I think it’s worth remembering as well that their Tokyo trip wasn’t just a few months ago, it was almost 6 YEARS (?!?!!!) ago — and still hearing that song brought Jungkook back and he instantly remembered it as the song of their trip 💜💛 (it’s funny when fans associate that song with them, and he clearly does too…;))

You’re so right ☺️ that’s sort of what made me wonder if maybe they discovered that song on that trip or maybe just listened to it a lot while they were there or something. And then maybe that’s why he wanted it to be the soundtrack for the GCF. Idk why, but I always sort of assumed that he picked that song during the editing process because it fit the vibe and he liked the lyrics and maybe because it fit what was in his heart, but it adds a whole other layer to realize that in his mind, it seems like he associates the song with the trip, not the video — if that makes sense? So then makes me think there might be some inside story as to why that song and that trip are connected for him/them.

And IF that’s the case (that he picked it to be the soundtrack because of their experience of the song together) then it means it likely resonated even more with Jimin/ had one more extra layer of meaning when he watched it. Which is sweet to ponder.

It's kinda weird that the discussion is always on if jikook will ever officially come out because I'd selfishly like to see it and I think it would be earth shattering but I'm also not expecting every time I think of it I think of the namjoon who's gonna save the world vid. The point though is that Yoongi has been skirting a very thin line of not closeted to anyone with common sense but not officially™️ out and it's never a discussion on if he's ever gonna take that step it's always will jikook announce their relationship like that's not an even more complex conversation as for losing respect for them I think that parts wild because I really don't think that's something they owe anyone but I think I'd gain respect if any of them did ever went that route it doesn't seem impossible but again I'm not expecting it I don't even expect it from American celebrities and they are very decidedly not American

It sounds like you’re saying that people put too much pressure on Jikook to come out not only as queer but also as in a relationship with each other, and you think there should be more of a balance and Yoongi should get some pressure too? Honestly… I’m not sure I’m seeing that pressure, or discussion like you referenced. Maybe the jikookers I follow are just exceptionally respectful, lol, but for the most part I see people understanding and accepting that we may never get confirmation of this relationship, and that honestly, we aren’t owed it. For the most part, jikookers (again, the ones I follow and interact with) are a respectful bunch who tend to have a fairly firm grasp of realistic expectations and cultural nuance.

You mentioned “losing respect for them”… like, if they don’t come out? I’m not sure what you’re referencing but I agree with you that it would be wild to lose respect for them over that. They are their own people and like you said they owe us nothing when it comes to their personal life choices.

You seem passionate about this and you didn’t ask for my advice but I’m going to offer it unsolicited anyways, so feel free to disregard: if there are shippers you follow who say disrespectful things like this about the guys or imply that Jimin and Jung Kook OR Yoongi need to “hurry up and come out” or something, I would say remove those people from your fandom experience. Unfollow, block, move on. There are times where it is necessary to consume content that is upsetting — like in the case of certain news/ world events or when we have to acknowledge injustice, etc. But I would argue that it is almost never necessary to consume upsetting content in a shipping space 😅 (editing this to add that I totally get the desire to argue against dumb opinions or behaviors and in fact will often engage with people on here to do just that — so I also encourage you to respectfully disagree with those people who have unrealistic expectations when and if you feel so inclined to do so. Just, you know. Manage your energy and space.)

A queer closeted famous ass couple in a homophobic country will behave so openly sometimes in front of cameras if they're actually a couple? When other companies are really trying hard to protect artists who are gay and a part of LGBT..on the other side we have jikook..who sometimes break all the types of boundaries. Like that hickey thing?? Rosebowl?? Gcfs?? I mean why did the company even allowed jungkook to post gcf Tokyo and Saipan specifically when on the other hand they try to hide the artist too?? Company can easily hide that hickey thing but they still released it. Why? If jikook is actually a thing.. don't these types of things actually risk them and the company?? Why jikook so open in front of cameras if they're a real couple? I don't think any company will let artists do things which Jikook keeps doing all these years if they actually have a queer couple in the company. The only explanation for this is..that jikook is not actually a real thing so company and both kook and jimin don't have anything to lose in reality. So they don't care because they know that they're not a couple in actual.

You all ask this same question 50 times a week it feels like. You and I both know the answer, not to mention how despite a lot of fans thinking they’re together, there are still millions who don’t. Millions of people who write off queer behavior between idols as fan service.

So… that’s your answer. People believe what they want to believe, and as long as neither Jimin nor JK say they’re fucking each other, no one who doesn’t think they’re together will think they are.

Case in point, Lee Felix from SKZ. I keep reiterating, but still people say he was just joking, but when asked his type by a fan during the earlier part of their career, Felix asked the girl if she meant his type in guys or girls. Straight dudes don’t do that and Felix has never made a joke of queerness before (as far as I am aware), so why many Stay continue to say he’s straight until he comes out despite that being a very sound coming out? Idk. Same way Namjoon pretty explicitly stated there are queer members in BTS, yet ARMY still claims he misspoke because “English isn’t his first language.”

Point is, fans do not care if their faves come out, if the coming out isn’t a COMING OUT!!!! Therefore, idols can say and do whatever they want with each other and no one will bat a fucking eye, because “Korean men are more comfortable being close to each other than in the west!” meanwhile queer Korean people are still being brutalized.

Idol fans are convinced sexuality is a fluid and open free for all, and if any of their faves are, then they’d just say it. Which is unrealistic and naïve as fuck to believe, but you all still do. So how is it possible Jkk can “get away with” being a potential couple who do couple-like things without outing themselves? Because most ARMY do not care, lol. They’re never going to be considered truly queer until they decide to risk their careers for it, and most media outlets are not going to risk being sued trying to break the story of big bad BTS members dating.

Korea is one of the many countries still in the dark ages of sexuality, but in terms of global acceptance? Even fake acceptance, means SK runs the risk of looking like even bigger dumbasses. They’ve already dicked the guys around and sent them to serve, so imagine their media outing any of them and then the govt. trying to double down on and denounce it? It wouldn’t work.

Anyway.
