I like to think theres like a dimension bus that takes you from universe to universe, and she got picked up by horde soldiers and shadow weaver after the incident bc weavers like "ya this cat is powerful as bro pick her up", and vander had been raising her sinslce she was a baby bc her bio parents couldnt take care of her and they were good friends of vanders and he names her Elizabeth

And to answer ur other question, its actually too terrible of a thought for jinx to be able to comprehend so she doesnt. Her brain is convinced shes off doing her own thing and is well and truly alive, which just makes her think catra hates her for killing the rest of their family. Jinx gets to say a big "i told u so" to vi and ekko once they find catra again tho

MORE ARCANE THOUGHTS

one of the things that hits me about Arcane is how much Jinx and Vi love each other. Like you can FEEL IT.

Vi has been raising her since she was ten (how old is she when their parents die? Does anyone know?). To me it always feels like a mother-daughter relationship more so than a sisterly relationship. And that’s why she just can’t let her go. She can’t move on because yeah it’s her sister but it’s also her kid her BABY.

And it’s the same with Jinx. She doesn’t even remember their mom most likely. She remembers Vi. She remembers her pep talks and her rough but gentle hands. For all intents and purposes, that’s her mom. And that makes her “rejection” (it’s not really rejection but yk Jinx’s perspective) burn so much worse. And it’s the way Vi’s absence is echoed in every crevice of her being. Her scribbles at the edge of the screen spell Vi, her leather chokers spell Vi, and she even adds pink to her whole color scheme because it was Vi’s color. AND WHEN THEY ARE REUNITED AND JINX ASKS IF SHE IS REAL IMPLYING SHE HAS DREAMED THIS BEFORE OH GOD. And for their whole reunion she’s just a child again. She forgets her violence and anger and hatred and she just cries in her arms, so happy to have her sister (read: mom) back.

Too bad it doesn’t last.
