Of all the things I should’ve said, That I never said. All the things we should’ve done, That we never did. All the things I should’ve given, But I didn’t.

Doubt
I doubt myself. All the time. I over analyze every decision I make and expect the worst possible outcome. I never predict perfection or even that something will work out properly. Majority of the time it doesn't. There were a few times where doubt has held me back, where the fear of inadequacy was abundant to the point where it inhibited my determination. I beat myself before I even attempt. You could see this as a resolution but it's just another promise to myself on a coincidentally sentimental day for others. Here it goes:
I promise this year I will fuck up.
This will not be smooth sailing.
I will feel lower than usual when an attempt fails.
This will all come from the fact that I at least tried.
I tried and failed.
I tried and won.
I tried and did not lose or fail, just came out OK.
But in the end I will walk away, not with another 'what if' but with the very notion that at least I tried. I promise I will end every day replacing 'what if I' with 'at least I know.'
Cheers to another midnight, another sunrise, another day, another chance at getting better.
What's worse? One seeing their situation as worse than it is and seeking pity from others or one who is seemingly OK with the tragic sympathy while ignoring the genuine pity that others place on them?
Life doesn't care about your vision. You just gotta roll with it.
-Ben's Dad (Knocked Up)
Life is completely superfluous. Like a diamond on a ring, life is just an embellishment upon the universe's expanse. It is not necessary for the universe's existence to continue. If each of our lives were taken today the infinite vastness of stars and galaxies would not flinch. Nothing is altered, time would move forward and the planets stay in orbit. There is nothing permanent about our lifetimes which will surpass the death of humanity. In fact, life is actually impractical as it kills Earth slowly.
However ugly it may be the diamond has a meaning to the intended owner alone. Regardless of what our lives mean to others it still has a meaning if you place one in it. It is a luxury that trillions upon trillions of others did not receive. Life is something that the recipient can never even dream to afford, a luxury we should be so grateful for and yet it still continues to be disregarded. Like a person seeking opinions from others on their diamond they completely miss out on the meaning they were intended to place onto it themselves. It symbolizes something to each person regardless of what others think. With something as luxurious, as priceless and as perfect as life there is no need to search for a meaning but to reap the rewards of just having the opportunity to live it. That's the meaning. There is no meaning to be found but the rather simple idea that you live. In a universe that didn't need something as beautiful and as precious as life a series of perfectly coordinated events led to your birth which provided you the opportunity to exist. Life is an impractical luxury that each recipient will never deserve so at least try to pay back the debt by focusing on the miracle of just being.
