Chapter 11: Girls

YESTERDAY

“Rin, can we speak in the hallway, please?”

Suna nods, following Ine with her hand in his. However, Ine stops, realizing they’re were people within. This led the couple to go outside to one of the benches, both taking a seat.

“What did you wanna talk about, doll?”

Instead of blushing like she usually does, Ine takes her hand out of Sunas, fidgeting with her own fingers nervously.

“I don’t know if you’re gonna like what I’m going to say, Rin.” This makes Suna lift his head, staring at her head while she looks down.

“I’ve been hiding for so long, and I thought they would go away but these feelings aren’t really gone.” Ine says, lifting her head, but instead of looking at Suna, she looks forward.

“And god I wish that this wouldn’t happen with you, Suna. You don’t know how I just wished that is was a phase, or just some random thing that would pass. I love you, so much, but god damn they’re so pretty, it hurts.” She says, Suna tilting his head in confusion. As he processes her words, his eyes sadden, immediately grabbing her left hand gently.

“Is there a boy better than me? Have I not been good enough oh my god Ine I’m so sorry I promise I’ll be better-“

“I’m not talking about boys Rin,” Ine says, placing her other hand on top of his, looking him in the eyes as he continues to stare at her, sadness and confusion flooding his eyes and thoughts.

“I’m talking about girls.”

Ine bites her lip nervously, connecting eye contact with Suna once again to see the clarity come to his eyes. She’s not really knowing what to expect, since she just discovered she liked girls about 2 months ago after finding a girl on vacation.

Ine knew she’d never see her again, but just the feelings she had caught in such a small time, that could be compared to the feelings she had for Suna, it was bizarre.

Suna smiles softly at Ine, holding both her hands this time, one even reaching up to wipe at Ine’s eye that was forming tears slowly. The upcoming panic of coming out to her boyfriend to break up with him was terrifying to the girl.

“Ine, love.” Ine tried to avert her eyes, but Suna grabs her chin softly, making her look at him. He then cups both of her hands, placing a soft kiss upon them.

“Never, and I mean never, feel bad about that. I love you, still do and still will for a long time, but you literally just became yourself. Doll, you had to confidence to tell me, your boyfriend of all people, first. At least I think I’m first, that’s not the point.” He sighs, brushing a hand through his hair, “How could I ever deny you of being who you are? Plus, love is love, it’s feelings. It’s not like you get to choose who you love, Ine.”

At this point Ine had tears streaming down her face, letting out a choked laugh, she gave a wobbly smile, wrapping her arms around Suna’s neck as he hugged her by the waist.

After a minute of Suna soothing Ine, rubbing her back to calm the crying girl, she wiped her eyes of tears.

“So, who’s the lucky lady?”

Ine sighs, playing with her hands once again.

“There’s a girl on my volleyball team. You’ve met her once or twice, Takara. She’s so lovely, so sweet and kind, it’s insane.” Suna smiles at how Ine’s eyes light up when she speaks of Takara, her feelings now freely being shown.

“However, I obviously want to have respect for you so I’ll wait a while if I ever decide to do anything-“

“Bitch.”

Ine’s head snaps towards Suna, giving her a bored glare.

“I. DO. NOT. CARE! You’re feelings are your feelings and I promise I’ll be fine. But seriously go get that cooch-“

“SUNA RINTARŌ!”

“WHA IM BEIN HONEST!”

The now ex-couple begins to laugh at their antics, standing up after a few more minutes of talking to finally say goodbye.

“Are you really gonna be okay, Rin?”

“It stings? But what matters is your happiness Ine,” he places a hand on her shoulder and pulls her close, placing a sweet kiss on her forehead as she softly smiles,

“Go get the girl, Ine.”

Chapter 8: I wanna be your girlfriend

The pair walk outside, Akaashi’s head tilted upwards as he looks at the scenery around him. On the otherhand, Y/N continues to fidget with her fingers, her eyes glued to her feet on the ground, until they get to a secluded space.

“Alright N/N, what did you want to speak about?” He asks softly, looking at Y/N. She plays with her fingers, her eyes quickly meeting his, then with the same speed going back to the same spot of looking down at the ground.

“Keiji, I really want you to hear me out on this one, okay?” She asks, looking up at him for another second to see him nod at her with soft eyes. Y/N takes a breath in, trying to calm the nerves that are buzzing inside her.

“I l ike you, a lot. Possibly even love you and if that’s not the most terrifying thing I could have done for the past 3 years I’ve known you, than I don’t know what is. I know that yeah love is a meaningless concept since one day we’re all gonna die- let me not go down that road, heh. But Keiji, I don’t want to just be your best friend. I love being your best friend but you don’t know how hard it is to look at you and your gorgeous, stupid face everyday and just want to scream out any compliment and tell you that you make me happy and hug you and kiss you until I can’t breathe. YOU make me feel those things and I can’t help it, I’m sorry.”

Afterwards, Y/N breathes out, slightly out of breath from the long speech of her confession. Her eyes lift to reach Akaashi’s which are staring back to her. The pair look at each other for a while, trying to read each other as well as trying to figure out what to say.

Finally, Akaashi sighs, pulling Y/N into a hug as her arms go around his waist, his on her back. As they stand in silence, Y/N continues to silently freak out whilst waiting for an answer from the man in front of her.

“Y/N,” he calls, her eyes following upwards, however they are still in a hug.

“I never wanted it to be this way and god I am so stupid and I am so sorry, I never wanted to hurt you in your life I promise you with all that I have. I just, I can’t return those feelings.”

A little crack appears in her heart as she hears that last sentence. Y/N steps back, separating herself from him as tears slowly but surely begin to well in her eyes.

“O-Oh, that’s perfectly fine.” She gives him a small smile, the cracks in her voice giving away how many emotions she’s currently holding back.

“I’ll talk to you soon, Akaashi.”

Run with the Wind

I just started started this anime and I kid you not some of these characters remind of some characters in Haikyu!!

Kurahara reminds me of Kageyama. Not only does he look like Kageyama, he acts like him too and it’s adorable, I’m on episode 11 and ooo we love the character development 😌
