Jeon Jungkook has spent his whole life dreaming; it’s like the whole idea of imagining something so beyond oneself and still having the means to move towards that vision until it becomes reality is something that has never once fazed the boy. Consider it his ambitions or his knowledge of his skill or the fact that he is not known for making a wrong move ever in his life—but he’s developed this mask for acting as if he’s always had the right answers.
When Jungkook is young, he dreams of the Quidditch field with the tall grass that his feet will never touch once the whistle shrieks through the air, the ringed hoops that stand high above the grounds that make it impossible to miss when gazing upon the Hogwarts skyline, a famous mark in the school that highlights one of the most exciting aspects of attending Hogwarts. Not only does he dream of the field, but he dreams of the wind rushing in his ears and the screams of a crowd all around him. Above all, he dreams of the Golden Snitch. He dreams of being a Seeker.
The image of Kwon Jiyong playing as Seeker for the International Quidditch Team will forever remain engraved in his mind, his quick movements across the sports section of the Daily Prophet and Jungkook’s own memory from the time he saw his role model play at the Quidditch World Cup serving as the best motivation to drive Jungkook towards a singular thought: that he was going to play Quidditch.
He mounts his first broomstick when he is ten-years-old, gripping the handle of his brother’s Comet 260 and climbing several feet in just a few seconds as per the careful instructions. His natural talent of quick wit and quicker reflex earned the attention of his brother’s friendly Quidditch team, where he spends the summer practicing. Even during the fall, with his brother and his friendly Quidditch team whisked off to Hogwarts, Jungkook would practice whenever he could—using the hand-me-down old broomsticks once owned by his brother and the occasional throws of small objects made by his parents.
At his Hogwart’s letter arriving in the mail a year later, he leaves his hand-me-down broomsticks and the Quidditch roar in his heart within the comfort of his home. After all, first-years hardly ever make their House Quidditch team. That was in accordance to Jungkook’s own thoughts as he set the goal of undergoing his first year without attracting too much attention to himself and just focusing on doing well in his classes and studies.
However, it doesn’t take too long for Jungkook to realize that his aforementioned natural talent of quick wit and quicker reflexes would follow him straight into his first flying lesson—where something as simple as mounting his broomstick earns him the attention of Madam Hooch and simultaneously changes his life.

The regular nine a.m. call time finds Kim Taehyung at the forefront of the shop, gritting teeth together as he tries to balance the morning coffee along with his keys while trying to make sure his backpack won’t fall down his arm to disrupt his attempt. He barely manages the feat, somehow able to unlock and push open the front door before the coffee spills over. Both hands find their place again underneath the tray as he uses his hips to propel the door closed behind him.
Much like usual morning greetings, he doesn’t get one except for the sweet, floral fragranced scent that is as sharp and prominent as it is comforting and sweet. He’s been working here for a little more than three years, yet the sight and smell of flowers never fail to bring a smile to his face, never fails to help bring forth some good cheer to his day as he roams towards the back of the shop. He rests the coffee on the counter, slipping off his backpack to situate it in the back room, returning back to the floor to get things started before Kim Namjoon arrives. There isn’t much, just setting up the cashier and watering the plants and rearranging some bouquets that are due to be picked up first thing in the morning. Some adjustments here and there, giving the flowers a last minute spray to give it a fresh, dewy, appearance. He’s just setting down the second of five bouquets when the bell overhead jingles in correspondence to the arrival of someone new.

For months, the guys hadn’t got a clue about Taehyung’s pretty obvious feelings for you.
They had not noticed how shy he had been the first time you were introduced to them all after being hired as a part of the filming crew – that giving you the title of the youngest one among them all.
They hadn’t noticed how his usual loud tone would become lower and delicate when it was you he spoke to. Or how camera shy he would get whenever it was your camera that pointed in his direction.
They hadn’t noticed either how Taehyung’s high score on his favourite game had been dramatically beaten by Jimin, Joon and even Jin, for he had given up playing during his free time in between work just so he could go keep you company instead. You had a great relationship with your coworkers, but they were all older than you, so having someone more or less your age who was willing to talk to you was something you really appreciated.
You know what else they didn’t notice? How he would take your side on every little bickering you had with any of the guys. And he didn’t even know if it was for the sake of making you like him by agreeing to everything you said, or because he wanted to ‘protect you’ from his friends. Either way, there he always was, backing up your words.
What they did notice at some point, though, were the lovey dovey eyes he would stare at you with every single time you were not looking… or even when you were looking – it was something he had no control over anymore. Not only that, but also the way he would not pay attention to them, or to anything else for that matter, whenever the two of you were texting – him being too busy smiling like a little boy who had gotten exactly what he wanted for Christmas as he stared at the screen.
Once they realised that, everything else he had been doing over the past few months kind of clicked, but they said nothing. Yes, they were used to tease one another every time something like this happened, but it was also the first time they saw Taehyung so whipped like that, and they didn’t want to ruin it for him, so they just let him be.
Of course, there was only so much they could handle.
So, the moment Taehyung noticed you hadn’t gotten any breaks during the whole day as they had been shooting a music video since early in the morning, deciding to sneak out of the place as soon as it was Guk’s turn to shoot a solo scene and coming back a few minutes later with food and what he knew was your favourite drink, the guys couldn’t keep it to themselves anymore. Come on, how could they not say anything about that? And the fact that he sat down with you to keep you company while you ate, one moment reaching to wipe with his thumb some sauce staining the corner of your lips, and another one opening his mouth to take a bite of the food you were offering to feed him, wasn’t helping very much. The whole scene playing before their eyes looked very couply, if you asked them.
“Man, she’s got you wrapped around her finger” Jin was the first one to break as soon as Tae reached their side after having gained enough willpower to leave your side.
“No, I’m not?” he frowned. “I’m just being nice”.
“Yeah, because you’re whipped” Hoseok laughed.
Taehyung sighed. He knew he was, there wasn’t really any point on denying it.
“It doesn’t matter because she doesn’t like me back”.
“And that’s where you’re wrong, my dear Taehyung-ssi” Jimin placed his arm around his neck. “We can all tell she likes you a lot. The way she looks at you says it all”.
That did bring some hope to Taehyung – along with some red tint to his cheeks.
“Oh, he’s blushing now, how cute!” Yoongi cooed, poking the spot where his dimple would show up.
“So soft for his baby” Jimin imitated his hyung’s actions, poking the other side of his face.
“Stop!” Tae whined, pushing his friend’s hands away before he covered his face with his.
“Just ask her out, Taehyung-ah” Namjoon tried to give him a push, but the boy was too intimidated to make any kind of move on you – that if all he had already done did not count as that, of course.
“I think I’ll just stick to what I’m already doing”.
And so for the next month he kept on doing just that. The only difference being, besides the fact that you could no longer contain your smile whenever you saw him, that the rest of the staff started, too, noticing the little things Taehyung would do for you – like how he would blush without fail every time you complimented him on literally anything, or how he would drop anything he was doing just to go help you when he saw you struggling with something.
Just like the rest of the guys had done before, nobody said a word about it. Well, at least not until Tae’s feelings for you became so overwhelming he would keep on getting distracted by you.
That had been the case that day. They had a photoshoot for one of BTS’ sponsors and, no matter how many times the photographer told Taehyung to look serious, he could just not erase the shy smile on his lips, for you were right beside the man filming the whole thing for a BANGTAN BOMB that would be released later on. He had always been professional. He had always been confident. So why the hell couldn’t he just conceal his shyness and give the photographer what he wanted? It wasn’t like you were going to laugh at him for posing for the camera. But he just could not bring himself to do it anyway.
“Taehyung, look over here” the camera man called him out once again. However, when Tae’s eyes went to you instead, the guy sighed. “Okay, um…” he turned around to look at you, “Y/N, sweety, I will need you to leave”.
That made you take the camera away from your face, not being able to hide your concern after hearing those words. “What? What did I do?”
“You’re distracting Taehyung”.
Tae’s eyes almost popped out of their place, wanting nothing but disappear after feeling your baffled stare on him. This could not be happening.
“But I did nothing…”
“Not intentionally, but this is not the first time lover boy over here can’t seem to concentrate with you in the room”.
“No!” Taehyung protested immediately, “Y/N, don’t listen to him, I–”
“I have orders to film this though, I can’t just leave my job” you argued, dismissing both the boy’s hopeless explanation and the butterflies revolving inside your stomach.
“I’ll take over, Y/N-ssi” Guk interjected, taking the camera from your hands.
“But Guk-ah, you–”
“Come on” it was Yoongi’s turn to make his way into the conversation. Placing his arm over your shoulders, he guided both of you to the door, “let’s go for some coffee”.
“Hyung!” Taehyung shouted as he saw the two of you cross the studio’s door like that, sighing in defeat after he watched it close.
Right then, with a wave of mixed emotions invading his body, he felt like punching someone.
He wouldn’t say he was jealous, but that’s exactly what he was. And, besides, not only had he just been untactfully exposed about the way he felt for you, but also you had not given him any kind of sign about you returning his feelings. How was he supposed to look you in the eye after that? The cherry on top being you had been kicked out because of him. If he ever had any chance with you, he was sure he had lost it right then.
At least after that it was not hard for him to remain serious – more like annoyed at the guy with the camera in front of him who had no right to say what he did, but serious nonetheless.
It was over one hour later, Tae’s photoshoot having long ended, when you and Yoongi finally entered the room again, laughing like you had just had the time of your lives. ‘Let’s go for some coffee’, how could his hyung make it seem so easy to ask you out?
When the two of you locked eyes, you stopped in your tracks. Tae took that as his cue to make his way to you and Yoongi as his to leave the two of you alone.
“Hey, uh… sorry about earlier” he nervously scratched the back of his neck.
“It’s okay” you reassured him with a smile, earning one from him as well.
“You’re not mad?”
“Not at all” you shook your head. “It wasn’t that bad. I mean, I did get a break and Yoongi to treat me to coffee” you shyly laughed.
“Yoongi, huh” he bit the inside of his cheek. Why was he being so bitter about that even when he knew Yoongi was not interested in you like that? “You like hyung a lot, don’t you?” he added nevertheless, lowering his head.
“I do” you nodded your head, which did not help his situation at all, “he’s a good friend”.
“Friend” he repeated this time in a more cheerful way, at which you tried not to laugh.
“Yeah, friend” you said once more, “my heart is kind of taken by someone else”.
And as soon as hope had invaded his body, it had left.
“Oh” he breathily let out, “so you’re into someone else already…”
“Mhm” you got closer to him, “just this dork who got me kicked out of my own job today”.
His heart speeded up uncontrollably.
This time you could not control the small giggle that left your mouth as you saw his blank expression.
“You… like me?” he questioned, finally coming out of his trance because of the sound that left your lips.
“You are honestly so dense, Kim Taehyung” you shook your head in disbelief. To be fair, so were you, until Yoongi had cleared everything up for you over coffee and encouraged you to take your shot; but there was no way you were telling him that. “Literally everyone could tell. I’m kind of relieved it was you who was left in the spotlight today and not me, I was counting on my coworkers to slip up anytime now”.
“Oh, so you’re glad I am the one who got to be embarrassed in front of everyone?” he playfully glared at you.
“I am, actually” you confirmed, which earned a whine from him.
“It’s not funny. Not only did my confession get taken away from me but I also thought you had rejected me in front of everyone” he pouted.
“Come on, it couldn’t have been that bad” you teased.
“I thought I would die” he emphasized the last word.
Laughing under your breath, you stood up on your tiptoes so you could press a long, tender kiss to his cheek – ignoring the sound of awe that had collectively left the mouths of the rest of the people in the room, which had reminded you both you were not alone.
“I would never reject you” you confessed in a softer voice, not taking your eyes away from his. His lips broke into another shy smile, that one you had grown so fond of. “You’re the cutest” you gushed, your own cheeks turning pink – although they didn’t even compare to his.
“Don't” he pleaded as he threw his head back, trying to regain his composture. “I can be pretty hot too, you know?” he raised one of his eyebrows, for many reasons not wanting to be seen just as ‘cute’ in your eyes because of his undeniable soft spot for you.
You bit your lower lip. “Oh, I do know that” you sincerely stated, gently pushing back the hair covering his forehead, allowing you to appreciate his eyebrows.
That was enough for his confidence to boost and a smug smile to curve up his lips. “So…” he slowly got closer to you, “would you let me take you out on a date sometime?”
“Mm…“ you hummed as you played it cool like you were deep in thought, taking another step towards him. "Do I get to go out with cute Taehyung or hot Taehyung?” you cheekily inquired, cocking one of your eyebrows.
He shrugged, tucking a strand of hair behind your ear. “Which one do you like the most?”
“Trick question” you smiled, “I like all of you, duality included”.

“Pull over. Now.”
“What?” Jeongguk is visibly confused. He looks at you quickly, trying to maintain his focus on the road, or at least feigning like he is focused on the road.
“Your leg. You’re bouncing it way too much. While driving. It’s getting on my nerves. Stop the car, I’m driving now,” He still looks dumbfounded. Of course he’s not aware of the way his anxiety is getting the best of him. But you glare at him and he can’t do nothing but oblige.
He stops the car on the next gas station, which luckily is not too far away, and you take the opportunity to convince Jeongguk to, at least, get something to eat before. You end up sitting on a little coffee shop next to the gas station, waiting while he buys both of you a cup of coffee and some donuts. He has his back turned to you, giving you the chance to observe quietly and attentively all his movements.
“You’re so nervous,” you assert him, “Like, literally, I’ve never seen you this anxious. What’s wrong?”
He doesn't even try to hide it when he sighs deeply, “Are you really asking me what’s wrong? Y/n, I’m about to meet your family. Like, we are halfway to your hometown. How could I possibly not be nervous?”
You laugh at his pained face. He’s literally having the worst time of his life.
“Guggie, you already know my family. Like, my mom has called you more than me in this past month. What are you nervous about?”
He looks at you exasperated.
“Yeah, phone calls are easy. And have you, perhaps, seen your brothers? Because there are four of them and they are pretty much gigantic. And scary. And one of them has already threatened to break my spine if I did ever hurt you. Twice,” he talks way too quickly while fidgeting with his rings, and you can’t help but laugh. He glares at you, “I don’t find this particularly funny. I am way too shy for this. Can we just, I don’t know, go home and do a Skype meeting or something? Discord channel, maybe?”
Now you are completely throwing your head back in a fit of laughing. “How can you be this cute? Oh my god,” you can’t help but take his hand in yours, making his fingers stop. You kiss the pad of his fingers and his eyes soften, showing how he’s melting into putty in your arms as his worries slowly fade away. “My brothers are gonna absolutely love you. You’re gonna be like his little bro, the long lost fifth male of the house. Hell, I genuinely think my family is gonna love you more than they love me. Mainly because they know how I feel about you.”
Now he laughs and you smile again at the sight of his bunny teeth and his crinkly shiny eyes.
“Are you serious? I mean, I’m dating like, the princess of the house. Your mom absolutely adores you and your brothers would allegedly kill for you. This is like a super cliché romcom, and we already know how that usually goes. I just want to fit in,” he sounds worried still, but not as nervous as before. You get up and pull his arm, making him stand up too. Throwing your arms around his neck, you kiss him deeply and lovingly right before guiding him back to the car.
“You will, baby. I’ll make sure of that,” you reassure him again, knowing that your words could calm him at least a bit. “Now give me the car keys, I’m definitely driving.”

Yet, with his friends Jimin and Taehyung pestering him about renting a girlfriend, with suggestions of “Hey, Jungkookie, this could help you get over your fear of talking to girls!” or “Wow, finally! A company that caters specifically to Jungkook!”, he had finally caved, and decided to rent a date – just to prove that it was a stupid idea.
