The door squeaked as you pushed it open. The steam slipped through the cracks, dissolving in the air. Phone in hand, you stopped the song playing, throwing the device on your bed. It bounced and hit the pillow.
It was past two in the morning. Your body was aching in exhaustion, but your brain was still awake.
Aside from the late time, your parents were gone to work, both taking night shifts so the house was quiet. You’re left home alone in the house’s silence.
