Zuko: Sokka, why do we have six dogs in the palace?
Sokka: They're golden retrievers, bro. They retrieve gold. I did this for us
Hot take!
The Netflix adaptation of Avatar the Last Airbender was good actually!!!!
It’s not a one to one replica. It’s its own thing. It hits all the important story beats and (in my opinion) improves on many of the characters characterizations.
It’s ok to love both the original and the adaptations. I recommend anyone basing their decision of this show solely on the super-fans of the internet to do yourself a favor and give it a shot anyway.
It’s very clear to me that a lot of people gave it their all in making this show. The actors and actresses knocked it out of that park. The writing was decent and cohesive, and I’d be remiss to not give the effects team their due.
Please stop tearing these wonderful works down without first giving them a chance.

Damian: These are my older brothers
Jon: Hi
The three brothers: Hey
Damian: Oh, you will love Titus
Jon: Oh, he and Krypto can play along
Damian: Of course
*They walk out of the living room*
Jason: No fucking way is that Damian
Tim: *Shrugs* Maybe Jon actually made him human
Dick: I have to agree with Jason, he referred to us as 'brothers' and not 'Bruce's three disappointments'
