Summary:It’s the last day of summer holiday,Harry is ready to start his fifth year at Hogwarts and you,as a muggle,are ready to start a new year in your high school. You are now at Dursley’s house to take your science book back from your friend Dudley but some Dementors suddenly attack you.

You rang the bell of Dursley’s house and Harry came to open the door <<Where’s Dudley?>> you asked rudely,without even saying hi to the boy <<Upstairs,why are you here?>> Harry demanded <<Why should I be here? I have to see Dudley,he hasn’t given my science book back since July started and I need it for tomorrow. But why should I give explanations to you,Potter? Let me in>> you pushed the boy aside and walked in the house,Petunia immediately welcomed you.

<<Hello darling! How are you? You want to see our Dudley?>> she asked,she had always been really polite to you and she had always loved spoiling you with sweets and homemade biscuits or cakes. You knew the woman hoped you would become Dudley’s girlfriend but you had never thought about it. Being Dudley’s girlfriend? Not even if he was the last boy on heart,just the idea of cuddle with him made you want to throw up.

<<I am. I need my science book back>> you said smiling;the woman was already offering you a piece of apple pie so you had to refuse it shaking your head <<Potter go and call my boy>> the woman yelled at Harry and he went upstairs,rolling his eyes.

A few minutes later Dudley came down <<What’s up?>> he asked,looking at you <<Where’s my book?>> you demanded,with your arms crossed and a pissed face <<Your book,right! Harry take it for me. It’s on my desk>> Dudley said <<Why should I? It’s her book in your room and you both have legs and hands to go up and take it>> <<I don’t fucking care,just give my book back to me!>> you exclaimed in exasperation,going upstairs.

Once you were in Dudley’s bedroom you took your book,run downstairs and then left the house followed by Dudley <<What about drinking something together?>> he asked <<I don’t have time>> you replied still walking <<But- >> you cut off Dudley’s sentece <<What the fuck is happening?>> you demanded,noticing that in a second the sky became grey and the cold wind started blowing hardly. You even got shives in your entire body because,suddenly,the temperature lowered.

You looked up and saw two strange black creatures flying towards you. You didn’t know how to describe them:they seemed to be skeletons covered in a black long ripped tunic.

As soon as Dudley had seen them he screamed and run away,but you were so scared that you couldn’t move. Your book slipped down from your hands,producing a suffocated noise as he touched the ground. Vapor coming out from your opened mouth as the coldness was slowly breaking into your bones. You didn’t know what to do,you just knew that you felt every single little drop of happiness leaving your body.

The two creatures began to fly around you,staring with their eyes,wich were just holes,into your soul. You could see their faces lacking of skin and flesh,getting every second more blurred. The energy in your body was slowly becoming less and less,until,without even realising it,you fainted.

Harry saw the grey sky and was about to go outside when he heard Dudley scream. <<There are ghosts mum! They’re black and they fly. They’re so fucking creepy!>> he yelled closing himself into his bedroom. Harry had immediately understood he was talking about dementors so,without thinking about anything,he ran outside.

He was looking at the sky,following the figures of the two dementors which weren’t so far away from his house. Once he reached them and saw you,lying on the ground unconscious,while the two monsters where sucking all your energy and happiness out from your pretty body he felt his heart break in one million pieces:he had already lived that scene,but his beloved godfather was replacing you.

He yelled out loud:<<Expecto Patronum>> and a beam of light hit the two creatures who just disappeared.

He run towards you and gently held your cold body,taking off his hoodie to cover you while he was softly calling your name <<Y/n,Y/n wake up. Please,wake up>>. His voice sounded like a sweet but far away lullaby.Your body was slowly warming under the gentle touch of the boy,you could feel butterflies in your stomach while your mind was desperately trying to understand where the voice was coming from. Once Harry’s voice sounded less far away you slowly started to get conscious again and opened your eyes. The sun was bright again,making everything harder to see. <<How are you?>> the voice asked you concerned <<I don’t know>> you muttered still confused,you needed a few moments to realise you were talking to Harry,who was holding you tightly.

You shut up and for a few seconds you stared into Harry’s deep eyes. You had never liked him,since you both were children you had always made fun of him with Dudley and you had always mistreated him. But in that moment you felt so safe in his arm and so sorry for had always been rude to him.

<<I was so cold and...the black creatures...what happened?>> you asked looking around,finally able to sit on your own. Harry took a breath of relief <<Luckily I arrived in time>> he said,adjusting his glasses <<You made them go away?>> you demanded <<Yes I did. You’re safe now,don’t worry>> he talked in a reassuring tone of voice,standing up and offering you his hand to help you stand up as well. <<I’m so confused...why were those monsters attacking me?>> you asked,holding Harry’s hand <<They weren’t monsters,they were Dementors>> <<Dementors?>> <<Yes,they suck happiness out from people’s bodies,but they’re not supposed to be here>> <<So where are they supposed to be?>> <<It’s a long story>> Harry replied,picking your book up from the ground to give it back to you <<Would you like to tell me something more about it since they attacked me?>> <<I’ll do. Come on let’s get some chocolate>> <<Chocolate?>> you asked still in confusion <<It’s another long story>> he smiled,adjusting the hoodie which was slipping down from your shoulders <<That’s yours>> you said <<Keep it for now. You need to stay warm>>.

You and Draco were sitting together on a bench in the Hogwarts garden,busy revising for the forthcoming test of Arts against the black magic.

<<Can you tell me about the Boggart?>> you asked <<Boggart? Is it in the test?>> <<I think so? We have revised it a few day ago>> <<Shit I totally forgot!>> Draco mumbled,opening the book and frenetically browsing the pages,you smiled <<It’s fine,I’m sure you remember what a Boggart is>> <<It’s a non being creature which takes the form of your biggest fear>> he answered <<That’s it,that’s my boy!>> you hit his shoulder with a little punch,making the boy laugh.

Your smile got bigger as you saw his reaction,it had been months since you last saw Draco smiling. You were so happy <<It’s getting better isn’t it?>> you asked,Draco looked at his forearm and sighed <<I have to deal with it. I’m scared>> he sighed,you took his arm and rolled up the sleeve of his shirt,kissing the bending <<I told you that you’re not evil,Draco,we’ll get through this>>.

He was about to speak when you saw his eyes jump behind you and then he fastly rolled the sleeve down,making you realise something was wrong. You turned back and saw Lucius coming towards you.

<<Why are you here?>> Draco asked to his father in a cold voice,nervously bouncing his leg up and down,you noticed it and held his hand to remind him you were by his side. The man looked at you,bother in his eyes,<<Why are you always around Y/n?>> he asked <<I’m his girlfriend>> you immediately growled <<Yeah...whatever...>> Lucius mumbled:he had never liked you.

<<Let’s go Draco,we need to talk>> Draco left your hand and stood up <<I’ll see you in your dorm,okay?>> you asked <<Sure>> Draco replied and followed his father.

You were now sitting on the bed of his prefect room,nervously playing with your hands. You were scared of what was about to come;everytime Draco had talked with his father he had always ended up breaking down and crying for hours,with harsh panic attacks.

You hated so much that man,today Draco didn’t feel so bad,he laughed and he was in the mood for studying,but Lucius had came and ruined everything once again.

The door suddenly opened. <<Draco!>> you exclaimed running towards the boy <<What is it?>> you asked,the Slytherin closed the door and rested his forehead on the harm he lent on the door <<They...they want me to...>> he was crying again and he was barely able to speak <<What they want?>> you asked,hugging him from behind and resting your chin on his shoulder <<They want me to kill Dumbledore>>.

You got petrified,but Draco turnded and wrapped his arms around your neck,sinking once again his face in the cloth of your shirt.

You caressed his back and sighed. Things were getting out of control and you had enough.

<<Fine-you growled-I need to talk with your father>> <<What the fuck are you talking about?! Do you want to get killed?>> Draco’s way of acting immediately changed:he wiped his tears away and looked at you,standing straight. It didn’t matter how he felt or what was going on in his life,everything related to you was something he had to take care of so he would be sure you wouldn’t get hurt <<They can’t kill us until Dumbledore’s here>> you replied,opening the door and running away.

Draco immediately followed you <<Don’t you fucking dare to get involved in this!>> he shouted <<I already am! I’m tired Draco they’re crossing the line,you’ve suffered too much!>> you yelled back.

In a few minutes you were walking down the corridors of the school,looking for Lucius.

<<You!>> you shouted pointing a finger to the man,he turned,looking at you with furrowed eyebrows and a evil smirk on his lips. Draco suddenly grabbed your wrist <<Don’t you fucking dare!>> <<Oh I dare,man,I fucking dare!>> your eyes were full of anger while you held your wand,pointing it at the man <<I’m tired of you fucking toadies. If you want to be Voldemort’s personal servants it’s okay,I’ll kill each one of you as soon as the war comes but don’t you fucking involve Draco. He’s not like you!>> you yelled at him <<Look at this Hufflepuff,I’m surprised of your courage,Mrs>> the man came towards you,his wand already in his hand. The silver snake on the top of it was staring into your soul:it seemed he was ready do bite and fill your body with its poison.

Draco immediately came between him and you <<Don’t you dare to hurt her>> he said,looking into his father’s eyes <<Draco,move>> he replied <<I’m not>> Draco kept staring at the man who step back <<Let’s go. You’re no longer a student of this school>> the man suddenly said,you looked at Draco <<Please don’t go...>> you muttered.

<<I said:let’s go,Draco>> Lucius kept talking in a firm and cold voice,but the boy didn’t move,he just looked down and swallowed his spit,then he held your hand <<I’m not leaving>> he said in a cold voice.Your heart ached:Draco seemed so confident but you knew he was facing his biggest fear and risking his life at the same time <<I’m sorry father. I’m not evil>> he said.

Lucius looked at him <<Stop pretending to be the hero of the situation,Draco,you got an assignment>> <<I’m not doing it,I’m not going to kill a person. I refuse to take someone’s life,father,I wouldn’t be able anyway,and you know it>>. Lucius glared at his son,a disgusted expression slowy appeared on his face <<You’re the disgrace of the family>> the man said,walking away.

You saw those words hitting Draco deep in his heart,for years he had been trying to receive appreciation from his father,he had been trying to make him happy but he had always failed and now all his chances were gone,forever.

<<You’re not a disgrace Draco-you said hugging him-you’re the best person this world could have,you’re the strongest boy I’ve ever met. Draco you have taken your choice,as you wanted>> <<I know-Draco’s arms wrapped around your shoulders,a gentle kiss was left on your head-but what’s happening know?>> he asked <<We’ll know soon,but don’t worry. We’re in this together,we’re in this with Hogwarts>>.

During the class you and Ron didn’t care about winning the Veritaserum,you just cared about having fun and joke together. You also found out that Ron was right when it came to who was the worst at potions between you two:his Amortentia exploded on his face meanwhile yours worked. It wasn’t the best of the class,but you were quite proud of yourself. What really made you worry was the smell of your potion:freshly mown grass and spearmint,which was a toothpaste flavor. Who could have such a strange scent? <<See you at the Three Broomsticks this evening Y/n. I have to offer you a Butterbeer>> Ron smiled with a soot-dirty nose;you laughed <<I’ll be there>>.

That evening

<<Would you like to tell me what you smelled with the Amortentia?>> asked Ron putting two Butterbeers on the table <<It was a strange smell. You didn’t smell anything right?>> <<Y/n my potion exploded>> Ron scratched his forehead in sign of embarrassment <<Yeah you’re right-you suddenly remembered you still had with you your Amortentia-try it now>> you said taking out the vial from the pocket of your hoodie <<Why are you keeping with you the Amortentia?>> asked the Weasley <<I don’t know. I’m proud of it,just smell that damn potion Ron. I’m curious!>> you giggled. Ron opened the object and smelled the potion <<It’s good>> he smiled <<Come on,what have you smelled?>> you asked with your hands on the table <<Roses,cinnamon and fresh fruit>>.

Suddenly you were Paralyzed. You were sure it was your scent:you had some roses in your bedroom and you loved both cinnamon rolls and fresh fruit. <<Is anything wrong?>> asked Ron worried,seeing your strange reaction <<No,don’t worry>> you replied,pretending everything was fine <<What about you?>> he demanded <<I smelled freshly mown grass and spearmint.
