I messaged the band Emery on instagram today and they replied.

Since Rub Some Dirt on It came out I’ve listened to “Stranger” religiously, I interpreted as someone with religious trauma or in an abusive relationship. It’s such a powerful song, so I really wanted to know the actual meaning and to be honest I do regret asking, because hearing it now you can definitely tell and I can’t help but cry because it’s such an emotional and powerful song that it hurts even more to know how personal it is. So, I learned I should just stick to my own meaning of how a song makes me feel lol

I’m about to cry, getting back 184 hours of back pay from my job next paycheck. I was on non paid medical leave for a few months and was supposed to return on Dec 1st but wasn’t able to because my access expired and was messed up for me to work from home and so I didn’t start again till Jan 5th. So my manager honestly has been very helpful with everything even when I was on leave, I’m very thankful I have her as my manager compared to other managers I’ve had at my job. They weren’t going to pay me at first but she fought hard for me even though I was okay with not getting paid 😭 I felt bad for even going on leave that’s why, though I won’t be getting my shift differential pay (I work nights so get 15% more) but I’m not complaining I’m just happy I can put money back into my savings that I’ve used 😩

Does anyone else get stupid happy that they were born the same year as their favorite characters??
