oH my god, I forgot this AU existed (Dec 2022)

These were some concept sketches for an au I never named, but ig I called it lab au?

CONCEPT:

The concept was that there was orphans that were experimented on to test biological abilities. Basically, these test subjects have never seen outside of the labs they reside in.

Two of those test subjects included Ben [primarily known as #A67B, not given a name until later] and Senpai [#E35S]. Pico is a member of an organization called the AEI, which unfortunately, I don't remember what it stands for? But the gist of it was that it was an organization dedicated to fight for human rights, and free captives in these types of facilities - regardless of law.

Pico was given the role of "extractor" for the operation at Ben/Senpai's facility and would escort any captives he could while his team distracted the guards/staff.

He manages to get out with Ben only, and gets lost in the surrounding wilderness. In the meantime, he tries to communicate with Ben, who is very foreign to his world acting almost alienlike, asking questions like "what is so and so?"

I forget the exact events after, but I recall Ben showing his powers to Pico, that included:

Manifesting semi-translucent orbs, appearing almost like glass, but feel more like silicone.

Glowing orbs with antigravitational properties

Large bubble to use as a shield, but works more like a hamster wheel (like bubbles in steven universe)

On the same day, Senpai is asked by the staff to hunt down and retrieve Ben, and in return they will give him more freedom in the facility since Senpai is so advanced in his field of research. He agrees, and uses a tracking device to follow Ben's shock collar which is still on at this point of time. Pico doesn't have the means to remove it yet.

Sen catches up to them, still lost and unrescued. Unlike Ben, his powers consist more around rectangular, sharp shapes:

Manifesting semi-translucent rectangular walls

Fully dimensional 3d boxes

Sharp jagged triangles that work as spikes

Platforms that stay firmly in the air wherever he wants them positioned

The three have a scuffle, and the two struggle to fight back Sen. Pico uses reasoning and explains that the lab would in no way give him the freedom he wants because he's too valuable to them. Sen calls him a liar, but soon realized that this will be the case.

The AEI crew finally find the three and give Pico the means to remove both of this collars and chucking them out in the wilderness before escaping.

All I 'member so far, everything else was just small rp tid bits that aren't important to the story. Like Ben/Pico's relationship blossoming in fluff and stuff :]

So far, the story for Shade:

His partner Iggy died in a car accident, leaving Sherry unscathed and alone. After time, he spirals into depression that won't go away.

Being desperate, he does some digging to find anything that could possibly bring his beloved back to him. That's when he finds a posting on some back alley website about "bringing people back to life." He course with no other options, contacts the person, then meeting them irl. He shows him an cursed mirror that, with the right ritual, will summon a demon that will bring the dead back.

Shade takes it home and pulls through, summoning a large bulky demon. He begs it to help him, and the demon uses its magic, seeminly to help Shade- But it's not. It instead traps him in the mirror it was once trapped itself, laughing at Shade's misfortune. He tries to break the mirror from the inside, but when he hits it with his fist, it only damages his own body. Shade's body as fragile as the very same glass.

TIMESKIP: Sherry is tour of sorts, where he walks through a hall of mirrors. Enthralled, he stays behind the group to take in the sight. His enchantment soon leaves when someone grabs his arm. It's a.. strange twisted version of themselves. Shade is interested in this doppelganger and asks him questions, verifying that they are one in the same - including their love interest by a similar name.

Jealous of this, Shade attempts to choke Sherry out to get him out of the equation. He mocks him, admitting to him that if he lost his Iris, he would be just as helpless as he is now.

Sherry makes an attempt to punch Shade, but he laughs in his face. Then after, pushes him into the mirror, switching places. Shade then uses his ability to shapeshift to make a perfect replica of Sherry. He then leaves to go find Iris. Iris, not knowing what happened, feels everything is normal (but slightly off if anything). The only way he would see Shade's true form is if his reflection is caught in front of a mirror or other reflective surface. (Say, a shiny toaster?)

At the hall of mirrors, Sherry is desperately banging on the mirror to escape, but to no avail. The only thing in the dark mirror-y void is himself and.. A necklace? It almost looks like the kind that Iris would wear. He holds it in his hands to try to get some kind of comfort in the loneliness. Suddenly, a while vibrant ghostly figure appears next to him. It holds it's hand on the mirror, and Sherry not knowing what to think of it, does the same as the figure.

Everything glows white, and Sherry suddenly can pass through. He looks back to thank the figure, but it's now gone. He looks down at the necklace he's still holding, and puts it into his pocket. Then heads back to his house, however possibly.

Iris hears a knock at a door and is.. shocked. There's another exactly replica of his boyfriend at the door. He's crying and trying to explain and convince him that he's the real Sherry. The fake Sherry joins the scene, and begins a "whos, who" discussion. But they act so similarly, it's hard to tell.

Iris tells the Sherry who came at the door to leave and that he'll have to think this situation through. Sherry is upset their getting kicked out of their own home, but respects his decision. But before they're able to leave, Iris whispers to them that they think they're the real one since they didn't argue with him to leave. Sherry delighted, continues to explain the situation, and asks what they should do about the fake.

But Shade overhears this and is outraged. He begins to attack Sherry, and Iris manages to break them up, but loses track on who was who. Sherry uses the same reasoning as before and suggests she just "leave." Iris confirms this, and figures it out. He and Sherry stand together to fight the foe.

But instead of continuing to fight, Shade instead breaks down at his failure. Sherry, empathetic to the situation, sits down with them and comforts him.

Iris is unsure of the situation, and looks at a necklace that's on the floor. It likely fell out of Sherry's pocket during their fight. He looks back at the two to see a white ghostly figure sit behind Shade. It looks up at him for a moment, and Iris is stunned at it's sudden appearance. It then looks away, back to Shade, with a hand Shade's back.

Sherry agrees to allow Shade to stay with them at their house, as long as they don't shapeshift into themselves anymore.

I forgot I had this in my files- It was a vs meme thing I was working on, but never finished because I didn't make the references for 1, 3, 5, 6, 7, or 15.

Thought I'd post anyway even if it won't be finished any time soon
