I saw a couple of people on TikTok and twt (x) do this and wanted to try it out.

Here’s my personal “Marauders ship opinions.” No hate to those with different tastes, to each their own.

It's honestly hilarious when people act like there's no information about the marauders and Lily in canon and therefore canon is irrelevant to the marauders fandom. As if Prisoner of Azkaban, Order of the Phoenix, Half Blood Prince, and Deathly Hallows don't exist.

The source material provides LAYERS of relevant information about these characters to anyone who has basic reading comprehension skills. The fun thing about the fandom is all in how we get to take all the info we're given and more fully develop it. Not in blatantly rejecting it all and creating ships and characterizations that directly contradict everything that makes these characters who they are.

James Potter would never date a Death Eater. That's a fact. James and Lily dedicated their entire adult lives to fighting against the very evil that said Death Eaters represent. Also a fact. James and Lily were in love and would do anything for their child. Also a fact. Sirius and James were two tall, wildly intelligent and talented wizards who came from immense privilege but threw all comfort and safety to the wind in the name of fighting for justice. Also a fact. Regulus Black, Barty Crouch Jr, and Evan Rosier were all virulent genocidal maniacs who willingly joined a cult dedicated to slaughtering innocent people in the name of blood purity. Also a fact. Those three were not marauders and would never be friends or love interests for them. A fact. To deny any of these facts is just bad reading comprehension.

The point of fanfiction is not to make the characters completely unrecognizable from everything we know about them in the source material. To do that is just to write original fiction with unoriginal names. Which is fine...just call it what it is.

There’s so much I want to say about this, but I don’t know how to get it out. I agree with this 100%

Another thing I really hate and that irks me to my core is when they hit you with a “If you can’t remember it then it wasn’t important” because how do you know it wasn’t important?! It felt important to me. You can’t just completely dismiss me and label my thoughts as “unimportant” simply because my stupid brain can’t catch up. I’m trying my hardest to remember, I swear, but it’s all just blank.

It honestly makes me feel so ashamed and slow.

we are so ableist about memory. people with good memory take for granted the fact that they can recall as much as they can, and use that to taunt, guilt and threaten people with memory issues. many neurotypes and mental illnesses cause memory lapses. traumatic brain injuries can cause memory lapses. brain cancer can cause memory lapses.

even if your memory is good, it's not right to guilt someone because they can't remember something. trust me, people with memory problems are desperately trying to remember: it's just that we literally can't. it is a very literal "i can't remember".

Lily Potter [née Evans] is just that girl. Even if you don’t like her or think she’s boring, you can’t lie, she’s awesome. Her love was so strong it was out there not only saving her son but saving hundreds of lives. Her love for others, specifically Snape, played a big factor in what helped Harry get to where he needed to go and do what he needed to do. It even gave Voldemort the chance to be “saved” if he chose to be.

Lily is the reason that there even is a next generation. Without her the wizarding world [possibly the Muggle world as well] would be doomed and all would be lost.

Gosh, the woman that she is. Love her to infinity and beyond ❤️💫
