word of honor as whisper posts
okay but does helian yi even know of wenzhou? I know practicaly and canonically they would never see eachother as long as they live nor would have any contact. bUt- imagine if he recieves a wedding invitation on a random tuesday with no prior context and wonders why his friends are Like That. what if he goes in disguise and sees xiyuan there, freaks out and immediately starts cursing out wu xi
zzs freaking out and shaking wkx: I TOLD YOU YOU NEEDED TO GIVE LORD SEVENTH A DISGUISE-
wkx who wanted chaos: i just wanted to see what would happen-
lu ta coming from behind wu xi and running to jby: Dad!
jby: ...
wx: ...
zzs: ...
wkx: ...
helian yi: *starts hyperventilating*
What do you think happened to zhou zishu in jing beiyuan's first life? ill be honest I don't think he would've retired in this life. I think he died while serving helien yi. what if he did retire with the seven nails in him and passed away quietly in siji manor. liang jiuxiao would still be alive but I can't see him inhereting heavens window so he'll possibly taking over siji manor and would be the one taking care of zzs as he withers away.
What about wkx tho? I feel like meeting wkx was a drastic change to zzs life plot wise atleast meanwhile wkx would probably see all the mess in jianghu and return but would pass away during the rebellion in ghost valley during the last scene where instead of zzs there to save him, there is no one.
I do wonder what would've happened to gu xiang. did she meet cao weining in this life? would she be away living with him or dead again in the rebellion? would wkx send her away somewhere safe if he knew the rebellion is taking place or would she die protecting him?

“There is a crack in everything. That’s how the light gets in.”
— Leonard Cohen, Anthem
Thinking about Zhou Zishu feeling like he's actually Meeting Wen Kexing for the first time all over again after he regains his senses.
The first time he sees him with clear eyes, sees his smile, sees his handsome face that has gotten him into so much trouble. The first time he hears him laugh and say "A-xu" without it being muffled. The first time he gets close and can smell what kind of perfume he uses, what oil he puts in his hair. The first time he touches him and the dull response of his fingertips becomes a song of how warm he is, how soft his robes are, how silky his newly silver hair feels flowing over his hand.
How amazing it must have been to feel like you are coming back to life just by experiencing the presence of your soulmate fully for the first time, no barrier of nails tearing your flesh and deadening your senses, keeping you apart even if he's right in front of you. When he'd spent so much of their relationship slowly slipping further and further away, fading, how much more he must have cherished finally having all of Wen Kexing, not just having all of him, but actually being able to feel it?
In this episode I was literally bawling my eyes out and suddenly my older sister came into my room was like why are you crying I tried telling her but I don't even know if I even said words but the point is she understood and then awkwardly tried to comfort me (patting me awkwardly) Because I didn't want to believe it ended like this I searched Word of Honor ending and I saw captures of the true ending and then continued to cry
(me after finishing the series)

(me being like this can't be happening while watching the episode)

Zhou Zishu and Wen Kexing in every episode → Episode 36
“The one surviving will be the most painful. You’re my shixiong, please allow me.”

well… behold my attempt on “okay i’ll make a quick environmental sketch just for practice and i definitely won’t spend 16+ hours on it”
Okay but like Wen Kexing at least wanted redemption in doing good things to clear his name in the end; Xue Yang was evil and he knew it to the point that even when he found the life he could have had and a family he wanted, he couldn't help ruining it and never admitting that he did anything wrong. His "regret" manifested in doing even MORE insane stuff to try and maintain control and push the blame onto others.
I love both of these unhinged boys but at least my lovely Wen Kexing got his senses back with the power of true love and eyeliner-remover
Most Unhinged Round 3: Wen Kexing (Word of Honor) vs Xue Yang (The Untamed)

[Submitted Reasons Under Cut]
Wen Kexing: "that scene in episode 4 where he’s like frowning and upset that he got blood on his hands… babygirl YOU just stuck your hand through a man’s throat after single handedly massacring like 40 people in broad daylight. What did you think was going to happen…. And then next episode he’s like “oh poor little old me I can’t even kill a chicken. who is going to take care of me I’m just a humble little philanthropist who needs a big strong man to protect me.” babygirl you’ve led a bloody reign of terror for like 8 years now after skinning your predecessor alive and the people known as being the most cutthroat and evil in the whole martial arts world literally call you Lunatic Wen because you regularly gruesomely kill your subordinates to make examples of them…. He recognized a boy he met once as a child 20 years later by his shoulder blades and decided to marry him right then and there. He decided to not burn down the entire world because he wanted to become a housewife. If he was hinged once, he no longer is now."
Xue Yang: "Spoilers but this man had his pinky finger run over as a child and decided to murder literally everyone in retaliation. He thought ending many lives equated to his loss of the smallest and least useful appendage on one hand. He tricked a man into murdering the love of his life so that he could continue being with him (the man was blind and didn’t know who he was). When the man found out what he did he killed himself and xue yang tried to reanimate him. Sick. Twisted. Unhinged."
Word of Honor but it's just Zhao Jing touching people
Drama: Word of Honor 山河令
Zhao Jing touches people. A lot. Other people like touching him, too. This compilation took way too long to make.
Because I'm currently thinking about how Changing Ghost reacted to White Grim Reaper being killed, do you have any headcanons about the relationship between the two?

Thanks for the ask! It’s been a while since I’ve thought about this scene, but I remember being incredibly intrigued by Wuchang Gui’s reaction to the situation. He takes a massive risk by trying to defend Bai Wuchang and appears to genuinely care about him. Given how his response to Hei Wuchang getting poisoned by Du Pusa was more along the lines of anger rather than distress or concern, it seems like Wuchang Gui carries a sense of favoritism towards Bai Wuchang.
I headcanon both Wuchang Gui and Bai Wuchang as eunuchs, which they may find a degree of solidarity in (though they likely don’t have a shared past, given the age difference).
I do think Bai Wuchang is closer with his brother than Wuchang Gui, but that it’s thanks to both of their protection that he survived as long as he did. Bai Wuchang is likely much weaker than his ranking suggests, and he’s probably terrified of the other ghosts. He looks to Wuchang Gui and his brother for safety, but even they can’t protect him from the Valley Chief.

"Wait! I'm just a cicada, I'm afraid of ghosts!"

Word of Honour spoilers up to and including episode 6 (rewatch)
I am finally rewatching Word of Honour. In recent times this has been my favourite show. I have yet to read the book or Qi Ye, so please - no spoilers for those.
These are some things that I have noticed on my rewatch so far (6 episodes in):
Shen Shen is an idiot. An impulsive idiot. This is much more noticeable during a rewatch. So much mistrust could have been avoided if he had just calmed down a little bit and held his horses before jumping to fighting but hey, that is pretty on point for his character.
Wen Kexing IS a mother hen. I had gotten used to how the fandom memes on him for it and had forgotten just how cannon this is.
Cheng Ling has every right to be distrustful of his uncles. On my first rewatch this had really annoyed me but after noticing just how much the sworn brothers of the 5 Lake Alliance didn't trust each other, it makes a lot more sense.
This had shocked me on my first watch but just being reminded of how many times this show gave the figure to censorship was great! XD
Han Ying shows up in the Jianghu a lot earlier then I had remembered so that was cool.
Also just the first scene with the Scorpion King. Now, I have been his fan from his first appearance. However, after I got to know him and his motivations - he became one of my favourite antagonists (very morally grey, that one is).
I think that those are all of my observations so far. I can't wait to continue the show and continue sharing my thoughts here. This show very much is my current favourite C-Drama and has been my favourite for almost a year now.
