A porch of a nice house or cottage

It oversees a big garden with a forest or a lake (or both) in the background

It's sunny but the shade of the porch makes it easy to see my screen

It's late afternoon, warm but not too much

I can listen to the birds and trees or put on some music (depending on what my brain needs atm)

I have a nice cup of coffee and a big jug of water with herbs and lemon and maybe a little treat

there are people (my friends or family) somewhere in the house or the garden but they are doing their own things quietly, not disturbing me

feeling your characters emotions

I think one of my greatest strengths as a writer is that I really feel my characters emotions. But what this means is that whenever a character is feeling really stressed or anxious (which happens a lot) I feel really stressed and anxious. So I’ve almost given myself anxiety attacks a couple times

writing advice

usually I look for advice and don’t post it but I thought of this and felt like I should share with the class

when writing anything, long stories, short stories, poems, songs, whatever, don’t be afraid to stop and come back or to take a step back from writing for a moment.

I love the unsleeping city and Cody is a fun character but when I tell you that him wielding the questing blade in episode 5 starting at 20 minutes in and onward made me so mad

I had to stand up and walk away from the tv just breathing so I could calm myself down
