speaking of ghost shows that netflix has totally ripped to shreds i am STILL not over the cancellation of julie and the phantoms. it's been like what 3 years or so since i watched that show and every day i MOURN. every day i look up 'julie and the phantoms season 2 renewal' with the foolish optimism that Maybe they've realised their mistake or it was all a bad dream and pretty soon i'm gonna have the three ghost loser freaks and the Number One Girl Ever! waltz onto my tv screen yet again. i rewatched the first couple episodes a few days ago and i am NOTTT EXAGERRATING when i felt a pit in my stomach knowing that their story will never be Officially continued IM GOING INSANE???? i don't think i'll ever get over the loss of JATP and while the dead boy detectives wound is fresh it's gonna scar permanently too i think!! IM NOT OKAYYYYY

He had absolutely nothing to do with it, he didn’t write the comics it was based on or work on the show, he created a couple characters over 35 years ago and that was it

Stop giving him credit for shit he didn’t do, he is constantly being credited for other creators work, he doesn’t deserve any of that

Toby Litt wrote the comics that got adapted into a show by Steve Yockey and Beth Schwartz, those are the people who deserve credit

I'm honestly grieving the show.

It was one of the best shows netflix has ever put out, amazing enough to get me to run to resurrect my tumblr after years of not using it to be a part of its fandom.

I've only ever been in 1 fandom in my life before dbda, and genuinely thought I'd never find something that would grip me enough to make me want to engage with its community as much as I did in my previous fandom.

But then, after 6 years, Dead Boy Detectives came along and made me reach for a drawing tablet for the first time in over 2 years. Made me write fics, even though I don't consider myself a writer, and I've never written this many fics this fast. I haven't been this creative in a long time and it's been an indescribable source of joy to me to be able to go back to creating content.

It got me on discord, which always overwhelmed and scared me, but I'm so glad I had given it a chance because I've met so many incredible, funny, talented and supportive people there, and now I can't imagine not talking to them almost every day.

It really was a bright light during a less than ideal time in my life and will still continue to be because I refuse to let it go.

We were given something truly great and can still celebrate it and make and consume fanart, fics, gifs, metas, au ideas, crafts, moodboards etc etc to support each other.
