Whumptober- Chapter 6: Not Realizing They're Injured

Warnings: blood, implied violence

Thankfully for Hyrule, Wild had found an elixir to restore his energy and magic. He stared at Sky, still having a hard time comprehending how much pain he was perpetually in.

He was healing Wars’s leg, trying not to think too much about the bloody arrow in his right hand. He felt the flesh and skin mending under his hand.

He had already healed Legend’s fingertips, which had gotten burned because he overused his fire rod. He had healed Time’s collapsed lung and Four’s damaged knees. He felt strange that he so frequently escaped battles uninjured. Were the others protecting him because he was the healer? He was perfectly capable on the battlefield. 

He sighed and caught up to Twilight, who had a fairly shallow cut on his hip. He could feel his energy draining, but he needed to heal his brothers. He looked at Sky, expecting him to be healed, but he wasn’t. He had been worrying about Sky so much that he forgot that he hadn’t healed him yet. 

He caught up with Sky, who was pale and mildly bleeding. He was bandaged and wrapped to the point where if he was in a tomb, he wouldn’t look out of place. Despite being in tremendous amounts of pain and having been neglected up until that point, he smiled when he noticed Hyrule. 

“How are the others doing?”

Hyrule knew there was no time for pleasantries.

“What do you need me to heal… you have so many wounds…”

“Yourself.”

Hyrule was beyond confused by Sky’s answer. “What do you mean? Are you okay?”

Sky reached behind Hyrule and gingerly touched his back.

Hyrule yelped in pain, and when Sky drew his hand back, there was blood on his fingertips.

“Heal yourself. I’ve lived for much longer in this condition before, unfortunately. I’ll do it again.”

His calmness vaguely disturbed Hyrule, but Hyrule listened to the request of his brother. He sought out Wild, who had found some healing ingredients.
