tbh I hadn't fully contracted samgirlitis until that bit in mystery spot where sam is alone in the motel room with his clear plastic water bottle and his plain white chicken and across from him there's another larger plate with a burger on it and then in the next cut his water and plain unseasoned chicken are gone but he has deliberately left the burger out like some sort of offering and I was like oh ok. this is the most interesting person in the world.

little dean checking into some new motel room in some new town (not that he would know, they all look the same by now). dad says he might be gone a few weeks. sam is angry about having to leave their last school. dean doesn't know if he can handle it all. but he knows he can turn on the tv and he'll have five friends there who always stay together, always beat the bad guy, always celebrate with a treat. they're always there.

The way that Jack Kline deserves the whole world but at the very least he deserves a childhood and the people who want to love and protect him to be able to and instead he ends up with dead parents, a recently widowed Dean (who blames Jack), and Sam who is trying his best but still just lost his mom and found out his abuser (Lucifer) was not actually locked in the cage and it all is so genuinely sick and twisted and evil and makes me genuinely sick to my stomach
And to top it all off he is almost murdered by Dean later (which is just so devastating, Jack wants to be just like him) but actually is murdered by his grandpa, cas literally gives his life for Jack (which was foretold at some point), and he had to become god at the end????? Like they couldn't even let him live a life after all that (with all this trauma beginning literally the day of his birth)
I understand people often don't like the later seasons but not one person would ever speak ill of Jack

Have a headcanon that every soul has it's "guardians". That to reach your very core, you must go through these guardians until they allow you to go through.
Now imagining Dean going inside Sam to find his soul. Sam is shattered from his time in the cage, the wall breaking, and Gadreels possession, and literally everything else. His soul is weak and giving up against his will.
Dean is told that he can save Sam. He must venture through Sam and find his soul.
He's taken to a vast void. He meets various versions of Sam, from Soulless to Stanford to Cold Oak. Each one was harder to convince to let him through than the last.
He meets a young Sam last, tough but surprisingly forgiving. It makes Dean soft seeing how Sam's being is reflected here.
The void shifts and he sees a present day appear on young Sam's lap. He's asleep as young Sam strokes his hair.
Dean is about to approach when he's stopped by an invisible wall.
"What the?"
"I'm not the end of the road, De."
"What? Then who is??"
"I am."
Dean hears his own voice.
