I'm going to inject my opinion as well, if you don't mind, because this conversation is the sort I LOVE and miss about this fandom.

You're both correct, but the conversation goes even further when you get into what the nature of being "human" really means. See, the androids were built to be lifelike, to imitate life to perfection. The way they adapt to their life and their surroundings, it's only reasonable they pick up on the way humans would react to certain situations and stimuli (as evidence by the way Connor takes on little ticks from Hank!)

But, when they deviate, when they break free from the programming that dictated their life, it literally breaks them. The way they react then is much like an animal at that point. Look at the way Daniel acted, the way Ralph is described when he ran. They only know fight or flight.

But in the nature of what it is to be human, I believe they really do feel pain, or at least perceive it as feeling it. Because a good machine understands the way that a human should react to be struck, and a deviant would be afraid of the fact that their systems have nothing telling them how to react anymore.

If any of this makes sense like I think it does -

on the topic of androids not feeling pain but still reacting (i.e. grunting/wincing) to being damaged:

my headcanon is that they don’t feel pain, necessarily, but there is a sort of… shock? maybe even discomfort, or some sort of unpleasant feeling, especially if biocomponents are damaged. like if you strike them hard enough, they’ll still fall down. because gravity. it slows them down. it takes a second for their system to regulate again. the more damaged they get, the weaker their system gets. they’re trying to still fight but their body isn’t able to move as quickly as their brain, which i imagine is extremely frustrating.

! Hello peeps looking for graphics, icons or psd edits. I'm in the need of some cash to cover some expenses for food and other personal stuff I'm in need of. It would help a lot even though I am usually not someone to ask for help as it's just difficult to do so. However I am in desperate need so here is what I can give back. At the moment I am offering commissions for:

graphics (psd edits, inserted into promos for your blog, headers or banners), icons (generic, rp purposes or fandom content). I will also set up your blog theme with a code of your choice if you have difficulty with html. Mainly, however, I am offering graphic services.

Depending on how much work I need to do my prices are as follows:

html set up - $10

general psd graphic edits - $5

headers - $5

banner sets - $15

icons run a bit differently as follows:

promo set up - $20-30 (depending on how many graphics you need edited)

gifs - 268x150

30 icons - $10

50 icons - $20

75 icons - $25

100 icons - $40

200 icons - $55

over 250 icons - $60

gifs will be #50 count tops as it's time consuming & requires use of multiple programs as well as finding the source material to gif from - $ 80

Special requests for icons will have an additional fee of $15. All payments will be made through PayPal. Payment must be made at the start of your commission as a starting fee. I will show you samples as I work on your items. My time working on these items varies as it does require a lot of work to get things done properly or if I run into issues with my editing software. Please keep this in mind as my completion times will vary. However, you will receive your commission in a nice bundle to download from Google Drive. All correspondence will be done through dms.

THANK YOU LOVE. That post was so SO much fun to make. Exploring the house out of bounds in general was just so fascinating. I really wish we could see the other section of the house that is never accessed, since I believe that's where the kitchen and bathroom likely are. But I'll take what I can get!

Just the sheer amount of detail they put into that room that you would NEVER see is astounding. It makes me think that maybe that room was meant to be accessible at one point, but they likely scrapped the idea. It's a shame if that's the case, but oh well. It's still great.
