‘Well this is great.’ You played with your pencil, awkwardly looking around the kitchen, moving side to side on your chair.

“Can you stop?” You frowned, stopping mid way, as you turn your head slowly to see cloud keeping his head still down on his arms against the desk.

“I can, but I won’t just because you said so.” You started to move again, enjoying the way he huffed in annoyance.

You saw everyone else getting along greatly with one another and you couldn’t help but mourn your old partner as she laughed along with her new one.

It made you even more annoyed seeing your cousin making teasing faces that she was the one paired with Tifa for now on.

“I know where you sleep asshole.” You flipped your cousin, yuffie, off as she stuck her tongue out and turned back around.

“You’re friends with Yuffie?” You hummed, looking to see Cloud now sitting up right. “Nah she’s a total loser.” You shoved the crackers that you needed to grind for your assignment into your mouth.

“That’s kind of rude don’t you think? She’s cool.” You rolled your eyes laughing at his serious expression. “Jesus dude I was joking. She’s my cousin…same last name? Ever took note to that since you’re sooo obsessed with her.”

Cloud cleared his throat, completely forgetting you two were related. Yuffie was a close friend of his in his friend group so it wasn’t a surprise to take offense that you said she was a loser.

“Anyways, new partner, we should probably get started.” You opened up the cook book, scanning the recipe for today’s class.

“Bacon-Cheddar Potato Croquettes…doesn’t seem to hard.” You started to grab your measuring cups along with some ingredients. As you started to work, you glanced over to see Cloud completely oblivious at the fact that you started as he continued to look up ahead.

“Dude, what are you doing?” You asked, eating another cracker, while keeping your other hand on the page you were on to not lose it.

“Huh? Nothing.” You saw the light pink tint on his cheeks, while you followed his gaze to where tifa was at.

“Ahh does cloudy have a crush on my frieeeennnd.” You poked his cheek, laughing as he swatted your hand away.

“Of course I don’t. Don’t be stupid…besides she’s MY best friend.” Cloud’s voice cracked just a bit, his eyes burning on the page in front of him now with a scowl.

“I could help you, if you want.” You wiggled your eyebrows around and poked his arm this time playfully.

“I don’t need help…and knock it off, stop touching me.” He scooted away from you, looking down at his phone. At the glint of your eye, you saw him open up the familiar blue app that you were obsessed with yourself.

“I would’ve never taken you as tweeter.” You heard a scoff come from him, watching as he turned his brightness down so you couldn’t see anything else.

“You don’t know me. And we’re not friends so stop acting like we are. We’re just partners and the only reason I haven’t complained about being your partner is because you’re one of the best in this class.”

‘Ouch…’

You hummed, looking away. “Alright there’s no need to be a dick,dude. I’m just trying to make conversation.”

Cloud rolled his eyes, but keeping his gaze from yours.

“Well don’t. It’s annoying.”

The rest of the class went smoothly but a bit awkward as you both worked together silently. The A+ on the Bacon-Cheddar Potato Croquettes made up for it though as you hopped over to tifa.

Cloud rose an eyebrow as you two squealed, holding each other’s hands as you two jumped lightly.

‘Were you always this close to Tifa?’ That question was answered quickly as you two hugged when the bell rang, the both of you running out of class together.

‘’hmm…if tifa likes her so much maybe I can use this to my advantage.’

Albedo was furious with himself. He fell in love with one of his good friends, again.

The first time he felt like his heart was destroyed before his eyes. Feeling like his heart was crumbled into pieces like chalk on concrete. Oh the irony.

He couldn’t help it though, you were just…you and he loved everything about you.

He was so tired of falling for his friends like this but he couldn’t help it this time after seeing and feeling how content he is with you. The way you were always there for him and helped heal his heart to be somewhat whole again.

Yet still, he was afraid to tell you, which was understandable. He lost one of his bestest friends to him confessing so a deep fear lingers around, making him scared that you’d leave too.

He didn’t want any of that happening, going as far as completely removing you from his life. I mean, it seemed easier for him since he wouldn’t let you leave him first this time.

It went well for a few days, but the more days that passed without you and avoiding you at all costs, he began to feel even worse than he anticipated.

He felt so empty and lonely now that he didn’t receive any messages from you since he blocked your number and all your socials.

He missed your guys’ study lunches that you both almost never studied as surprising as it was for his character. He just missed you entirely and he was surely regretting that awful decision he made.

Thankfully, you weren’t one that took ghosting so well.

So here you were, standing outside of his home and trying to get his attention as best you could.

Klee, his little sister, was jumping up and down at the sight of you. You two got extremely close once albedo and you grew closer over the past year.

It was extremely upsetting for her too when you stopped coming to hang out and play with her. She would always tell you how you were her favorite friend of her brother’s and always asking if you two would get married soon which you would always laugh and nod at.

Albedo was biting his thumb nail now anxiously as he stared at you walking back and worth outside his window, deep in thought.

Yes, he knew he was being paranoid and going as far as watching your every move but he couldn’t help seeing how cute your concentration face was right now. He loves that look when you two finally try and study.

He sighed and backed away, making his way back to the living room when his doorbell rang.

Grabbing klee from opening the door, he shook his head and motioned for her to be quiet.

He had his hand over her mouth, stopping her from speaking to you which made her whine.

“Albedo you asshole! Let me in and talk to me. I know you’re next to the door you, jerk!” He heard you yell and finally he knew he really needed to be honest with you.

Opening the door, he expected to be lectured like she did when he told her the truth, but all he got as a response was you crushing him in a tight hug.

He heard you sniffle as your embrace grew tighter. Grabbing his shoulders, you pushed him away slightly to look in his eyes, trying to find any hate or anger in them to indicate that he didn’t want to see you.

But all you saw was sadness in those pretty eyes of his.

“Why?” You whispered, making his lip quiver as he gripped your hands in his.

“I was afraid you’d leave me. I thought it would’ve been better for the both of us.” You gave him a look to continue as you waited to understand what he was feeling.

“I have…fallen in love with you. I told myself that if you left me, that I would let you. But thinking of it now, pushing you away like that without telling you how I felt, completely destroyed me even more than before. I don’t care if you leave or stay, but I just want you to know that i love you and I’ve been in love with you since I’ve met you.”

It was silent between the two of you. A few minutes had passed by and you both could hear the soft pattering of rain hitting the windows of his house, making the mood a bit colder now.

But you personally, you loved the rain. Almost as much as you loved him.

“Do you have any idea how I dreamt of you saying that? Albedo, you ignoring me, made me think you hated me,”

Gripping his hands tighter, you placed as soft kiss on his knuckles and sighed.

“I thought you found out somehow that I liked you more than a friend should. I thought I ruined my chances with you.” You felt your tears escape as they dripped down your jaw and to the floor.

You saw the frown that took over his face again and you felt like your heart was about to burst as he wiped your tears for you, keeping him soft hand on your cheek.

You nuzzled into it slightly, looking to the floor in shyness.

“I was an idiot for pushing you away. It wasn’t fair, for either of us because i didn’t tell the truth. My feelings devoured my last friendship and I was afraid you’d leave me too.”

You shook your head as he sighed, looking up at the ceiling in deep thought.

“So I say this now…when you want to leave, please leave. But if you want to say, please…please stay.”

The two of you held onto one another, watching the rain fall and the beautiful gray clouds taking over the blue sky. A deep question flowing through the mists.

Yet the answer was clear now. Clearer than ever. With the way the two of you were holding onto one another lovingly. You were going to stay.

Cloud never felt such confusion and heartache until this very moment that he was sitting in Seventh Heaven, drinking to his heart content.

Why did she leave me so alone?

He felt his hand itch towards his pocket, his phone that had her picture as his lock screen that he remembered taking when the two left Midgard for a small trip to watch the stars for the first time, had showed no notifications from anyone.

I miss her.

He thought as he chugged down the last remaining sips of his drink. He looked up, making eye contact with Tifa, his eyes pleading for another.

“I’m cutting you off tonight, Cloud. I can’t stand seeing you mope around like this anymore. You need to talk to her.”

He wanted to stubbornly say no and say he would do it later, that he just wanted to relax and drink to really think of what to do, but he knew she deserved better.

A better explanation, a better boyfriend even. But he was selfish. He was so selfish to leave the way he did and still wanting her back in his arms right after.

“I…I can’t…she hates me.” He whispered, playing with the red string on his arm as it seemed rather interesting now that his best friend had her attention on him.

“You know [Y/N] better than all of us, Cloud. You know she would never hate you no matter what you do. Bless that girls heart because she has more patience than anyone I’ve known.”

Cloud knew she was right, tifa always was as annoying as it was.

But yet, he still felt embarrassed, insecure, and scared that if he went back home, this would be it, that this was the end of the two.

“[Y/N] told me what you did. You’re a mean loser who deserves to sleep on the streets tonight.” Yuffie huffed as she juggled around three materia orbs in her small hands.

“I didn’t mean it.” He tried to explain, but his friends glances were all he needed to know to really fix things up before everything became worse.

“Sometimes I wish I didn’t meet you so soon after her.”

He felt his chest ache and his eyes burn as he remembered those veil words escape his mouth earlier that day.

The two were arguing about god knows what, it was a pointless argument but you were so head on to stay talking about the situation instead of walking away like he would do, you really wanted to resolve this.

But he wouldn’t listen and you felt like you were talking to a brick wall.

You rather a brick wall than having to hear that sentence leave his lips.

You rather not ever hear a response from him again than ever feel the way you did the moment he yelled at you the way he did.

“For what it’s worth, Cloud. Y/N, truly loves you. Nothing would ever make her hate you, no matter how much sometimes we wish she did…maybe there would be someone who would truly love and appreciate her kindness.” Tifa bit her lip at Reno’s sincere words, everyone knew he what he said was honest from his heart.

Cloud knew it as well, which made him clench his jaw even harder.

Yuffie groaned, glaring at the red head as he shrugged, but everyone knew why he was pushing Cloud this way.

‘Just a little closer to the edge and he’ll jump.’

“I wonder how Zack would react with you crushing not only on his dead girlfriend, but being so hung up on her that you’re abandoning your own. I’d be embarrassed to even be mentioned in the same sentence if I were him.”

“You bastard!” Tifa made a small squeak as all the drinks on the bar were splashed away, a frail body now taking their places as the blond held a deathly grip on the turk’s neck.

“Cloud!” Everyone yelled, trying to get his steel grip on Reno off, but he wasn’t giving up just yet.

“Hurts doesn’t it? Words cloud, words hurt.” The two stared at each other, trying to beat the other from the harsh glares the two were piercing one another with. Usually Reno would back off rather quickly, joking around how serious Cloud looked.

But cloud was the one to look away this time. No words came from him as he picked up his buster sword, ignoring everyone’s concerned looks as he walked out of Seventh Heaven and into the cold night.

He grimaced as he saw his apartment that he lived with his girlfriend up ahead. No lights shinning like they usually would, the curtains drawn and no noises were heard. You could hear a pen drop from how quiet it was.

That scared him.

Cloud quickly unlocked the door, frowning as it already was unlocked when he knew [Y/N] and how she’d always lock the door after she came in or out, paranoid of the possibilities that could happen.

He almost lost his balance as he saw all of her clothes thrown all over the place, her shoes in the mix as well.

He walked slowly, gripping his sword tightly and made his way to their shared room. He couldn’t think straight, scared something or someone had taken her away from him once again.

But he felt a sense of relief when he heard sobs and sniffles coming inside yet his heart was aching at the same time.

Knocking on the the door slowly, Cloud felt his heart beat going faster than usual, hearing the way it gotten quiet all of a sudden.

“Go away, asshole.”

Ignoring her words, Cloud opened the door gently, his eyes immediately falling on her form that was sitting next to the window, the moon looming over her as her crystal like tears illuminated in the moonlight.

She looked so pretty when she cries.

Cloud placed his things down, making his way over. He felt his hands begin to shake as he gently picked her up and placed her on his lap.

A tight yet soft grip was launched onto her waist when she tried getting up, but to no luck she was staying put.

“Please just listen to me, okay? I want to apologize to you, baby.” He placed his cheek onto hers, feeling the tears that streamed down her face onto his as he held her and he continued.

“I’m so sorry. I’m sorry for saying such hurtful things. I’m so glad I met you when I did. I said that out of anger, out of frustration and you didn’t deserve that. It was so wrong of me.”

He felt his own tears brim his eyes as he spoke and felt her form pausing as she took everything in.

“What Aerith and I had…it’s over and done with. Even if she…even if she was alive right now, deep in my heart I know I’d still fall for you. I’d go through that pain all over again just to be able to see a glance of you for just a second even if it meant you’d never would’ve been mine. You make everything worth fighting for and I’m so sorry.”

No words were spoken for a good while, but Cloud cried as he felt her sob in his neck, wrapping her arms around him as she faced his front in the chair they both sat on.

“You’re such a jerk.”

“I know baby, I know I am.” He moved her hair out of the way as he looked deep in her eyes, taking every crevice on her pretty face that he would never get tired of looking at.

“I love you, so much. Please don’t hate me.” A soft chuckle escaped her mouth and her head shook in disagreement.

“I could never hate you, Cloud. No matter the circumstances I could and never will hate you.”

Burping as you trip over your own feet, you made your way into your shared room that belonged to you and your best friend, Mina.

You kicked off your heels, throwing your purse somewhere random, and plopping right down on your bed.

You heard little laughs from your best friend which made you giggle as you reached your hand and tickled her feet, making her toes scrunch up the more you tickled her.

She laughed at you and saying how messed up you were tonight as you sat up confused, only to feel your heart drop when you saw another body in the bed with her. And it wasn’t her feet you tickled, it was her boyfriend’s.

“Ew I’m embarrassed. Love you.” You mumble drunkily as you stood up to leave. You heard the two laugh at your clumsiness and the way you walked out. You waddled away, feeling the drunk flush along with the embarrassment over your face.

You had no idea where in the world you were going, but all you wanted was to just sleep. And what better room than the room you slept at before for different reasons.

You crawled into bed, making sure that the small dress you wore was still covering your bits as you made yourself at home on the bed.

You cuddled up to the pillows, sighing in relief that you finally had some peace and quiet alone while you felt yourself start to drift off.

“Move over a bit.” Katsuki nudged you, making you quickly sit up and starting to get up to leave the bed still very much drunk but alert at the roughness in his voice.

“I said move over not leave. Just move a bit. Here let me put a pillow under for you.” Feeling a bit out of it, you moved sluggishly to the wall.

“You alright? You comfy?” You ignored his question as you leaned your head on his arm, snoring.

He held onto you, still trying to take off the shirt he wore at the club but still keeping the wife-beater tank on as he began to get comfortable himself.

“This is weird. Usually you sleep here for uh…different reasons. This is nice.” Katsuki had his head on yours, hugging you as you both drowned out the noises of your roommates from the background, really taking in the company of each other.

“You’re one of my bestest friends, I love spending time with you.”

The only bad thing about this whole thing was the two of you refused to confess to one other. Even though the both of you wanted more.
