vincent’s philosophy of love based on his absence of taste is really interesting, like the fact he only kills Manon because he thinks utilizing her in the cooking he feeds to rody will physically infuse the dish with love….since rody adored her….. Rody not eating the food he was given prior having the impression all his previous leftovers felt self absorbed snd devoid of love which is ironic for a chef who’s main job is to provide for other people. Vince has never done that. the bistro itself doesn’t cater towards the customer with its premade menus and he chases a way to find that selfless kind of love especially after he sees how loud and passionately Rody cares for Manon, he tries to express it in the only way he physically knows how. we have one character whos caring to a fault, dedicating their entire existence to serving someone else and putting their priorities above all else and another character who has exclusively lived for themselves thus far and even while trying to express love through cooking can’t do it outside of his own interest and need to accomplish creating something that feels selfless and genuine.

Relationships between Rody and Vincent really captivate me, because they have so much flavour both at present and in perspective. And what I like the most is that they could learn from each other. Manon dumped Rody because he gives everything to his partner and leaves nothing to himself. Indeed, it's only reasonable to abandon self-sabotaging lifestyle, can't disagree, but is it that easy? To change attitude towards your own self at the snap of a finger? No. You know who you are and that's why you treat yourself that way. Rody serves a perfect example. We had no idea what happened or whether anything happened between these two for the entire game, because we're stuck to Rody's POV. Only in the end we learn truth and realise that Manon's words didn't reach him at all. He might have given a little thought to her message, but in the end "I was not trying hard enough" took over. And he'll be stuck in a cycle of self-massacre unless someone finally lend a hand. Everybody needs somebody, right? In Rody's case, person who is well suited for the role of this "somebody" is... Vincent. Why? Because Rody will be confused once he realises that his unconscious self-sabotage is simply not needed. Work to the bone to... do what exactly? Vince has enough money in his possession to afford almost anything he wants, that's for sure. Rody will begin to earn for himself and it's a good starting point. Perhaps one day he will be sitting on the couch, staring mindlessly at the money without any idea what to do next, when suddenly flooded for-god-know-how-many-days bathroom will join the lobby and make him take action. Without even knowing it, he will do something for himself. Yes, fixing a bathtub has that much significance. Moreover, role switch can be taken into account. What if Vince starts spending on Rody? He does care about his silly waiter after all. What does it take to just, I dunno, gift an umbrella? Nothing. But this act alone will shake Rody's usual perception. He is not giving, he's the one who receives. To put it short, circumstances will be conducive to stop his detrimental chase and make first simple on a surface yet crucial steps. As for Vince, everything is quite simple, it's a continuation of in-game theme, nothing really new. Vince is self-centered, it affects everything around him. Even his dishes taste like they are not meant for others. But when Rody walked into the restaurant, something changed. Not only he showed hints of caring, but also reflected on his cooking, foundation of his very life. Purely professional in it's core approach suddenly opened to such sentimental and absurd novelties as "love" and "soul". For the first time in a while (or maybe even in his entire life) he tried to cook for someone. In a twisted manner, but still- He was changing. Reshaping slowly. But encounter with something he never understood made him interpret it his own way. And that's why he needs a helping hand as well. Someone who can flourish changes inside of him and cook a proper meal out of them.

Okay you can fight me if you want, but I think Vincent would be good at skating. Let me explain, it has been confirmed (I believe) that he has worked several different serving jobs in his college years, so what if he worked at a place that required its employees to use skates? It's a bit of a stretch, but it was just a thought I had randomly.
