I tell the moon about you. The way she quietly hums in reply makes me think you’re one in the same.

My darling isn’t sunshine by any means. You wont find me comparing thee to a summers day.

No, my girl is a quiet winters night. Streetlights humming, illuminating the soft snow on the ground. A full moon shining down on the porch while you’re sitting outside smoking a cigarette to avoid being at home the same time as your mother.

She’s a breath of fresh air. Her hands lay the world to rest.

I know the girl I fell for was only the girl you needed to be to survive, I suppose you could say that about me as well. But as you show me the girl inside, I want to love every inch as much as I loved your shell. You’re never disappointing to me, my angel. You can show me your kindness, your softness, your heart, and I’ll love you regardless.

I haven’t written anything in awhile, my mind is drawing blanks more empty than the page. All I know is that I’m riddled with labyrinths of thoughts that cannot find their way to my pen. The topic is always you, my angel.

I love you so mercilessly I want nothing more than to take you apart like a clockwork toy and lay kisses on all of your gears. I want to know every flaw, every crack, every scratch in your design and love you anyways.

Your hands are as cold as winters ice, reminiscent of the quiet dark season when everything has laid to rest. I have a habit of taking your hands in mine only to heat them up, and deep down I’d hate to admit it but holding your hand makes my heart dance and sputter. The feeling is comparable to the summer sun kissing its rays on us, preaching words of hope of forgiveness.

I’ll be your warmth, and you’ll be my peace.
