Joe Keery Accidentally Wearing His Sisters Jeans To School, And Regularly Falling Asleep In The Shower,
Joe Keery accidentally wearing his sister’s jeans to school, and regularly falling asleep in the shower, making him and his younger siblings late to class 100% tracks. The boy would have absolutely done that sort of thing, and the grown man probably still does. Look at him.

a small angsty Dwight in shining armor blurb | 474 words
“What is it Gretta?” His question held no aggression, but his eyes were big and doey, and almost…sad, like someone had licked their fingers and snuffed out the light in them as they would a candle.
You! I want you! She wanted to say but instead her chest tightened. All that came out was some sort of excuse to make conversation.
“I uh, I have not seen you much as of late.”
“Well you know how busy things have been lately.” Dwight shrugged the loose strap from his backpack back onto his shoulder. “Mondays I gotta help a few clubs after school, Tuesdays is newspaper stuff with zeke, Fridays is the senior center with nana and I've picked up some extra time at the animal shelter on–”
“Saturdays I know,” Gretta interjected, "Nana told me.”
The silence grew between them. It used to be calm and comforting being in each other's space but now it was something that made his heart drop deep into his stomach. The quiet was deafening as much as the school fire alarm.
His schedule had been absolutely hectic but it was what he needed. He'd been doing different things for the school, running himself ragged. He didn't even know why he was doing so much as if without him things around him would just fall apart. Perhaps he was more worried it would end up being him that fell apart if he didn't.
He could see the hurt in her face, her eyes barely looking at him. All he wanted to do in that moment was reach out and take it all away, even if it meant he'd have to endure more hurt than he was already carrying. The thought that he was causing any of her pain even after all this made him feel sick.
“Listen, Gretta I–”
He was cut off by the class bell. A throng of students made their way through the hallway.
“I'll see you later.” he gave her a tight lipped small nod and then he walked away.
He didn't look back.
A lump grew in her throat. Hot tears of frustration stung the backs of her eyes. She clung to the books tight in her hands against her chest, makeshift armor for her heart fastened by her crossed arms and walked quickly.
Dwight turned the corner and then another, going a ridiculous roundabout way to his class. He'd never had a reason to go down some of these halls before but when he turned another corner, the next hallway he'd arrived at was quiet and still, away from the din. Dwight dropped the backpack from his shoulder, letting it dangle in his hand as he fell back against the cool wall. Words bubbled up, burning like acid as his chest heaved.
You're supposed to be her champion, now look at you.

Not people saying “Fandom has always been like this” in that vent post I made. No. It hasn’t always been like this. Fandom has NEVER been like this until recently and if you were in fandom pre-tumblr purge, pre-twitter, pre-netflix boom, pre-tiktok….then you would fucking know it was nothing like this.
We still had the drive to create. We still sold prints and charms and made zines…but it was never like this.
The introduction of streaming, binge shows that drop all at once, tiktok and vine RIP i still love u vine but you were the beginning of a particularly ugly era) creating this bite sized, quick paced ‘content’ era of creation and it bled out into fucking everything else.
Fandoms didn’t die down when the show ended or the season was over. You didn’t mass unfollow artist, writers or moots just because they changed fandoms. There wasn’t this need to please the algorithm in order for your posts to get seen by people and enjoyed.
Fandoms used to last YEARS. Star Trek is literally the oldest running fandom out there and you got people in there that could care less about the new stuff and still have been happily prancing through their fucking fifty year old fandom today. Hell, even SPN after all it’s fuckups and shitshows has a dedicated fanbase STILL creating tons of art and fic.
There is no patience anymore. No calm feeling of taking in fandom and friends at a pace that which doesn’t make you stressed and is still fun.
Do I blame fandom for this? Of course not, but people are complacent with it and start changing their vocab to accommodate and end up making the situation so deep it cant be fixed.
We call Art & Fic Content now, completely stripping the value of what it is to a level of consumerism instead of personal entertainment & community bonding.
