**Let me protect you**

The sound of their blades making contact seemed louder in the quiet forest; as they remained in a blocked formation, they stared at one another, a small smile appearing at the corners of their lips. A soft breeze flew past them before they stood apart.

"You're getting better at blocking my strikes."

"Come on, you're going easy on me."

"I'm not."

"Look into my eyes and say that again."

He stared at her big eyes only briefly before blushing and looking away.

"Okay," he answered still keeping his gaze down. "But I didn't want to get too rough on you."

"Kohaku....if I'm going to fight by your side I need to practice." Rin walked up to him and touched his arm. "You promised to teach me."

"I know and I will." He touched her hand and smiled back. "It's getting late."

They walked side by side in silence; Rin turned to face him. The scar on the bridge of his nose caught her eye as always; she stopped and he did the same facing her.

"Are you alright?" He asked with concern.

"You're....you're afraid something might happen to me...aren't you?"

"What?"

"Because if I were to..."

"Stop....please Rin."

She took his hands into hers and held them close to her chest; she then touched his face and his silence said it all.

"You're a skilled demon slayer Kohaku."

"Even the most skilled can...." He ran his hand across her cheek. "I don't....I can't lose you; not when I just got you back."

"Then teach me properly; teach me all you know. I know you're afraid, but that's all the more reason to."

"Rin," he started softly.

"People....die Kohaku; this is a fact we cannot escape from. But....if we have the skills to protect ourselves then we must do what we can; I know you will protect me with all you have and I want to do the same for you....I love you."

Her words broke deep within his soul; he brought her closer to him and they kissed among the leaves. He whispered in her ear how much he loved her, how he wanted to protect her, all the while tears falling down his cheeks onto hers.

The following evening, Kohaku gave Rin her own demon slayer uniform; they went back into the forest where he began her training once more.

When they returned to the village, Rin excitedly recited to Kagome all that she learned; Kohaku watched with pride, his heart swelling with love for her and fear. She could be the best demon slayer/priestess in feudal Japan; however, he knew if she were to die....she would not come back.

"Rin....my beloved...I will protect you."

Technically, the anime version of Inuyasha was incomplete, but thankfully the Final Act came out to complete it (although a few arcs were skipped). But then they tried to add more but it resulted being a cheap badly written crap.

Yashahime truly is garbage level fanfiction and there’s no point wasting any time on it when there’s so many talented folks out there writing absolute classics that actually treat the original characters with love and respect.

So on one hand I've accepted Rin is the mom in yashahime, but a major part of my brain keeps saying, it makes no sense. Even with the shit storytelling going on, Rin doesn't fit as the mom. It's weird. I'm not hanging around for a flip, but without episode 15, Rin just isn't the mom

I totally understand! In fact, I think this is precisely why some people have so much trouble accepting ʀɪɴ as the mother.

It's not just because it doesn't make sense in the light of Inuyasha as a series. It''s because at the very least it was supposed to make sense in ʏᴀsʜᴀʜɪᴍᴇ. And it still doesn't. From a storytelling point of view, from a marketing point of view... It. Doesn't. Make. Sense.

We had the big revelation happening in an event that took place before the episode aired. We had producers needing to explain crucial plot points of the story in interviews that less than half of their audience will see. We had characters designs that only work if ʀɪɴ isn't the mother. We had sᴇssʀɪɴ as a pairing that barely interacted in one of the most emotional moments a couple can face together. We had months of silence and reluctance to refer to her as the mother. We had evidence and more evidence o how young she was.

It's only natural that we would still refuse to believe that Sunrise would go there. Much less in the way it did. But ʀɪɴ being the mother and this decision not making any sense whatsoever are not mutual exclusive.

It doesn't make sense for her to be the mother, yet she is. It doesn't make sense for her to be the one stuck inside that three, yet she is. It doesn't make sense for Inuyasha and Kagome to be do easily sealed away, yet they were. It doesn't make sense for their friends and family not to give a crap about Moroha or even know that she is their daughter, yet it happened.

The way I see it, this was the only way they found to keep both sides invested: putting sᴇssʀɪɴ in evidence to cater to the ships and adding misleading little clues to keep antis believing in a flip. Everyone thought they were right and continued to watch it, but those efforts seriously damaged the writing of the show.

She might not be the mom outside of episode 15, but episode 15 was never debunked. To do so would involve a level of writing far superior than what ʏᴀsʜᴀʜɪᴍᴇ has shown us so far. In fact, from where I'm standing, it's way more plausible that the next episodes will reiterate episode 15, since there's a good chance season two would be the last.

If a plot twist happens, I'll never be more happy about being wrong. But right now I just can't see it. In any case, ʀɪɴ being the mother in ʏᴀsʜᴀʜɪᴍᴇ doesn't make her the mother anywhere else, the same way Kagura being sᴇssʜᴏᴍᴀʀᴜ's loving wife in fanfiction doesn't make her his loving wife anywhere else.

So far all the merch from Taiwanese and Chinese events show child Rin 🙃 Either admit your ship doesn’t exist or it’s a pedo ship, SessRinners. Your call.

Cause who in the right mind wants to watch a series that just cares about their pedoship and then proceeds to drag, rewrite and destroy what's left of the original show you loved

And it can hardly be how Inuyasha “officially” continues, given all the absurdities and inconsistencies it has.

There’s nothing worse than watching Kagura and Sesshomaru moments and knowing that it’s all ruined because of trashahime :(

P.S. I just watched the season 2 trailer and I can’t say I’m surprised by their portrayal of that disgusting ship, but it still hurts. I was praying for a switch but I guess it’s not gonna happen. I’m at least glad to know Rumiko ships Sesskagu, which is thankfully all that matters.
