Anger was flowing through your body causing your hands to shake. Tears, that you were once fighting, were now streaming down your face with no intent of stopping.
Your fiancé, the man you’ve loved for six years, the one you’ve given your all to, even when you had nothing left, was a cheater—a fact that you couldn’t even begin to wrap your head around.
“How long, Hoseok?” You screamed.
He didn’t even have the decency to look at you—too engulfed in his own shame and embarrassment to face the person he once claimed to love the most.
It took everything in you not to break down in that moment. Just fall to the ground and let the earth drag you back into the nothingness you knew before you were born.
No! You thought. I’m not going to go down like this. You mentally told yourself as you stood your ground.
“Fuck, Hobi! How fucking long?” You screamed once more, banging on his chest with each word as you felt yourself cry into his shirt. Still, seeking his comfort, even when he was the cause of your pain.
“Y/N I-“ he began, unsure of whether or not he should hold you in his arms and tell you that everything was going to be ok like he’s done so many times before—but he couldn’t.
Nothing was ever going to be the same again, and he knew that he had no one else to blame but himself.
“God please, just make it stop.” You pleaded as you held the fabric of his shirt between your closed fists. Your forehead resting on his chest, just hoping and praying that this was all just some horrible nightmare and you were going to wake up soon.
“I’m so sorry, Y/N.” He said through a shaky voice. Hands still resting on either side of his body, and tears of his own streaming down his face as he watched the consequences of his own actions unfold before him.
It was in that moment that you realized that your relationship with Hoseok was truly over. He didn’t fight for you…he didn’t even try. Finally, you allowed yourself to break—letting go of his shirt and falling to the floor, onto your knees with your arms holding your own body so tightly, begging for the pain to stop.
He still couldn’t look at you, the act of seeing you break before him was too much for his fragile heart to bear. So, without another word, he grabbed his keys and he left. Leaving you to pick up the broken pieces of your heart on your own.
Silent Lover-Yoongi x reader

It was quiet at midnight as the city below you slept peacefully. You were stood so perfectly still on the balcony—wind blowing ever so slightly, gently caressing your hair out of your face. The moon shone directly on the man stood in front of you, as if to say that it’s ok and you can finally let go now.
He was always a silent lover, often opting to express his love through actions rather than words—so you couldn’t help but shed a tear or two as he knelt on one knee, verbally confessing his love for you as he clasped a velvet box which housed the most beautiful ring you’ve ever seen.
“I love you, Y/N…more than I’ve ever loved anyone, more than I’ve ever believed I could love someone. Will you please allow me to keep you for the rest of my life?”
“Yoongi, I-“ you began, but you felt your lips go numb. The breeze quickening and causing chills down your spine, as if to say that you don’t need to say anything other than “yes”…don’t be afraid, you can let go now.
Yes. You thought.
Just let go.
“Yes, Yoongi.” You felt the weight lift off of your shoulders. The final confirmation that he is yours and you are his, forever.
You allowed yourself to rest on your knees in front of him as you embraced him in your arms. Slowly inching your face towards his own until your lips finally met, as if they’d known that this is how it would be all along.
Just you, in a quiet city at midnight, with your silent lover.

You were drawn to him—like a moth to a flame, but there was something cold about him. He was not a cold person, no not at all, but the way his presence was devoid from your bed every morning left you feeling empty and cold.
He sent you a message in the late night hours asking if you’d be willing to talk. You couldn’t stop the pounding in your chest as he picked up the phone after the first ring. If he needed to talk to you this late, then it must’ve been important, and he must’ve been thinking about it for a while.
“Hi, Jimin. What’s wrong?” You asked him, nervously biting your nails and trying to calm your nerves.
It’s just a talk right? He probably just misses you right?
There was a silence on the other end—the only sound coming through was the slow, yet shakiness in his breath.
“We need to end this, Y/N.” His tired voice spoke.
He hasn’t been sleeping lately…you thought, he’s been crying.
“Jimin, what are you talking about? What do you mean we need to end this?” Your worst fears were coming true.
You’d known from the beginning that a relationship with the man you’ve loved so devoutly for the past three years was out of the question, but when he began showing the slightest bit of interest you couldn’t help the hopeful feelings that arose.
How foolish of you.
“Y/N, baby…I can’t do this anymore. I can’t keep tugging you along by a string while you wait patiently for me to love you. I can’t love you, Y/N.” His words burned like a knife in the back.
“I don’t understand, Jimin.” Your eyes began to sting with the abrupt realization that it was all a lie. Every single ounce of it was a lie.
“I tried, Y/N. I really did. I just hope that you don’t hate me for not being able to give you what you wanted.” He began to cry.
Hate him? The embarrassment and heartbreak you felt was enough to drive you six feet under, but you could never hate him, even if you tried…and lord knows that you’ve tried. Just as much as he tried to love you in the way that you’d dreamed he would.
Your head found solace in your hands as you began to let the heartache run freely through your veins. Completely forgetting that the man who was the source of your pain was still on the phone, sorrowfully listening to your misery.
This is how it was always going to be, but you couldn’t stop the regret from forming. You began to think, what is a moth without a flame?
