To Be Up With You
“To be up with you
with Cyno”

“I want to be with you,” he weakly tried to argue. The general had been trying through the night to stay awake with you. His reasoning? That he wants to be with you
It seemed silly, and you’re right. Because he absolutely is.
After all his patrolling and work, you thought a day off was in order. Even though he challenged you to genius invokation TCG several times, you watched and took care of him. Ensuring he could rest.
He objected this arrangement, but eventually relented until it came time for bed.
Even as he struggled to keep his ruby eyes open, he claimed that he had to stay up with you.
“Allow me to stay awake, or face. . .” He trailed off as you gently pushed him back. He had no energy to put up a fight.
You crawled under the covers of your bed alongside him. While he drew you in close, you whispered something that didn’t quite register in his exhausted mind.
“I’m not leaving your side any time soon, so please. Try to rest.”

“Rest well, my dear
with Kaveh”

He didn’t rest enough. That was why he was bothered. You kept reminding yourself of that while in your living room, as he had occupied your bedroom desk to work on a project with an upcoming deadline.
Within a few minutes he’d come out calmer and explain how he felt while apologizing.
But it didn’t occur. You were not sought out by him.
Worried that he was bothered on a deeper level, you made your way to where he was. As you creaked open the door, you heard soft mumbling. And pushing it open further, revealed a sleeping figure. Your boyfriend.
With a smile, you shook your head. At least he was resting. And as much as you’d love for him to be in the bed, a more comfortable place of rest, disturbing him might cause issue. He could, being the stubborn worker he was, try to work more on the project.
So you settled for grabbing a soft blanket from your bed and draping it over him.

“Rising water levels
with Furina”
Modern AU

You’d been made aware of her fear of the rain, well, the anxiety at least. When a clap of thunder would reign down, you were no fool when it came to feeling her grip tighten around your hand or waist.
Or perhaps you were.
While you were unconscious still, the false archon had been awoken by a trembling strike of lightning. It didn’t sound too close, but it certainly shook her. Helplessly turning to you, she was conflicted. You were sleeping through it fine.
The only thing she was capable of doing in that moment was try to shift her way closer without waking you. It didn’t matter to her if you would mind or not, she couldn’t let you see her like this. What idiot is afraid of storms anyway?
So she was focused on the rain that was attempting to make a forced entry into her mind. She didn’t even sense or feel your arms reach around her. Barely aware of her fright in its entirety, you pulled her closer into your own body.
Letting go for only a moment to grab your headphones off the bedside table, she panicked. “Wait, please!”
It was a near shriek. One she would surely be embarrassed by if she wasn’t so terrified.
“I’m here, okay? I’m not going anywhere, Furina.” You placed the headphones in front of her shivering body. She was shaking, but rigid as well. “I am never going to leave your side in your time of need. I promise you that.”

MAFU, YOUR WORKS ARE BEAUTIFUL <333
ᯓ✿ there was no saving you
ˋ°•*⁀➷ inspired by this amazing fic by beau 🫶 in which your illness only seems to get worse
ˋ°•*⁀➷ baizhu x gn! reader
₊˚ ANGST!!! MUCH ANGST, marrying a corpse but like not in a weird way, character death (reader)

he wished he knew from the very second you met that it wasn’t meant to last. the medicines he had brewed for you kept you sleeping and comfortable until the inevitable end. something kept baizhu standing by that bed, he could have gave up but he took care of you. even as you became weaker and barely able to stand for longer than a minute, he was losing sleep looking for something, anything that could cure you. maybe it was his dedication to medicine, or maybe he loved you despite your fleeting life.
in the middle of the night, the doctor had fallen asleep at his desk when he awoke from a nightmare and decided that enough is enough. he had realized something that night, something he hadn’t realized he wanted. baizhu knew deep down that there was absolutely nothing he could do to save you from the rapidly approaching end, this thing is going to kill you sooner rather than later. he’d find himself talking to you while you were fast asleep under the influence of the cocktail of medicines he’d given you to keep you comfortable, telling you everything and pretending you could hear him. if he could only take the ailment that will soon take your life and transfer it to himself, he would in a heartbeat.
as your condition further deteriorated, he knew the end would come in only days. as you took your last breath before falling into an eternal sleep, baizhu’s heart shattered into a million pieces. placing a silver ring on your finger, he’d carry your lifeless body to the grave he prepared just outside his house.
day after day, the doctor would place the flowers you loved on your grave, hopelessly praying that you’d be happy and without the illness that had taken your fleeting life on the other side.
“Close, but not your favorite
with Navia”

With her obligations in her life, you should’ve expected that you wouldn’t take priority. Even with her attempts to fill in gaps and plan dates, it wasn’t rare when cancellations would take place due to her inability to attend. She just had too much to do.
So you’d bite your tongue each time one of the Spina’s members would come to you directly and inform you of her absence.
It was as if life had favorites, and you weren’t one of them.
But to tell her, claiming that it’s simply too much to handle. How pathetic would that be? That you can’t handle not being a focus in her already busy and bustling life.

"She might let you stay
with Kinich"

Walking into your home for something more than just a friendly hangout was an experience Kinich never dreamt of encountering. He never really dreamt of hanging out with anyone. In his head, there wasn't much use for dreaming of others. At least, that was the case before you.
In your comfortable attire, you smiled at him from your couch. "I'm so glad you were able to come, Kinich." It wasn''t his first time in your abode, but it was the first time you asked him on a date. Granted, it wasn't anything special. Just a dinner at home with maybe a kiss at the end.
"I wouldn't leave you hanging. You should know that by now if we are going to date." So upfront, as always. He took his seat beside you and was a bit taken aback as you leaned against him. His left shoulder was made into a pillow as you relaxed into his stiff figure.
It wasn't something he ever prepared himself for. The feeling of another person making home in his heart before he could prepare for any cautionary measures.
