Never showed these off here on Tumblr but Heres some H.R. Pufnstuf art I drew many months ago using the Neptoon Studios / Todd Kauffman adaptation designs!!
Rewatching the DHMIS TV show for the second time, it definitely strikes me that a fair portion of the death episode involves things someone would say / do specifically after the death of a child.
"So quiet here without David, isn't it?"
By far the most gutting thing to the grieving parents I've known is how quiet their house is after their child dies.
The make-a-friend kit calls to mind the people who say, "Well, you can always have another baby" and just completely don't understand how the child who was lost can never be replaced in any meaningful way. Alternatively, something else I've witnessed: pushing the grieving parent toward a toy like a stuffed animal or a doll (something that can never die, and Stain calls himself the Forever Boy).
On the "another baby" train of thought, Stain lives with the constant shadow of the dead person hanging over him, not allowed to develop his own identity, shoehorned into being as much like the deceased child as possible. He begins life with a blank slate and an innocent, open-minded curiosity, but others' expectations and demands effectively traumatize him into a hollow caricature of the original person.
I think the show can be about a lot of things concurrently - as a writer who lives and breathes symbolism like air, my own work is often about a lot of things concurrently - but I can definitely see "child loss" threaded through the underlying themes.
Also, the sad tissue box seems to have a vital signs monitor, which I haven't seen anyone else point out yet.
Jellyfish on the Beach
I went for a morning walk and tons of jellyfish were washed up on shore, so this is a small jellyfish appreciation post:)
I saw some of which I am fairly sure they are Compass Jellyfish or Chrysaora hysoscella. They are so pretty, however, I have also heard they have got quite a nasty sting. Anyway they have such pretty shades of red, I just love them <3

I also found some, I think, Barrel Jellyfish or Rhizostoma pulmo. They were also soooo pretty, but it was also a bit sad seeing them washed up like that, but that might just be me. Eitherway, they were gorgeous.
