Firstly, the Entire Batfam celebrates Christmas and Hanukkah together no matter religious beliefs.

Then Damian showed up.

He never really understood Christmas (he was raised pretty sheltered obviously).

Like, it had to be explained to him several times.

Especially Santa Claus.

He’ll by the chimney with a sword and Goliath by his side rambling about how “no strange, plus-sized, man will dare trespass on this mansion or so help me!”

He’ll fall asleep eventually though.

Once he gets a good present or two, he decides he’ll begrudgingly allow this “Claus” man to visit again. Possibly.

Brags to Jon that he gets three times the presents.

Introduces the Batfam to Muslim celebrations.

Loves Eid, HATES Ramadan.

Eid-al-Fitr means gifts!

Eid-al-Fitr means giving as much of Bruce’s money to the animal shelters as possible because, hey, obligatory acts of charity!

Eid-al-Fitr means Pennyworth learning how to make Barfi and Sheer Khurma!

But Ramadan…

Ramadan means no missions or sparring because he can’t fight except out of self-defense.

Ramadan means no cursing out Drake and Todd.

Ramadan means not being Robin because Pennyworth will shout:

“Master Damian, you have taraweeh to attend, this is close to your only time to eat and I refuse to have you accompany your father and then be on your way to school completely starved!”

But at least, he can make subtle jabs at Tim for his coffee addiction.

Bats and their first language

Bruce: English, but he learned a weird mix of American and British English. Half the time his kids have no idea what he’s trying to say

Dick: Romani, since that’s largely what his parents spoke. He grew up learning English as well, but was fluent in Romani first and he often forgets English words and gestures vaguely until someone figures out what he’s saying

Jason: Spanish and English. He grew up in a bilingual household, but he has such a heavy Gotham accent that half the time you can’t figure out what he’s saying in English so he switches to Spanish

Tim: English. Ya boy may be Korean, but his parents were third generation immigrants, and they didn’t know enough Korean to even think about teaching Tim. His grandparents ended up teaching him, but by then he was already fluent in English

Damian: Arabic. It’s all that was ever spoken to and around him till he was five, and then he was learning English and Spanish and a few other languages

Barbara: she grew up in a bilingual house hold as well, and she and Jason will often speak in rapid fire Spanish. They do this a lot on patrol and Bruce would like them to stop, please, we can’t all follow what your saying—

Cass: sign language~ more specifically ASL, because it is the most common form. The only one who knew enough ASL to fluently speak with her was Jason, but Bruce was quick to learn and everyone else soon followed

Steph: Would you believe in was Japanese? Her dad had a lot of contacts in Japan, and he fully expect Steph to take over the ‘family business’, so he taught her Japanese first

Duke: English, but he picked up a lot of Spanish from school and just being out in the Gotham streets. Not enough to be 100% fluent, mind you, but enough to not die

Helena: English, but she picked up both Spanish and Italian very quickly when she was little. The Spanish was from Selina, but she couldn’t tell you where the Italian came from

My point is that a lot of bats know Spanish and even though Bruce can speak it he can’t keep up with the rapid fire Spanish Jason please stop doing this every time you join us on patrol I have no idea what any of you are saying child please—

H/C Of Damian Having Braces

A/N: @akira-daiyamondo-suta I’m so sorry if this took so long! I’ve been busy with school and such! But I hope you like it!

~Damian realized he needed braces when he brushed his teeth one night

~He frowned and looked closer in the mirror and realized he had crowding teeth

~The next day he informed his father about it

~Of course, Bruce decided to take him to the orthodontist for a check up

~The orthodontist confirmed that Damian needed braces

~Damian was mortified

~He already was wearing glasses and on top of all that he has to wear braces

~He was upset but agreed to do it

~A few weeks after that, he went to the orthodontist and started with treatment

~The orthodontist first put on spacers between his teeth

~He had to wear them for a few days

~Then they took them off, a few days after that, they put them on again

~After a few more days, the orthodontist takes off the spacers

~Next step was the appliance

~The appliance’s purpose was to make room in his mouth

~Before putting on the appliance, they first had to make a mold of his mouth

~After making the mold they measured the appliance to match the size of his mouth

~They finally put the appliance on

~He had to wear it for a week, but Bruce or Alfred had to turn the appliance with this hook everyday until his next appointment when they take it off

~After a week, the orthodontist takes it off

~THEN THE LAST STEP COMES...BRACES

~A few days after they took out the appliance, they put on the braces

~It was a two hour procedure

~When Damian was done, Bruce took him straight home

~He looked in the mirror, he felt awkward seeing himself, wearing glasses and also braces

~Dick was grinned and took lots of photos

~Jason started laughing so hard his stomach hurt

~Tim was speechless

~Babs was telling him all the fun facts about braces

~Steph hugged him

~Cass pinched his cheeks and smiled

~Jon and Billy keep on teasing him for eating soft foods

~Damian doesn’t really talk much so people won’t really see his braces

~He has to say goodbye to all his favorite foods

~Brushing and flossing is a nightmare for him

~Sometimes his head hurts because of the braces

~He has to go to the ortho to tighten them

~Everyone at school is shocked to see Damian wearing braces and glasses at the same time

~But Damian knows that braces aren’t permanent

~Which is why he doesn’t let it bother him
