ok so i KNOW everyone is talking about the “i’ll get older but your lovers stay my age” but i swear i can’t help but focus on the first part of that line. on the “and i was never good at telling jokes…” because it reminds me so much of so many other lyrics that she writes, esp in the red album. but from the second i heard the full all too well, i’ve been thinking about the chorus of begin again, where she says that “i think it’s strange that you think i’m funny because he never did”. in begin again, it almost reads to me as her relearning that she can be funny, that she has value, that her self image isn’t just based on that one man (jake gynecologist messing everything up smh). anyway. these are my unsolicited thoughts on a line from all too well. tune in next week for more haha
