Flaws to Add to Characters

So, are you searching on how to make your character a little bit less perfect without giving them too many extreme deficiencies? Well, I have a few examples, and some of you guys might've not even realized that they're flaws!

Inability to get over the past - This doesn't have to be as serious as people think! Maybe the past just influenced your character in a way that affects his modern life!

Self-reliance - This doesn't sound like a flaw, doesn't it? Well, in some cases, it could be an issue a character struggles to overcome, and other times, it can actually be a part of a character's development! However, the act of never accepting help from someone is most definitely a shortcoming.

Apathy - I think that this is pretty self-explanatory. Over-passionate people are dangerous, but worse than that are people who don't care enough.

Over-passionate - It's still a flaw, guys! Having too much passion for one thing to the point where nothing else matters is harmful to your character.

Vengeful - This is also rather clear, I don't think I need to further explain this.

Detached - Almost like self-reliance, but to a more severe degree, where they don't see the need for not only anyone's help, but for anyone in general.

Possessiveness - If a character is too possessive towards another character, it could harm the latter's mental health and ruin any relationship between the two.

Manipulative - I hope that no one needs me to explain this!

Self-destructive - Honestly, this has a pretty wide range of examples, it could go from neglecting oneself to actual self-harm. Either way, it's definitely not healthy for a character.

Superiority/God complex - The problem is in the name: a character with these complexes simply believes that they are better than everyone else. It's similar to arrogance, but not quite the same.

Here you go! Ten flaws that you can incorporate in your characters!

Even weirder that Raven keeps the emblem after leaving the inner circle.

the fact that raven and qrow's emblems are so tied to ozpin makes me wonder when they actually like, made them, and how deep that tie is because—

okay. gears and clock -> obviously inspired by ozpin. together with the wings, they form two eyes -> raven and qrow were ozpin's spies, his eyes where he could not be; "the last eye is blinded..." salem knows that, too.

here's the thing: before, i thought that that was it, essentially. their emblems forming eyes, the inner part, that's "all" that they took from ozpin; the wing itself is something from them.

BUT. if them being spies is already part of it... the wing part could be from ozpin giving them shapeshifting, which would mean that there's.. nothing really in their emblems that is just them; the only difference, the only part that implies a choice made by each of them, is the inner part: a clock or a gear.

yet, it's still tied to ozpin.

emblems haven't been given the same kind of This Is A Big Deal!! as weapons are—"they're extensions of ourselves! they're a part of us!"—but they're still a way to identify someone, their property, etc. like... it's about one's identity.

what does it say about raven and qrow, about their past before beacon, before meeting ozpin, when their emblems are all him?

The scene where Homura mercy-kills Madoka in one of her timelines is artistic perfection for a lot of reasons, but the way the two of them express different philosophies in it drives me insane with how amazing it is.

Faced with becoming a Witch, Homura tells Madoka that they should become monsters together and destroy the world until nothing bad or sad remains. But Madoka uses her very last Grief Seed to prevent Homura's transformation, telling her that even though there are a lot of awful things in the world, there's so much worth protecting too.

Madoka has seen the best the world has to offer and wants to sacrifice herself to protect it. Homura has seen the worst and her main priority is protecting the one person who gave her hope and warmth, even if that screws over other people. I fucking love these two so much.

Some fanart for @royalrebelpropaganda ‘s “I place my head between my knees (do you ever have nights like these)” on Ao3! It was such a good piece of work, quite possibly my favorite eah fanfic I’ve read so far that I had to draw a little piece based on it😭💓

It didn’t exactly come out how I wanted it to, specifically the windows. They’re supposed to be enchanted windows so you can see landscape (or whatever you want to see really) despite the fact that the dorm’s bathroom has no way to see the outside world. She likes to look out above the trees to blue skies above, and finds it a great source of natural light and vitamin D (whether or not she’ll admit it, she prefers sunny says to stormy skies despite anything she says).
