racer in blue lock, securing victories at the speed of light. as chigiri approaches bachira to scold him for scaring newcomers, his beauty is so unreal that you don’t even realize you’ve been staring at him. he apologizes for his friend’s antics, justifying that he acts like this before a highly anticipated race. unfortunately, chigiri is not in this one due to a leg injury but luckily has someone helping him to stay in shape: an orange-haired racer waiting at the garage in his car.

𝄞༉‧₊˚. BAROU SHOUEI
the king. barou is the racer that kira complains about for as long as you can remember. he’s selfish and arrogant based on what you gathered so far from kira, claiming that the venue is his throne and the next race is his for the taking. his attitude fits your expectations; you already dislike him upon the first encounter. barou has the audacity to “claim” you as his prize when he wins this race. you’ll definitely follow kira’s advice to avoid him for sure when you see this guy again.
𝄞༉‧₊˚. MIKAGE REO
the heir. reo considers kira to be one of the best in the arena, besides his best friend, nagi, of course. a master of negotiations due to his status as the future chairman of a corporation, he hopes you will find his terms reasonable and collaborate with him as a business partner. but what he doesn’t expect is you playing hard to get. a pretty rich boy does deserve wild goose chase, making his pursuit exhilarating just like races at blue lock. nagi thinks that what he is doing is a waste of time.
𝄞༉‧₊˚. NAGI SEISHIRO
the genius. most people are happy with their achievements, but nagi does not care less as they’re essentially reo’s efforts. all he cares about are his video games and his cactus until you arrive to the arena with kira. all of a sudden, he attempts to impress you; “attempts” being the keyword. yet reo does the work once again by introducing him to you as his precious treasure and brags that you will see nagi’s full potential at the upcoming race. nagi doesn’t find you to be a bother, so he hopes to see you again.
𝄞༉‧₊˚. YUKIMIYA KENYU
the model. his charm is the focal point of his character, which drives the audience nuts. curious by nature, yukimiya wonders about the qualities you possess other than being “kira ryosuke’s girl” and how you manage to get the likes of barou, who treats everyone like trash, and nagi, who thinks of only going home, at your whim. seeing you teach nagi about car anatomy allows him to introduce himself. he believes that there is something special about you, but a friend of his thinks so otherwise.
𝄞༉‧₊˚. OTOYA EITA
the ninja. otoya claims to be not like his fellow racers and prefers to stay in the shadows. he doesn’t see you as an angel sent by god in the form of a mechanic to fix their cars, not understanding why everyone is smitten by you. he isn’t interested in interacting with you at first, however, that is proven wrong when yukimiya makes you laugh at a silly joke. it’s rude to make you feel unwelcome, so he decides to give you a chance. a crow- like racer mocks him for thinking he doesn’t find you attractive one bit.
𝄞༉‧₊˚. KARASU TABITO
the assassin. all about good vibes and good times, karasu does not want anyone to act “mediocre” around you. many newcomers are notorious for never setting foot in this place after their first round. he is relieved to hear that you came at your own volition thanks to kira. majority of racers you met so far are nice to you, so he doesn’t need to worry about making an impromptu spiel of why blue lock is great. if you think he’s too friendly for your taste, what about the guy stalking you right now.
𝄞༉‧₊˚. SHIDOU RYUSEI
the joker. unrestrained both in words and action, shidou goes about his day and does everything as he pleases. judging by how yukimiya, otoya, and karasu are quick to shield you, he’s bad news. the altercation grabs kunigami’s attention, who he has massive beef with. being “kira’s girl” doesn’t phase him, nor your best friend going after his head for being near you. one of his rivals isn’t amused by the ongoing circus act, as if he didn’t break his nose in the previous race.
𝄞༉‧₊˚. ITOSHI RIN
the puppeteer. rin has a score to settle with his older brother, sae, who is betting on shidou for the next race. physical violence is a usual solution to settle arguments, and it’s worse for rin to be involved in another fight with shidou, especially before a race that determines his fate and prove to his brother that he’s the best of the best. he doesn’t spare a glance at you or ask if you’re alright, as sae walks into the garage to check out the commotion.
𝄞༉‧₊˚. ITOSHI SAE
the prodigy. sae is one of the top eleven racers at the underground. you now know that he is betting on shidou for the upcoming race. rin does not seem pleased. even if it’s not obvious at face value, everyone can tell that there’s bad blood between the brothers by the intense atmosphere created from their staring contest. sae looks at you then at his brother, who he scoffs at for his lack of concern for you. for a girl to experience this in the first week, he’ll stop by your shop as reparation after the race.
