I'm so so so tired of the "meds as a last resort" mentality.

If I get a migraine, could I rub peppermint oil on my temples and lay in a dark room and suffer along until the pain abates and I can take pride in surviving on my will power alone? Sure, I fucking guess. Or I could take my fucking meds and have a functional day.

And the same goes for my damn Adderall. Clearly, I can *survive* without Adderall for my ADHD. I did it for my entire life up until I FINALLY got diagnosed earlier this year. But guess what? I dont NEED my meds. I COULD go without them. I don't fucking want to. I am so much more functional with them, and there is no honor in unnecessary suffering.

Medicine isn't a moral failing and there isn't a specially little corner of heaven reserved for folks who took the fewest number of pills in their life.

You had come down with the flu. You spent the last day lying in bed, alternating between being too cold with too little blankets and being too hot, throwing all the blankets off of you. Then, it must have been around noon, Zhongli had come around and brought you some soup. Ever since you arrived in Liyue Harbour a few years back, he had been like a father to you. He made sure to check up on you at least once per day, you had lunch together with him and he had helped you find a job at a proper business.

When he didn’t see you that morning, he became worried and decided to check on you. On the way to your home, he was stopped by a friend of yours who told him you were sick. He turned around immediately, got some money and got you some soup.

He handed the bowl to you and guided you to sit up, helping you drink. Afterwards, he made some herbal tea and got a wet rack for your forehead.

Afterwards, you didn’t really notice anything anymore, switching between being asleep and half-awake, but every time you woke up, Zhongli was there at your bedside, something to drink for you and dinner in the evening. He urged you to eat something, saying that it’ll make you feel better. He wouldn’t get too close to you, because you insisted that he shouldn’t get sick as well.

You woke up in the morning already feeling much better, although Zhongli insisted you take another day off. He talked to your boss, who was very understanding and sent his well-wishes as well. Another day with someone who became like a father to you over the months was all you needed to be up and better in record time.
