Tails and Maria parallels.

I decided to gather up a bunch of stuff tails and maria share in common. why? well, I just think it’s neat considering shadow and tails’s growing bond (maybe shadow could have flashbacks due to it?) and how fucking SIMILAR this fox is to maria.

before we start, I am NOT trying to prove that tails and maria are related in any sort of way. no “tails and maria are siblings”! shtick here whatsoever, aight? just wanted to clarify.

1) Appearance:

now this one’s probably the most obvious when you look at the two.

tails has golden/yellow(ish?) fur with vibrant blue eyes (leaning into cyan)

(mostly gathered 2D official art here so lighting won’t clash with anything!)

as you can see, mostly a blue/white/yellow colour pallet for the fox!

..now who also has a blue/white/yellow colour pallet?

maria robotnik.

tails and maria’s colour pallet, and not to mention looks (notice how they both have doe, innocent eyes?), is SCARILY similar to eachother, to the point where you could probably convince someone who knows little to nothing about sonic that maria was the “human version” of tails.

2) Personality:

now, this one’s probably the most abundant cause holy SHIT

tails (mostly described) is very sweet, selfless, gold-hearted and resourceful, and can be gentle when he needs to. and especially in tmosth, very optimistic and empathetic, aswell compassionate and curious.

…these traits are also very similar to maria’s, especially in the shadow and sa2 game.

both are cheerful, optimistic and show kindness and see the good in (most) people, all while maintaining a strong spirit.

3) Mannerisms:

ohh boy do these two have paralleling mannerisms

tails is noticeably very smiley, laughy while pointing and waving a lot!

examples! :

as you can see, his mannerisms and attitude has that optimistic and energetic yet gentle kid-like quality to it.

and maria’s.. is practically the same!

see how she smiles, points and waves a lot? her gestures have that same quality.

they both have that approachable, friendly gestures attitude, additionally, they both maintain very child-like and cheerful mannerisms. kinda “saccharine”, y’know?

So, overall?

these two’s personalities, looks and attitudes are eerily similar, yet it could make sense in a way. tails’s parallels to her could and most probably give shadow MAJOR flashbacks with the fox’s bright positivity, curiousness and general kindness. it’d be interesting to see in action! maybe tails would be the one to get shadow to finally warm up to his friends, and see the good in him after so long? it could genuinely be a concept taken to canon! (paramount, c’mon, give us the parallels and shadow & tails bonding in the 3rd movie im BEGGING)

tails, in the end, is his own person though, and his unique qualities should be appreciated as much as the major ones!

Badass Amy Rose

Amy Rose is a badass and I will die by this

She can lift things at least 10 times her size, is shown to be quite emotionally intelligent, has legit gone against blaze and shadow in Archie, was leader of the resistance in IDW, can summon a giant hammer out of nowhere, in most iterations she can kind-of see the future with her tarot cards, and looks absolutely fabulous doing so.

Shes also wearing inhibitor rings in every iteration except Fleetway, where she has a fucking crossbow.

Feetway ,in fact, may be one of my favorite versions of her as in most issues she was on her own adventures with Tekno the Canary.

Speaking of Movie Sonic, if we got Movie Amy how do you imagine her coming about and being like?

I hope she ends up in the new movie. I don't know how they're going to do it, but MY DREAM would be that cheesy cliché where the first time they meet it's during something badass and like she's slow-mo walking in front of an explosion:

That's definitely NOT how they'd do it, but that's what I'd love to see hahaha

I hope that if she does end up in the movie they really capture her courageous and caring side. It'd be easy to just make her a simple damsel in distress but there's so much more to Amy than that so I hope they would go into her character more. But the movies have been doing a good job so if she shows up, I'm sure they'll nail it.

Suffice to say: -Shadow and Tails likely took Maria dice shopping. -Tails is no longer allowed to play a bard again. -Shadow's going to have Silver DM next time.

Analyzing Sonic's love language + Sonamy, pt. 1

Sonamy is probably one of the most conflicted ships I've seen in the fandom. Which I find funny, because it's quite clearly the ship that the Sonic Team favors the most and gives the most content for, at least when it comes to Sonic himself. But anyway, I've seen a lot of people claim that Sonic "clearly" doesn't like Amy back because of how uncomfortable he looks whenever she showers him with affection. (And yes, I know the more recent media has given her a ton of maturity regarding that, which I appreciate.) But from my observations, that's just not the case.

Why? It boils down to each of the characters' love languages.

And Sonic's love language is quite clearly NOT physical affection. And that doesn't just manifest with Amy; it manifests with EVERYONE that tries to show him more touchy-feely affection, including people we know for a fact he loves to death. Like Tails.

Sonic himself doesn't initiate hugs very often, so when Tails got hurt in the Sonic Boom episode "The Sidekick" and Sonic was trying to figure out some way to protect him and express how much he'd been worried, he does awkwardly hug his little brother. Look at Tails' reaction.

He's probably shocked right now. He would know better than anyone else that Sonic doesn't normally do that.

I don't think Sonic minds hugs, but he actually isn't a big fan of them in general. In the episode "Do Not Disturb," when Sonic and Tails ended up driving each other nuts with their personal lifestyles, Tails walks over and throws his arms around Sonic after they apologize and reconcile. This time, look at Sonic's reaction.

His stance and expression make it pretty clear he was not expecting it, and after a couple seconds he says "Kay, too long, gettin' weird," and gently pulls away. But he's still kinda smiling, so it's clear he's not mad, just slightly uncomfortable at the touch.

While we know there's many different variations of Sonic's character throughout the franchise, this trait is pretty consistent. Something very similar to this situation happens in the second live action movie, when Sonic tells Tails that they're pals, and Tails hugs him. Once again, look at Sonic's response.

He's startled and pretty quickly picks Tails up and puts him back, but he's smiling amidst it. Same as before; enjoying the emotion, but not necessarily comfortable with the means of affection.

Yeah, yeah, at the end of the movie after he comes back from being Super, Maddie and Tom both come running and each individually hug him. Sonic doesn't pull away that time, and I think he's more okay with it that time, since barely five minutes before they thought they were going to die together. He just kinda smiles a little and closes his eyes when they hug him.
