i love my build.

he was an SDW Heroes Arsene Gundam X with a white and blue color scheme. i airbrushed primer and base coating, and then hand painted every detail on this gentleman thief.

I love this for two reasons:

Trans Gundam, obviously, which we love to see.

It’s kind of in Amuro’s colours? (Technically he’s got like three custom paintjobs, but it’s pretty close to the one on his Zeta Gundam 3A type).

Which is just a lovely combination, to be honest.

The sazabi land combat type from kondo's reimagination of 0093! Tons of fun getting the camo right for this guy, lots of gradients and freehand drawing

I was just going to reblog this with some pithy tags, but I figured I'd try to work out where this was so I could get the tags right. Turns out that Shizuoka (city in Japan to the South West of Tokyo) is a bit of a hub for the plastic scale model industry; Tamiya and others have their headquarters here, and it looks like it's also where Bandai manufacture all the Gundam kits!

To celebrate this, the city decided to promote itself as a 'model city', hence the giant sprues. There are also sprues for other things, like information boards, and post boxes...

It's whimsical and fun, but also a nice way to celebrate the industries of the city!

Slight tangent but related; I recently found out that there is fake food gunpla/model kits, some with individual pieces of (plastic) rice…

I lost the piece to the cockpit canopy and searched for it for hourssss. One must study the plastic gunpla’s properties at disappearing and never turning up again, I’m pretty sure this piece violated the laws of Euclidean space. It was by divine intervention that I managed to find it. Anyways now my Jesta is back to having a fully covered canopy and that means I get to have a photo shoot with it

figured I'd share my first gunpla kit

I got the high grade Aerial (specifically her season 1 design) about a month ago, and here she is!

building her was an experience (read: I hadn't built a gunpla before and I spent like 20 minutes freaking out about how good the articulation was), and definitely a fun one

I feel it's also worth noting that I'm not exactly into gundam typically (I watched Witch from Mercury mostly because lesbians), but I do have some experience with expensive plastic models lmao
