Free Palestine BDS BOYCOTT LIST "No Thanks" APP

Free Palestine BDS BOYCOTT LIST "No Thanks" APP

Let me put yall on something real quick! This app lets you scan and search products to see if they are on the BDS boycott list or not!

This is what it looks like in the app store.

Free Palestine BDS BOYCOTT LIST "No Thanks" APP

When you open the app you will be given this screen where you can search for brands and products.

After scanning the barcode or searching for a brand you will be shown one of two popups.

The app will tell you if the product or brand is part of the boycott. For this example I used Kraft and Snyder's.

The app also has a link to donate directly to Palestinian organizations at the bottom of these screens as well as further information about the BDS Boycott.

Please share this resource and use it to double check any purchases.

I know many of us are taking part in a massive strike and are trying to stop/limit spending as much as possible, but this is a great resource to double check where the money you spend on necessities goes.

Repost of Instagram post by alessandra_sanguinetti:

“In 2004 I worked as an intern in Newsweek and had to go through the wires coming in from the Middle East.

The Iraq war was raging. Israel was committing its routine violations and killings.

The images were devastating and unequivocally condemning of both the USA and Israel, but I remember the editors would reject all my picks and demand images of burnt cars or vague images of destruction.

So I brought a hard drive and collected everything they didn't publish.

It was my first live glimpse of the lack of ethics or integrity in most US media.

Not the journalists on the ground, but of the senior editors making the calls - in their self important glass cubicles.

And no, to the cynics out there..it's not all too complicated to discuss on social media.

Social media is the only reason we know what's happening in Palestine.

And the only reason mainstream news has to keep up and sprinkle some actual news now and then.

Meanwhile we are seeing much less footage coming out of Gaza - Israel has been killing off all the journalists.

This is terrifying.”

Poly/need HC: they express their love for each other via different love languages.

Ichika is very much a words of affirmation person. She shows her love by using her words, telling her girlfriends she's proud of them. That she loves them. That they're doing a good job. She's the one who'll shower them with praises. She's the one who says "I love you" the most.

Saki is a gift giver. She loves giving her girlfriends gifts she knows they'll like. Whether it's bought or homemade, she makes sure it's something they'll enjoy. From matching items to individual ones that scream the specific person's name (like a Miku figure for Ichika or a limited Phenny set with Shiho specifically in mind or finding a café that sells apple pies so she can get one for Honami or even possibly plan a one-on-one date with her).

Shiho shows her love via quality time. She's not big into pda or physical affection in general, it's seen as a big thing by the other three if she's the one who initiates contact. But she just likes being with everyone. There's no need to talk, just being together is enough. She's the silent lover who will sit with any of her girlfriends and just relax. They can just exist together for a moment.

Honami uses acts of service to show her love. She likes doing things for the people she loves. She's the one who'll take care of her partners, the one who will help them if they need it. She'll prepare meals and do chores for them, always with the thought of "I helped relieve them of at least one chore." She knows her limits and her girlfriends also know when to step in if she's doing too much.

THIS IS SO REAL they love each other so much and I don't have much to add on but THE SILLY SKRUNGLIES!!!

I may be trying to write romance in the future as someone who’s never fallen in love before, they’d BETTER come out a little aspec.

something they don’t tell you about being autistic is that every character you write WILL end up autistic/autistic-coded whether you like it or not

Radio Free Monday

Good morning everyone, and welcome to Radio Free Monday!

Ways to Give:

cluegirl linked to a fundraiser for deliriumcrow, who lost nearly everything in a house fire two years ago, and was then robbed by the contractor hired to repair the house. They are currently paying a mortgage on a home that is facing condemnation if they can't raise the money for a new contractor; you can read more and reblog here or support the fundraiser here.

savrenim is the sole breadwinner for their disabled partner and two friends living with them; they have had to deal with several financial setbacks including loss of owed back pay, moving and home repair costs, and vet bills; they are fundraising to cover moving costs and to be prepared for when payments come due on a loan they had to take to cover expenses. You can read more and reblog here or give via ko-fi here.

Nik is raising funds for a cross-country move from Oregon to West Virginia, in hopes they can find a home to thrive in after escaping an abusive upbringing; you can read more and support the fundraiser here.

Recurring Needs:

Anon linked to a fundraiser for a friend whose family has not had a working furnace since November; they've been using space heaters to keep warm but January in Chicago has been brutal and the space heaters aren't sufficient. With vulnerable family members including elderly relatives and children in the home, they need to raise $6K to get the furnace replaced. You can read more and support the fundraiser here.

Anon linked to karla-hoshi or Hoshi on TikTok, who is raising funds for cancer treatment for her cat Naku; they caught the cancer early and hope that he can survive it, but can't continue treatment without funding. You can read more and support the fundraiser here, as well as find links to her updates on tiktok.

chingaderita's partner's family house recently caught fire and completely burned, killing his grandmother and causing extensive property loss; he has also recently lost his job due to the fire, and a number of family members have since become ill. They're raising funds to keep food on the table, to try and get a supply of water to keep clean and do laundry, and for various bills until a job opportunity in March comes available. You can read more, reblog, and support the fundraiser here.

And this has been Radio Free Monday! Thank you for your time. You can post items for my attention at the Radio Free Monday submissions form. If you're new to fundraising, you may want to check out my guide to fundraising here.

looking at (vetted) gofundmes for people trying to escape palestine and i don't know how many of you actually click on the gofundme links you reblog but i would like to point out, for what it's worth, just how amazing it is that so many have raised so much money. it may overall feel like a drop in the ocean but the fact that several gofundmes have raised tens of thousands of dollars is amazing. it is so expensive to leave gaza right now, and people still need money after they escape. but regardless of what propaganda the US, UK, canada, and other western nations are trying to pump out, people across the world are doing what they can to help these people survive. many of them are still very far from their goals (like this one and this one and this one) and some of them are very close to high goals (like this one), and some of them have reached almost double their original goal.

and that's not even addressing direct aid or organizations that take continuous donations for distribution of food, menstrual products, etc. the PCRF has raised $16,000,000 of their target goal of $20,000,000 to fund current aid and long-term relief efforts in gaza. ANERA's febuary 13th update discusses the material ways they helped palestinians today:

Looking At (vetted) Gofundmes For People Trying To Escape Palestine And I Don't Know How Many Of You

(ANERA donate link)

my point is, it often feels like the world is turning a blind eye to palestine. but i would like to point out that there is an important difference between "the world" and "western political leaders and media narratives". a breathtaking amount of real people, the people who make up the world, are trying to help. in the face of israel attempting to commit genocide, the world is saying No. These people deserve to live. and literally sending millions of dollars internationally, through the internet connection that israel has desperately been trying to destroy.

it may not feel like it matters in the grand scheme of things. but to the people who get fresh clothes, or a hot meal, or blankets, or the kids who get new toys, or to the people who are able to bring their families to safety, it matters to them. go make someone's day better. i've linked so many options with ways to do that.
